Kimetsu no Yaiba Chapter 184 Spoiler/Discussion Thread

Damn, that looks pretty bad for tanjiro. And tbh, given how kimetsu has been so far I am kinda willing to believe the author has the balls to kill tanjiro. Realistically speaking, muzan is an impossible enemy for the pillars. The guy is just a monster that can't be killed in combat.

But as for tanjiro surviving... Frankly, it looks like he is far too wounded to survive one way or the other. Even if he doesn't die now, he will die later. The demon slayers have advanced medicine but even that is kinda gone now that shinobu is super dead. IF tanjiro survives it will be because he gets transformed into a demon. Most likely by nezuko of course.

Of course, we could also be getting trolled and it turns out this is all a yushiro induced dream for muzan... It sounds a tad far fetched but now that tanjiro is this far gone all bets are off.

It would be hilarious for Yushiro to pull an Aizen and be like, "so you think you're viewing the end of the Demon Corps. Fascinating."

Though honestly, I always felt that Tanjirou would become a demon like Nezuko. If it DOES happen, we should all view Tanjirou's words to Nezuko about not dying so she won't be lonely as foreshadowing. Who knows? But would they just let Tanjirou and Nezuko go? Maybe Nezuko can control her bloodlust, but what if Tanjirou cannot? He can't possibly equal Nezuko. Nezuko wrote Goutoge. (That is gater-sensei's name, right? I did spell it right? RIGHT?!) And then it would be an Inverse Stardust Crusaders, with the demon twins fleeing from their former comrades. That sounds bad, considering the bond they all share. But if Muzan were to die and it seems Tanjirou IS uncontrollable, or unstable, I could see them imprisoning him and then Nezuko breaking him out and running away on the grounds that they will likely try to execute him or something. They can go on a hunt for a true Cure, or something.

Chances are though that he's in a near-death state and is not actually dead. Muzan could be wrong, after all. There are such cases as near-death experiences in real life ALL the time, and plenty of miraculous cases of people dying for hours and then being resuscitated. But definitely, our Gater-sensei would do it. I fully believe it after seeing what she did with the Upper Moon One squad.

But really, I vote that he becomes a demon, probably by Nezuko. We'll just have to wait and see.

Is there a Sun Breath form called "Sunrise?" or has sunrise in the name? Would make sense the final form is a reference to daybreak, or something.

I can imagine the remaining hashira letting tanjiro go. If tanjiro can prove, like nezuko did, that he won't eat blood. I feel like tanjiro would be able to pull off not eating people with less help than nezuko though. His entire thing is his kindness... His inner world was basically a big ball of light that made the dude who attacked him in his sleep a literal better human being. Basically tanjiro is so kind it's contagious.

From the looks of the end of the chapter now that we have a higher quality scan it only appears tanjiro is dying, he isn't dead.

Just watch him trying to eat someone while sobbing. Nezuko may be special because she ate the spider lily before Muzan attacked, or something. We still haven't gotten the entire PoV from her or Muzan in that incident. What if Tanjirou is unable to live without blood and goes into "berserk" feeding frenzies? But I don't think this will happen, honestly, just a possibility to keep my mind off the slightly less surprising realistic approach of Nezuko saving him and them both taking out Muzan.

Also, just watch Muzan pull a Freiza and reveal his whips are just his base form. He got a final one for boss fights.

Lol Kanroji finally lost her humour and cheerful attitude this chapter contrast to last chapter. Just to show how excessively bad situation is. Even Zenitsu probably can t be idiot at times like this.

Shows how extremely dire and nearly hopeless Situation is.

If only Yoriichi Tsugikuni is here. Good guys would win already.

Tanjirou is just getting the worst of everything, lol.

He'll probably be getting his near death state power up as Shounen Law dictates. How he bounces back is the real question. So far, we only have Nezuko as a possibility, but she needs to remain far from Muzan because it's over once he eats her. Unless she's on his level somehow.

If not Nezuko, then the Red Spider Lily we saw in Tanjirou's flashback early in the series is another possible out for him.

I'm excited to see the result.

Also, props to Iguro for landing a neck shot on Muzan. Useless, but impressive.

Normally I’m not a fan of the main antagonist because as such your loss is almost a certainty and so the chances of even the appearance that you’re going to win is unlikely but this manga is doing a good job at it. Michael Jackson is a really good villain

With that said, eventually the others will show up, Nezuko especially. I don’t think it will be next chapter because that’s going to focus on how Tanjiro survives this. Although he could really be dead. This manga has been shamelessly killing a lot of people.

It's kinda an interesting question, why he didn't finish him off in the first place, at that time ,when he managed to find Muzan, and almost killed him. According to Kokushibo, no one has ever managed to land even a scratch on Youriichi, so it's definitely not because Muzan was too strong or anything.

Killing Muzan probably means the death of all other demons. Yoriichi likely didn't want to kill Michikatsu.

Tanjiro is clearly not dead, but the situation is extremely dire. Not sure if his breathing will delay the poisoning, but the only thing that can save him is probably Nezuko at this stage with her blood demon technique

The situation is tense but I don't feel the fight with Muzan itself very entertaining right now.

I love it that they are doing it. Aside from being useful, it really drives home the idea that, while they aren't as skilled as Pillars, their hatred and determination to see Muzan dead is just as strong as theirs.
