@Char awesome post chart:smile-big:hi!

Imho, if we exclude hax, God Serena is the strongest among the "average" spriggans! The GoI individualy are on the same level as current Base Natsu, Base Gajeel, Erza,TO Sherria Mard Geer and Hades. GS defeated 3 of them + Jura without much effort. We never saw him going all out because he only used 4 of his ds lacrimas to end the battle and then Acnologia, the most op character so far in ft, appeared and killed him. I highly doubt that Wahl, Ajeel or Dimaria (without age seal) could win against 3 current Erzas and one Jura for example because Erza was able to keep up with Ajeel and TO Sherria with a bit support of Wendy was enough to take down Dimaria.
I am also unsure if Laxus or Jellal could do that but I am not disqualifying that option as well, perhaps they are strong enough but they will need more effort than Serena:^_^!

For August I'm basing it off of him placing Brandish under a sleep spell, while at first it doesn't seem impressive we know (from Mystogan's magic) that the caster has to be more powerful than the target (hence why Laxus and Makarov stayed awake while everyone else was floored), he also cast a massive nuke fairly casually. This puts August at least a tier above Brandish and the other Spriggans. As for Irene, she's pushed Acno back and condensed the entire of Fiore into 1/20th of it's size, her feats speak for herself.
Casual would be Laxus just showing up, looking nonplussed, and firing off a giant nuke, August practically got angry, underwent a physical transformation with markings and all, I wouldn't call it "casual" tbh, it took some effort, if that makes sense.

To the person who said that not every Spriggan 12 member can solo the GOI, thank you so so much for that, I dont like how most people tend to downplay the GOI way too much when it comes to the Spriggan 12 match ups..
Personally, I think when the GOI fought God Serena, Jacob and August, the only two who they would lose to on that front would be Serena (as we were shown in action) and August (because he's freaking August! Duh)
If they were fighting Lessio I think they could beat him,and I think they would beat everyone other than my top 5 Spriggan 12 members:
1. Eileen
2.August
3.Dimaria
4.God Serena
5.Brandish
That means that pretty much every other Spriggan 12 member would lose to the GOI at best, and at worst they would draw with them

How will Jacob lose? He can practically one-shot them with Transport. And Bradman? Maybe Wahl, Ajeel or Neinhart will lose (I think Wahl will win) but Bradman and Jacob will definitely win. The latter I already stated why and the former because he just has so many hax at his disposal nor can they come near him due to his particle body.

Hyberion can use Vampire Magic on him and stop his movements before he uses Transport, or Jura can just change the earth around him and cause him to lose focus for the spell..
And Bradman?
Hmm, I always had this weird headcanon that since Warrod's body is plant like, his lungs are also made of...wood? So MBP won't affect him as well

I'd like to believe that Irene and August are superior to Dimaria. Otherwise they wouldn't have been so overhyped. But let's remember some characters have been hype to unheard extents, such as the GoI, and then they were shown to be a disappointment. I HOPE August and Irene are truly more powerful than anything Dimaria can offer!
I fully believe August/Irene > DiMaria, and I see you point. But my argument still stands, if we're going to apply whether or not Neinhart can counter Age Seal then I think August/Irene should be held accountable as well, if we're being fair. I think it's always best to be liberal with some of the rankings, rather than be selective for one and not the other.

I really don't have an answer for DiMaria's hax though, which is why I rate her up there with Laxus. She has the potential to solo someone with feats like Laxus - the person who right now probably has the best feats among the good guys.

When we're talking of hax that can immediately kill you, we must see which ones can be activated the quickest.
For example, Dimaria only needs to click her teeth. As a matter of fact, I do believe she can activate it whenever she wants with no lag whatsoever, so it activates instantaneously. Hax-wise, it's the fastest and most efficient magic in the whole manga, so far.
Imo Jacob clapping his hands is pretty quick. You would have to know that a hand clap = transport for you to rush him and stop it. Otherwise it's the same as DiMaria. Jellal cast time for GC is seemingly greater than Natsu using an FDK spell, yet they both achieve similar results, and should be considered roughly equal as feats.

I'm not trying to downplay Age Seal > Transport, but I'm saying Transport should be held with similar regard to Age Seal. But I'll put my hand up to say that Age Seal is slightly better, given that Chronos > Jacob in offence.

