I'm disagreeing with you saying "it's full form" just because knocking people out is the most recognizable.

Oh I see. No worries, I skip over a lot of posts especially since it's either stupid points or repetitive.

That is true but again, Luffy and Ace seem to be outliers. Even Whitebeard and Rayleigh. Seems the main common thing is self-confidence rather than wanting to conquer or dominate, that seems to be the common thread.
CoC = Qualities of a king

Self confidence is certainly a quality one seeks in a king

Roger changed the weather with his CoC during his battle with Shiki.

Dragon also changed the weather in loguetown using CoC.
Just once can you stop and think before posting.

interestingly, you don't have to be a conqueror or want to conquer to be a king, just be self-confident. If conquering was important, then Whitebeard would have probably had a bigger territory as he was known as the strongest, but it seems he chose to "rule" over lands mainly to protect them with his name.

But then again, I think I'm just arguing semantics or something.

Semantics or not. It's great having a conversation not about power levels to usher in the new Chapter this week. Dont you think?

True, less stupidity.

wonder how many are/were actually conquerors:
Big Mom
Doflamingo
Hancock
Kaidou
Blackbeard if he has CoC

Those who aren't/weren't:
Rayleigh
Luffy
Shanks
Ace
Whitebeard
Katakuri
Does Dragon or Garp have CoC?

Two things they have in common are self-confidence and being headstrong/stubborn.

The common factor among CoC users should be the connection to royalty, even if it's not literal.
  • Ace is the son of the Pirate King
  • Rayleigh epithet is "Dark King" (???)
  • Hancock is a queen
  • Doflamingo is a king and a Tenryuubito
  • The Yonko are emperors
  • Katakuri is the son of an emperor and queen
  • Oden is the son of the Shogun
  • Sengoku is due to the Monkey King
  • Chinjao uses arranged marriages to expand his military power, so I believe he's a king of sort, but it has not been made clear yet
Assuming Luffy will become Pirate King, the only exception would be Eustass Kid. :grumble

Anyway, by this logic the Strawhats, the only one besides Luffy who could have CoC would be Sanji. Unless we count Vivi too.

Or maybe any of the Strawhats whose both biological have not been revealed yet are a possibility...

Rayleigh conquered the grandline alongside roger as his first mate.
Luffy is conquering her right now and even declared FI his Territory.
Shanks has his own territory.
Whitebeard was a Conqueror too with his Territory as Yonkou.
Dragon wants to conquer/free the world for all we know.

Katakuri and Ace are the only ones with no real "conquer" in my opinion, but they werent by themselves anyway and had service under an another conqueror.

Luffy isn't trying to conquer the Grand Line, he's just trying to find One Piece and be Pirate King because it means freedom for him. He declared Fishman Island as his own territory solely to protect it after learning Big Mom demanded stuff in exchange for keeping the island safe.

As per my last email, Whitebeard did not give off the impression that he was a conqueror as we see him claiming FI as his own to protect it and that land where Marco and Neko met as his own to keep it safe and give them money. It's been implied that the territories he ruled over were made safe because of him.

Several sources have stated Dragon's desire to free the world from tyranny of rulers, and he himself was disgusted with how Goa was shitty because of the ruler/s and/or upper class. But he has Conqueror's?

Ace used his CoC to save Dadan from the gang that was burning the trash on the island when he was a kid.

It's said that the Yonko rule their territory like a mafia

Which makes things quite interesting for Whitebeard and Shanks...

Conqueror doesn't really have to have a forceful or negative connotation. It could really just mean someone who overcomes adversity or challenge. Conquering one's fear, conquering the elements, etc.

Dragon is challenging the status quo of the world.

Ace, being the son of the PK, was challenged by his right to exist.

Whitebeard, at one point or another, had ambitions to sail the Grand Line before being content with where he was.

Sengoku (and maybe Garp) were challenging the entire concept of Piracy and "Evil".

These are great ambitions beyond that of being a regular King. Cobra, Neptune, and kings like them that we've seen don't have CoC and haven't even been implied to have it.

Katakuri is the only odd person out really. He may have ambitions beyond his current position, but it was never really said.

In Chinjao's words when he spoke to Luffy: "What kind of king do you want to be?".

So according to Chinjao, CoC is about wanting to be some kind of king. Whitebeard wanted to have a family though, so go figure.

Nah, CoC can't be about "wanting" something. CoC is an innate trait, a haki type you can't acquire via training. You are born with it. You definitely don't get it if you want to be a king and you don't lose it if you don't give a crap about being a king. Having it probably just means you are born insane enough to pursue whatever you pursue as your goal regardless of how asinine it is and that you have some capacity to attract people to you. But it's definitely not about stuff you do or don't do. Alternatively, I suppose there is a chance that so few people have this type of haki that it's not particularly well understood.

