We don't know if the drug will turn him back to a human though, we should bear in mind that Tanjiro has all of Muzan's blood in him now. It's very possible that the drug will only be able to return Tanjiro to his human senses for a few seconds, enough to bid his farewells to everyone and ask them to finish him off while he's suppressing Muzan's regeneration cells.

Why does the author have to force this drama? It's not entertaining. I don't like it when authors do the 'MC becomes final villain for drama', it's cringe and more often than not it's forced.

His corpse was possessed and corrupted into a demon.
Now he is trying to kill everyone he loved.
He's making Nezuko cry.
His friends are going to end up killing him.
And Nezuko will cry even more.

It's a nightmare alright, a living nightmare.

I have created the final Plot Armor theory :
“After Tanjiro takes the drug he becomes half demon and half human , able to understand, and he sees that he basically killed Kanao . Then in order to save her he gives her demon blood so that she survives and can regenerate both eyes and chest . Then they may go back to fully human later or rule over the demons as Demon King and Queen . “
If this happens it would be hilarious.

At best it will give Tanjiro a short time to bid his farewell to Nezuko and implore his friends to kill him without regrets. I'm not expecting a good ending out of this. If the author wanted Tanjiro to live she wouldn't have killed him in the first place. It was already painful to see human Tanjiro die, it's even more painful to see him turn into a demon, and it's gonna be even more painful seeing everyone do their best to save him when his fate is likely already sealed.

Remember Braska's final aeon? Because Tanjiro is very much like Jecht right now... and it didn't end well for Jecht. He was possessed, he fought, he suffered, he died with a smile in the hands of his family.

But the Niichirins don't work at Tanjiro, they can't kill him. Kanao gave the medicine to Tanjiro, if he doesn't become human, he will start suffering the other symptoms of premature aging, destruction of cells just like what happened with Muzan.

They won't work as long as Muzan's will is stronger than Tanjiro's. If Tanjiro takes control even for an instant the drug will kick in for a few seconds and that'll be the chance they need to kill him since his demon powers and regeneration will be suppressed. It'll be much like how Uryu Ishida pierced Juha Bach with that silver arrowhead and Ichigo killed him during that single vulnerable moment.