Brandish should be able to shrink anything instantaneously as well. But I think stopping time implies 0 time to activate because in Brandish's case, you have to actually think what you're going to shrink and then locate it. I think the "thinking" takes more time than just activating age seal.
Thought processes should be equal for both. I think both girls would be able to trigger their magic quickly, but Age Seal > Mass Manipulation right now.

As for Jacob, if we regard his spatial technique as haxy as age seal or shrinking anything (we cannot be sure for we don't know what happens in his dimension), that is to say, if we consider that anything he sends to his dimension can be killed effortlessly, then he'd be the third slowest in that list since he needs to join the palms of his hands. Besides the activation of the technique takes a little bit longer, as it's not instantaneous that everyone disappears when he joins his hands, but there's like 2 seconds time in which the characters were in the blink of disappearing, but actually realizing 'something was going on'. Maybe this hax can be avoided somehow.
Like I said before, how easy is it to clap? Whose going to know that a clap = Transport? I understand what you're saying and I'm not trying to disagree too hard here, but it's not like Jacob's hax is really below DiMaria's, if we consider they're both pretty OP.

In this case, there's the counter factor. I think the counter factor does not apply, it's an exception and shouldn't be taken into account when classifying characters into tiers.

For example, TO Shelia beat Dimaria just because of Ur's time magic. Imagine Ur wasn't there. Even if Shelia didn't need TO because she was in her prime. Shelia cannot counter age seal, therefore, Shelia is vastly inferior to Dimaria. TO Chelia is still arguably inferior than Dimaria, and she arguably only won thanks to Ultear and Wendy being support characters. But even if Chelia proved to be superior in terms of Cqc or general magic spells to Dimaria, Dimaria would still wreck her with age seal as she would any other character (save, I'd like to think, August, Irene, Zeref and Acnologia).

So, Wahl is actually below Bradman, because the amount of people Wahl and Bradman can beat is different. IMO, Bradman is more powerful, he has a wider variety of magic (curses for that matter) and he can potentially kill more people. But Wahl is limited to cqc, flashy attacks and explosions. So, Wahl beating Bradman doesn't make him stronger, it makes him a counter, or an exception.
That is true, but having a counter is essentially what you're saying Neinhart needs to be anywhere near DiMaria. I agree DiMaria > Neinhart, but I don't think there is a huge gap between them or anything like that.

Why is Bradman > Wahl? I fully believe the anti-magic particle body is something that not many people could actually counter. But then again we'll get back to your original stance - who can counter it? Should Bradman ~ Irene/August, if they've not shown a counter? Even if DiMaria used Age Seal, can she hit an MBP body? Wahl can counter Bradman. Wahl got beaten by Laxus despite an advantage. Bradman had an intangibility advantage and still couldn't take out Gajeel or Levy. Wahl has better offensive feats, Bradman with his body has better defensive feats. I'd still take Wahl because I prefer less hax as it's more accurate imo - but that is just me.

This is why I don't choose to rate each person in a tier about how they'd fare against someone else in it; like Wahl with Bradman. If I did, Bradman has no chance with Wahl. It's always best to rate them on how they'd fair against a neutral opponent. If you do that, you rule out all bias and advantages, and thus get a better idea.

I understand your reasoning. As a matter of fact, I think this was Mashima's initial reasoning. But then he had to make hax specialists, cqc specialists and hybrids. And hax specialists are always superior to cqc because hax can go as far as you want, but cqc has some limitations. Unless you're as fast as Goku, there's no way that a FT cqc specialist can be faster at knocking down an opponent like Dimaria, than her activating age seal. The moment she activates age seal, you're probably dead, and unless we apply the NLF here, she should objectively beat pretty much anyone. I'm going to give August and Irene the benefit of the doubt because 1) they were portrayed to be more powerful (not like this matters much, we know how Mashima hypes characters, then fodderizes them) and 2) I assume, given the diversity of magic styles they've shown or implied to posess, they can counter it.
This might be the case, but until a hax wizard actually completely solos the world or something, I'm not going to hype them too far. I think as readers we can think of all kinds of possibilities for a hax, and give them the max threshold for their abilitiy. For a CQC or non-hax wizard, their magic falls under the rules that we're more accustomed to, so we give them a more accurate rating. I'm not trying to downplay hax, but I'm not being overly generous to it either.

