People are forgetting Chitose is so clever as a player, he plays Tennis in a way that even somebody who can hit every single shot back with DOUBLE the power had zero effect when he hit the ball.
So the argument that he can't play Kabaji is absurd.
Kabaji can hit the ball back harder sure, but not harder than Tezuka can hit it when Tezuka uses HJnK.
So if Chitose can shit on the Tezuka that uses HJnK, he can obviously cope with Kabaji's Power.

Now the issue will be how the Saiki battle will work out between Chitose and Kabaji's Super Copy technique.
Basically its really simple.
Once Tezuka learned Saiki, it became down to a battle of Mental's I believe.
Tezuka's Mental is 5, and Chitose's is 4. Therefore Tezuka simply had to plan the better route to victory and why he won the Saiki battle.
Kabaji's Mental is is a 4 too. So basically they are left in a complete stalemate.

Kabaji has better Power, but Chitose has better Technique which should be able to nullify that.
Only thing separating them is that Kabaji is slow as hell with a 1.

I don't think Saiki versus Saiki is just mental versus mental. Sure, the first time Tezuka countered it could be a mental thing, but there's nothing mental about him scoring with ZSS. There's no amount of thinking that'd allow Chitose to return ZSS, so overall stats still matter in Saiki versus Saiki. Since Kabaji is very slow, there ought to be moments where even with the ability to predict the future all that does is lets him see how he'd be too slow to reach a shot.

I don't disagree with the point in general, but I think Kabaji's shots would be more powerful than Hyakuren!Tezuka's were back then, since Ryuuzaki specifically comments how Chitose avoided hitting power shots to render Hyakuren's doubling effect useless.

Someone mentions his speed... I thought it was in the manga, when he was soloing Kamio and Momo... but I checked and it isn't there, so it has to be in the anime then

That's not the point.
It was the Mental stat that allowed Tezuka to know that hitting ZSS is the best route to winning the match.
Tezuka's Mental stat is higher than Chitose's Mental stat. Its as simple as that I believe.
After Mental, then you can take things like Technique into account.
But Mental VS Mental is most likely the most crucial part and these stats explain to us a huge amount on how Tezuka and Saiki abilities work out.

I kind of wonder if Konomi realizes these stats are gonna end up explaining so many past moments in matches.

I'm talking about in all Prince of tennis, the only match we have seen the whole match of and Tachibana has played seriously is against Chitose.