Hmm, so this was after Whitebeard died.

I don't think so, given Ace had no desire to be king, and neither does Luffy. Whitebeard wanted to be "king" of his own family though, if that helps.

Luffy wants to be Pirate King, which to Luffy and Roger means being the freest man on the sea.

So.... a while back we saw roger and wb clashing... And through their weapons they had an armor haki clash. This bit was interesting to me mostly because it did something which I would have found counter intuitive... Well, for context, we have learned that there are several degrees and applications of armor haki. The invisible version and the hardened one and then we know there are degrees of haki projection. The basic one which has been used, as far as I can tell, to deflect attacks before they touch your body and also to cover swords with haki (my current interpretation is that both are the same skill) and then the final known level which is using projected haki to cause internal damage to an enemy.

Now, in the roger-wb fight we saw that not only their weapons were haki clad and hardened but on top of that they were projecting haki. Which is presumably why the weapons failed to touch each other. Under normal circumstances I would have assumed that projecting haki from a haki clad weapon would have been kinda pointless as there is not that much benefit to it if you have a hardened weapon for defense...

And going further, we also can't rule out they were using the even more advanced version of armor haki through their weapons. As in, causing internal damage... it also seems kinda redundant with a weapon if we consider the attack would cut anyways. I suppose the scenario might be that when it comes to armor haki the only defense to a level or degree of haki is answering with the same level of haki. Unless there is a substantial strength difference. If you are projecting haki then even with swords there is an advantage to an attack in practice hitting just earlier than anticipated...

I think you're looking into it a bit too deeply.

The two characters are basically being shown going all out, which is them pouring, assumedly, all of their haki into their weapons in preparation for the clash. With that being the case potentially, it's likely that they just get all of the effects that go with that. Sure, they can probably pick and choose the forms of CoA they want to use on any other day, but if they going beards to the wall crazy, they will just be going all in with it. Which means, hardening, projection, internal damage, the whole 9 yards.

There are still aspects of internal damage that we need to learn about. It's been discussed before, but yes, we do need to see how it functions with blades. That being said, it's likely that it still increases damage at the least.

Who else think will be next Strawhats to have Haki in the crew? Not talking about only COC since there is thread for that, but any chances of them getting COO or COA or even Both for the rest of them as Idk if some of Strawhats can go on if they can't have Haki to help them with their future fights like Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Jimbei, and Usopp in recent. Do you all think they be fine without Haki or want few/some of them to have it at least

Usopp is recent getting COO for himself and still training it and Idk if COA is require as his projectiles back quite a punch even without Haki added to it, but given who his father is being Yasopp and presuming his Haki is very far up to keep up as one of Shanks' top men and YCs, can see him being one of the few on the ship to have all 3 Haki Types with getting COA and might even having COC as well.

I think Franky and Brook can manage without Haki given their versatile and have abilities to harm or get past someone tricky or Haki-Enchanced with Franky's modified body and creations he can make while Brook with his DF can get past others especially his Ice capabilities, but maybe could have access to having COO, but won't be disappoint if they get COA instead or even both of them.

Robin given her abilities, think it's better she unlocks COA than COO given is very aware of her surroundings already and able to create her own eyes anywhere help being pseudo-COO to predict and see things from time to time, but to an extent of course to being comparable with COO. COA she might need to strength her attacks given her powers requires holding onto someone or hitting them their bodies with created limbs. She need ot boost her attack and defense on them if she want to be better in her fighting style to damage their bodies especially if they are tricky DF users abilities and prevent her taking damage from her limbs if they get hit.

Nami given her abilities, think COO would be ideal to her since navigation is something more prediction-wise and COO could help her on how to navigate around the seas and be prepare for unpredictable circumstances if something feels 'off'. Don't think she needs COA given how her Tempest-Weather style is very diverse in being tricky and can lead big damage onto her opponents especially elemental properties for it. Plus depending on what happens with Zeus and Big Mom situation or she get new upgrade later on parable or stronger than when she has Zeus, it can workout in space for COA to her needs quite well.

Chopper now and honestly I can see him having both of them, but more leaning on COA factor given that he needs to evolve his power more and plus COA with his new Transform can really push the power up for him and handling tricky and/or durable foes when come to facing them. Would be terrifying to see Monster Point + COA mixture as he could really level the place all around. Though COO can be good for him as being originally animal, COO can be good for his sensoring out others while smelling them out for scents, so he can be diverse around the style on having both. Feels it can work both on his character and abilities quite well.

What you all think about that?