August and Irene are definitely above DiMaria. I think it's reasonable to ask why. We can have 2 assumptions. 1) They can counter Age Seal. 2) Being more powerful in the manga doesn't require having direct counters to specific people (example Bradish can't counter Mest).

ke this. Still, I cannot see God Serena losing to Wahl, but I can see him losing to Jacob for his hax, so in my head there are still tiers. Although, yeah, you could say they belong to the same tier and classify them from more powerful to less and it'd still make sense to me :P Besides, I'm one of those who's still reluctant to accept God Serena below the likes of Laxus, Natsu or Jellal, but again, Jacob should beat GS, Natsu, Jellal, Laxus... given his hax.
Well I think Serena can lose to Wahl. It's not like Serena boasts feats that far outstrip Wahl. They're within each others reasonable limits. But, even if they're in the same tier, it doesn't mean that there isn't people who can't beat another in it. It all depends on how you want to make tiers.

Personally I look at Base Natsu's FD spells and compare them to God Serena's Purgatory Hellflame. We don't know much about the GoI's physicals, other than that they're around Jura's (who endured attacks just like the GoI). The AoE of Hellflame didn't give me the same impression as Natsu's FD Iron Fist. Of course, God Serena might have been using less than his best efforts, but I really didn't get that feeling from him. I'm making assumptions that fire dragon slayer magic presents in a similar way ie flames with AoE that corresponds to a level of power AND that the magic is used in a very similar way. If we also consider Bluenote's durability compared to Jura's, it fits that base Natsu FD fist >= Purgatory Hellflame. This is my reasoning, rather than assign a hypothetical level to the GoI, I try to use Jura/Bluenote comparisons, along with Fire DS comparisions. We've seen enough of dragon slayer magic in the manga imo to give a reasonable opinion to how it might work.

I will also note that I don't expect Mashima to plan every panel like he is going to be 100% accurate with AoE or amount of damage or environmental impact etc. I realise that there's going to be inconsistency with feats. But as long as I'm consistent with my view (like you probably are) then it's always going to come down to matter of opinion, unless Mashima flat out shows it on panel.

Yeah, I get it. The GoI were so overhyped and then sooooo vastly downplayed that it's difficult to place them. Some will argue they're vastly inferior to current Erza, while I believe each of them to be around her level. If we go by that logic, they, together, should've beaten GS, if we consider GS to be on the same tier as Ajeel. This is why only two opinions can be had on that topic:

1. That GS is vastly superior to Ajeel
2. That the GoI+Jura are vastly inferior to Erza
I agree. It's one or the other. I still think God Serena can beat Ajeel (he has some advantaged like Wind/Water) and still be on the same tier.

I think it's better for the manga if God Serena was actually vastly stronger than Ajeel, like nearly August level. This would at least give the GoI some hope, and not make it look like Laxus a god compared to the Gods of Isghal. That said, Acno did oneshot GS with an arm swipe, so I don't think there truly is a way to make everything nice and neat, just got to wait for Mashima to do what he wants to do.

I get your points about Jacob but MBP isn't just all he has. He has 11 different curses at his disposal.

Wait 11? Am I missing something? Or you're also counting the First and the Second Seal?

Hate to butt in but:

They were portrayed to be more powerful (not like this matters much, we know how Mashima hypes characters, then fodderizes them)
The difference between Irene/August and the GoI is that the best that we could ever say about the GoI is that they were stronger then GMG Jura (the rest is overblown fan made hype) whereas August/Irene are canonically far stronger then the other Spriggan. Even if Invel showed "better feats" (subjective) then August, by virtue of manga facts August is still a league above Invel (as Makarov stated) and the strongest Spriggan (as Brandish stated).

Point is that they weren't simply portrayed (portrayal leaving some leeway for interpretation) to be more powerful but it was downright stated that they are. So unless Invel (or Dimaria or any other Spriggan) defeated August himself or someone August lost too or someone more credible then a fellow Spriggan (basically only Zeref) said oh no, this Spriggan is actually the strongest they will remain as the strongest Spriggan, irregardless of what they may or may not show.

Brandish should be able to shrink anything instantaneously as well. But I think stopping time implies 0 time to activate because in Brandish's case, you have to actually think what you're going to shrink and then locate it. I think the "thinking" takes more time than just activating age seal.
No. DiMaria has to think to activate her magic as well.

Thanks for your post. Let's stop downplaying the GoI just because GS beat them handily. Other spriggans might have beaten them, yes, but not with such ease.

Sadly, I think Jacob would've overpowered them just becuase of his spatial magic :( in the event there's no NLF, and there seems not to be, if Jacob manages to pull off his spatial magic, then they will all be transported to his dimension... But, of course, that would happen with Acno as well! (Again, in the event NLF is not applicable here).
I think that, since the GoI would not be knowledgeable of Lessio's magic, it's likely that Hyberion's magic is used a little too late, when Jacob has already activated spatial magic. It's hard to say which one of the two magics would activate before, and in the event Hyberion managed to do so, then the GoI may stand a chance.

I also agree with you on things like Wahl would lose to the GoI+Jura, Neinhart would definetely lose to them, and maybe even some others. But then there's people who put all Spriggan 12 on the same league and the GoI a tier below just because all Spriggan12 (except august and irene) were said to be on the same league. That argument is also 'true' and whoever defends it is entitled to.

Considering Erza already gave Ajeel some difficulty (although she wouldn't have won on her own) and assuming the GoI are 3 Erzas + 1 Jura, they would beat Ajeel rather handily. I'd also like to thing that vampire magic is a counter against Bradman's MBP but I don't know so I'll refrain from claiming anything like that.

We agree then. Based on hype, August/Irene > Dimaria. Based on 'feats' and in the event we don't account for the NLF, Dimaria would be above though, in terms of hax.

I really don't have an answer for DiMaria's hax though, which is why I rate her up there with Laxus. She has the potential to solo someone with feats like Laxus - the person who right now probably has the best feats among the good guys.
I do believe the Spriggans have the MP and the good guys have the skills. Although Spriggans like Dimaria have the MP+Skills. So, a Dimaria matchup with Laxus is a bad matchup... Actually, pretty much anyone against Dimaria is a bad matchup.

Some people claim Age Seal won't work on people with similar or higher MP than Dimaria, but Dimaria should arguably have more MP than Laxus, so Laxus would get age sealed...

OR maybe age limit won't work on beings FROM Laxus' level on (we know it worked on Kagura but she kind of hinted that something was going on, and Laxus >> Kagura.

Imo Jacob clapping his hands is pretty quick. You would have to know that a hand clap = transport for you to rush him and stop it.
Exactly what I mention above, in my GoI vs Jacob potential versus. If Hyberion happens to know that, upon joining his hands, Jacob is automatically going to win; then maybe he can do something to help it. Otherwise, Jacob should be too quick at joining his palms.

I'm not trying to downplay Age Seal > Transport, but I'm saying Transport should be held with similar regard to Age Seal.
I get your point, although whereas I believe age seal to be activated in nanoseconds, I think transportation requires of 1-2 seconds to activate it + 2 seconds to fully render it (seen when, after joining his hands, the members of FT still didn't disappear until a couple of panels later, but they were in the verge of disappearing).

Thought processes should be equal for both. I think both girls would be able to trigger their magic quickly, but Age Seal > Mass Manipulation right now.
Think of this: Dimaria only needs to think of stopping time so that it happens. She's used to it. It's her magic and she only has to think of this one thing, so it's been authomatized. It will be activated within nano or miliseconds.

As for Brandish, thinking of how she's going to apply her magic, as in, that part she's going to shrink, to what size, etc.; these thoughts should take slightly more miliseconds or even seconds than Dimaria's magic. But hey, that's all speculation.

Like I said before, how easy is it to clap? Whose going to know that a clap = Transport? I understand what you're saying and I'm not trying to disagree too hard here, but it's not like Jacob's hax is really below DiMaria's, if we consider they're both pretty OP.
Entirely got you. However I still think that an authomatised thought is nano/miliseconds, a thought is miliseconds-seconds and a body movement is seconds. But the effect would ultimately be similar.

However, you claim that the time of the activation does not make them leagues appart. It's all very relative, since we could understand that someone would actually pull something off within 1 second but it would be too unconceivable within nanoseconds.

To give you an example, I can believe that Acnologia blitzes Dimaria before she even activates age seal, similar to what he did against GS, but no other character should be capable of blitzing a character within nanoseconds. But within seconds, I can see it. So it does make a difference.

That is true, but having a counter is essentially what you're saying Neinhart needs to be anywhere near DiMaria. I agree DiMaria > Neinhart, but I don't think there is a huge gap between them or anything like that.
If we abide by NLF, then yeah, it's likely Neinhart, having ridiculous amounts of MP, is capable of withstanding age seal and then, he can pull off a fight against Dimaria in equal terms.

If we consider that age seal is going to work against Neinhart, then she definetely is tiers above him... but that's only my opinion.

Why is Bradman > Wahl?
While Wahl is all cqc, and he has arguably good durability (he can withstand Laxus' magicless blows, we don't know how good he'd do against an opponent whose magic Wahl was not immune. For example, if Laxus used fire instead of lightning, or any other element for that matter, he'd have won very easily, without having to resort to a new kind of lightning/magic.

However, Laxus (and most characters on the good side by that token) wouldn't even be capable of getting close to Bradman without dying. Laxus may have MBP resistance but he's an exception. Natsu, Erza, Jellal... Anyone capable of standing against a spriggan couldn't arguably get close enough to Bradman.

So, I can see Natsu, Erza, Jellal fighting Wahl. Heck, I can EVEN see them winning... in some scenarios and under some conditions. But against Bradman, hell no!

But then again we'll get back to your original stance - who can counter it? Should Bradman ~ Irene/August, if they've not shown a counter?
Yeah, NLF... Let's assume that, since they've been stated to be stronger than the other Spriggans, they can individually solo all of them, because they can counter their magic.

Even if DiMaria used Age Seal, can she hit an MBP body?
Good point. But I believe she could have plenty of time to think of a way to kill him! and all in all her hax is superior to his because it covers a larger AoE, I think... So she can potentially kill more people, and faster.

Wahl can counter Bradman.
I get you, but Bradman has a wide variety of magic to defeat Wahl, whereas Wahl's only got cqc and beams that aren't going to even scratch Bradman (I think).

Wahl got beaten by Laxus despite an advantage.
That is one of the reasons why I consider Wahl an overrated, and not so strong Spriggan.

Bradman had an intangibility advantage and still couldn't take out Gajeel or Levy.
While I believe Levy's case to be a plothole, Gajeel was a natural counter (iron-made lungs) and therefore, he was an exception. Similar to Ur being a counter against age seal.

Wahl has better offensive feats,
Does he? Bradman didn't actually display all he's capable of. As a matter of fact, he's got some strength/power-based curses that might overpower most of Wahl's attacks... But I'm not sure.

Bradman with his body has better defensive feats. I'd still take Wahl because I prefer less hax as it's more accurate imo - but that is just me.
I also don't like too haxy characters because we don't know when their hax works or it doesn't... Wahl is an opponent we can 'measure', and we can know who among the good guys could beat him or put up a fight with him, whereas foes like Dimaria are well aside from these standards...

I totally, totally get your point. Especially in Dimaria, Brandish, Bradman or Jacob being in the same tier. All of them have similarly dangerous hax. Jacob was beaten because of plot hole (Happy preventing him from using spatial magic), Brandish and Bradman because they faced a natural counter, and Brandish is yet to be defeated, although there's arguably no known counter to her magic... Well that guy from the Zentopia filler who can do exactly the same as Brandish' magic with his lance.

This might be the case, but until a hax wizard actually completely solos the world or something, I'm not going to hype them too far. I think as readers we can think of all kinds of possibilities for a hax, and give them the max threshold for their abilitiy.
Yeah, abiding by the NLF is always the wisest thing to do in such cases.

100% agree. Given the author hasn't given us any indication of the limits of hax, let's leave it to readers to put some limits. For once, we know Dimaria's hax ain't affecting Irene/August with, what, 90% accuracy?

Well I think Serena can lose to Wahl.
Hmmm... Imagine Wahl is made of iron/steel and, among Serena's elements, there's iron/steel... If that's not the case, after seeing his performance against the GoI + Jura, who, as a unit, should at least be as powerful as Laxus (IMO, of course), I don't think Wahl would beat him.

It's not like Serena boasts feats that far outstrip Wahl. They're within each others reasonable limits. But, even if they're in the same tier, it doesn't mean that there isn't people who can't beat another in it. It all depends on how you want to make tiers.
Feat wise I'll have to agree with you, though, that if GS's and Wahl's weren't equally simlar, Wahl's were better. But still, even if his attacks did not cover a large AoE as BDKM Natsu's, they seemed destructive enough so as to wreck 3GoI+Jura, who, in my mind, should, as a unit, operate on a similar scale as Laxus.

Yeah, but we cannot know exactly which of the two attacks was actually more powerful though, can we? We can only speculate, assuming the durabilities of the victims of both attacks, the AoE, the destruction of the background and so on... But we cannot measure properly which one was more powerful.

Of course, God Serena might have been using less than his best efforts,
Indeed, something else to take into account!

but I really didn't get that feeling from him.
Yep, you and 70% of this forum's readers will defend that actually GS wasn't that impressive, that the GoI were utter fodders and that Natsu's attacks are seemingly above GS'. I still have some faith GS's attacks are in fact above base Natsu's at the very least.

I believe Jura to be around the same level as Bluenote, but the GoI to be slightly superior, by which GS's casual attacks would be superior to base Natsu's serious roar which fodderized Bluenote, but of course, all speculation.

This is my reasoning, rather than assign a hypothetical level to the GoI, I try to use Jura/Bluenote comparisons, along with Fire DS comparisions. We've seen enough of dragon slayer magic in the manga imo to give a reasonable opinion to how it might work.
You're right, but Natsu's flames were city-wrecking from beginning of the series and they might actually even cover more AoE than Serena's casual attacks, while we all know that God Serena is incredibly, enormously, immensely superior to beginning of series Natsu.

That's been my reasoning lately. I think we overthink these things and Mashima does not pay much attention to them. In fact I think he'd laugh to death if he read our assumptions and our measuring of his attacks, like, WTF what are these guys doing? hahahaha

I agree. It's one or the other. I still think God Serena can beat Ajeel (he has some advantaged like Wind/Water) and still be on the same tier.
Precisely because of the fact that Ajeel can only use one kind of magic, or two if you take into account dehydration, and God Serena can use a wide variety of magic, particularly 1 in his base mode + 8 in his DS mode, he should potentially be capable of beating many more opponents than Ajeel should. For example, Gajeel's metal body shouldn't be affected by Ajeel's sand, or we may even consider he won't be affected by dehydration, and he's not even a natural counter to Ajeel's magic. While God Serena would most likely wreck base/metal body Gajeel.

I think it's better for the manga if God Serena was actually vastly stronger than Ajeel, like nearly August level.
I think so too, like, there'd be a slight chance to redeem the GoI.

Acno did oneshot GS with an arm swipe, so I don't think there truly is a way to make everything nice and neat, just got to wait for Mashima to do what he wants to do.
Sadly, I don't think he's going to pay attention to such details... I don't think the GoI are going to be important anymore, and GS is sadly dead.

The difference between Irene/August and the GoI is that the best that we could ever say about the GoI is that they were stronger then GMG Jura (the rest is overblown fan made hype) whereas August/Irene are canonically far stronger then the other Spriggan.
I agree to some extent, but the mechanism of the hyping followed by the downplaying would be similar. After all, both the GoI and August/Irene were supposed to be the strongest entities in their respective continents, and look at the difference between them.

Even if Invel showed "better feats" (subjective) then August, by virtue of manga facts August is still a league above Invel (as Makarov stated) and the strongest Spriggan (as Brandish stated).
If people judge by hype or portrayal, then yes! But if people judge by feats, then Invel should be above in that case. And more than 50% judge by feats because they assume feats are all that matters.

No. DiMaria has to think to activate her magic as well.
I just gave my humblest opinion on why Dimaria's thinking should be straight faster than Brandish's

Bruh you just took up 3/4 of the page space lmao you shouldn't even ask:XD
I'd also like to thing that vampire magic is a counter against Bradman's MBP but I don't know so I'll refrain from claiming anything like that.
Really? My counter against the MBP was Warrod's body, I'm curious why you think Vampire Magic would work...or you think Hyberion can control himself not to bleed?Lol
Some people claim Age Seal won't work on people with similar or higher MP than Dimaria, but Dimaria should arguably have more MP than Laxus, so Laxus would get age sealed...
I actually agree with this, keep in mind Brandish specifically stated that her magic won't work on August or Eileen because they are way out of her league
and this is someone who was able to shrink an entire island with Team Natsu (who are on Spriggan level or generally around that level, especially combining all of them together)
Considering Mass Manipulation is a hax as Age Seal, its safe to say it all comes down to the mage's individual magic at the end of the day, plus whoever they are using it on

Hyberion can use Vampire Magic on him and stop his movements before he uses Transport, or Jura can just change the earth around him and cause him to lose focus for the spell..

Hmm, I always had this weird headcanon that since Warrod's body is plant like, his lungs are also made of...wood? So MBP won't affect him as well
In my opinion it will depend upon who reacts fast.If you remember Hyberion did not at first use Vampire Magic against God Serena.Jacob survived a mountain buster attack so getting out of Vampire Magic should not be difficult for him.And i don't know a whether Warrod may survive or not but others are not surviving infront of his MPB.Add to that Over Skelter.
but i agree MP wise either of them will not be a match for GOI and Jura combined.

Casual would be Laxus just showing up, looking nonplussed, and firing off a giant nuke, August practically got angry, underwent a physical transformation with markings and all, I wouldn't call it "casual" tbh, it took some effort, if that makes sense.
Yeah, I should have phrased that better, my bad. I meant what you said, some effort but not 100%. I am wondering what the transformation is though, does it enhance his magic?

The only thing here is that Bradman wasn't taking the encounter seriously, had he been serious he could have just used Macro or the Sensation Curse. Also Gajeel only escaped the Second Seal because of Levy, had she not been there the fight would have been over, and even then her surviving after that was a plot hole. So really Bradman was up against his natural counter and still wrecked him to the point where he needed another counter to his magic and a plot hole to make the battle even.

I initially thought MBP affected 'alive' or 'organic' things so I thought Warrod would still be affected by it. Hyberion, well, he was implied 'not to be' a human (back in the GMG) so I'm assuming he's a vampire or something like that, and being an undead he cannot die. But yeah, just assumptions.

Technically, she said she couldn't beat her, not that her magic wouldn't have an effect on him; as a matter of fact, we already saw she can affect August's body, but ofc it's different since he is "allowing" her to. But yeah, there must be something that prevents hax from being supreme, and that should be MP.

Wait, i'm lost. I'm pretty sure back in GMG, Ooba said that the 4 GoI were not humans. But we know Warrod is human. I think Ooba was just over exagerating quite a lot to imply that Jura couldn't be beaten aside from this elite. that's only my opinion and of course i could be wrong, but i do think Hyberion is human, despite what his magic could lead us to believe

Still how would Vampire Magic affect Bradman? It's name suggest it controls blood or something like that and Bradman doesn't possess any blood.

I agree to some extent, but the mechanism of the hyping followed by the downplaying would be similar. After all, both the GoI and August/Irene were supposed to be the strongest entities in their respective continents, and look at the difference between them.
The GoI were only the strongest in Ishgar at the time (GMG), even then that was based on self knowledge. There could have easily been characters who were stronger then even Serena in Ishgar but no one knew about. Oobaba wasn't even aware of Gildarts. In anycase, I have said before there is a massive difference between August/Irene and the GoI in the fact that the latter are only factually above GMG Jura whereas the former are factually above all the Spriggan (including DiMaria, Serena and whonot). Just because the GoI have a very poor performance doesn't mean you are going to see anyone start claiming they are weaker then GMG Jura, as they have been factually established as being above him. Same goes for August/Irene here. Hiros words = law. Interpretations on a characters abilities, how strong they are and how they use them is all just that, interpretation.

If people judge by hype or portrayal, then yes! But if people judge by feats, then Invel should be above in that case. And more than 50% judge by feats because they assume feats are all that matters.
Brandish saying that August is stronger then her is initself a feat and can be used to end a Brandish Vs August debate before it even starts. August doesn't have to show feats at all to validate Brandishes own claim.

However if someone were to claim that GoI are stronger then current Jellal or something, thats not a feat. Because it was never stated. The closest thing would be that the GoI were deemed as Ishgars strongest forces by Mavis, but she has never met any of them outside of Warrod nor does she know exactly how strong any of the other forces are, she clearly went off of titles. Which clearly ended up backlashing.

You can't forget to differentiate a credible source from a non-credible one.

I'm pretty sure its MP draining magic. Though blood draining is equally possible, Serena did seem a little flustered.

In regards to the Bradman Vs GoI debate. Not even sure if Bradman would need to go EF and use his other curses. Wolfheim, Jura and Warrod are all borderline useless with their pure physical attacks and Hyberion could also potentially be useless depending on how his magic really works. If he does use the DG/Mard curses then he borderline stomps. He wouldn't need to go beyond Torafusas curse to drown them.

Hmmm, well, my theory is that Warrod merged with nature or something like that, or did something with his magic and he's more a plant than a human hahaha but maybe I'm wrong. Just look at him though... Besides, he's way older than any alive character save immortal characters and Purehito, who before dying was as old as him, but due to his artificial heart.

Makarov is the second oldest known character and he was suffering from his heart so his natural death shouldn't be so far in any case :P

The Hyberion argument was pure speculation!

@atomic_2000 not implying Hyberion can actually hurt Bradman just that maybe BRadman's MBP won't affect Hyberion either. And since Bradman has taken the appearance of the reaper but Hyberion seems to be a vampire, it'd be kind of interesting to see supernatural elements fighting each other haha

@Escanors Pride You bring good points but the fact that a character states x is stronger than him does not necessarily make this true, maybe in a battle he'd beat x it's just he was being humble and whatnot, think of GMG Jura who was said to be Glidartz level by Makarov and we all know that's far from true, but I get your point and mostly agree.

Also, IMO, each member of the GoI should be of around equal caliber to current Erza or Mard Geer, so the three together+Jura should put up a proper fight against Bradman in the event MBP and Macro are not ultra haxy.

@XXEliteXXAceXX

I kind of agree with your ranking. Could you elaborate on why, according to your opinion, God Serena is above any other spriggan except the top tiers?
Yeah, thanks for reminding me. I forgot to explain why I placed God Serena as the only high-tier Spriggan. After all, he was the only one who beat his opponents fair and square.

Before I continue, I'll admit that I had to resort to hype because he was taken out so early, but there are feats to justify the hype.

First of all, God Serena's attack power should be considered average or higher. The majority of the fight was off-paneled so I couldn't tell from the first part. The second part of the fight was more clear. He used 4 attacks and literally took out all 4 of them.

Secondly, his durability should be higher than average. He tanked the attacks of the 3 Gods of Ishgar + Jura and received no damage. Sure, call them casual attacks. But the attack power combined is not something to be taken lightly.

God Serena has no speed feats so I won't assume things.

Thirdly, God Serena's versatility will definitely put him up there. We already know half of the elements he uses (fire, water, earth, air), and although we don't know exactly what type of elements the other half are, we know they are still elements. Notice how the elements that I just mentioned are all the elements Jellal has. This guy is the only one who can probably beat Jellal in terms of versatility considering that he still has 4 more elements to go. We also don't know what type of magic he might've used (if any) in the off-paneled fight, so I won't speculate here.

God Serena isn't that high in intelligence. At least, he doesn't bring his personality into fights.

Lastly, God Serena is known for his MP. He casted 4 consecutive attacks and only had a few drops of sweat. Again, it is inconclusive as to whether he used more attacks in the off-paneled fight. But even if he didn't and only used CQC, that would be evidence of him being an expert in CQC for taking on a 1v4.

So why is defeating the 3 Gods of Ishgar with low difficulty such a notable feat? Because if we use powerscaling, Jura should be right below Erza's power level. And using the information that the Gods of Ishgar are a few times more powerful than Jura, we can get an accurate picture of just how strong they actually are.

Not only is Levy sweating here, but even Jura who many have said that he is on the level of the Gods of Ishgar when he clearly isn't... Anyways, for jokes, being taken out by Acnologia (because he was simply too over-powered) is a very good feat.

I don't think God Serena was stronger than the rest of the Spriggan. We heard they are all around the same strength, with the exception of August and Irene. And Jacob wasn't impressed at all when God Serena took the Wizard Saints, despite how he was easily defeated later. If anything the rest of the Gods of Ishgar are weak.
