My Belief is That Mard Geer Wins Situation 1 but in Situation 2 Mard Geer may defeat Hades many times but He Will Get Up.

I'm excluding Grimoire Law, Momento Mori, and the Demon eye (hidden magic) for this.

S1: Mard Geer in base would win probably medium difficulty.

S2: It's close to a draw for mine. Hades has better offence and slightly better endurance, Mard has better defence + speed and slightly better durability. This fight would probs go for a long time. Both needed to be defeated via weakness (Heart destoryed/DeS magic), and both endured hyper versions of Natsu. So in the event of a toss-up I'll pick the person I like the most, which is Hades.

Mard Geer is way stronger than Hades come on. Look at what LFD Natsu did to Hades. Mard is way stronger than that.

Mard Geer wins, but not by too much. Hades will put up a damn good fight, but Mard Geer ultimately takes the win.


Situation 2: Heart

This is a close fight. Either Mard and Hades tie (this is my likely prediction) or Hades just barely defeats Mard

I think Memento Mori alone will give Mard a huge chance of victory in both situations. Situation 1 would probably be low-diff or med-diff and situation 2 mid-diff or mid-high diff.

Keep in mind that we never saw the full extent of Hades' abilities and he showed up 7 years before Mard Geer. And even without his Devil's Eye increasing his powers, Hades showed more devastating spells than Mard Geer ever used (other than Memento Mori, what can Mard Geer do that scales to Amaterasu 100?). Mard Geer may have SHOWN better defense, but we don't know if the Devil's Eye also increases Hades' defense since his heart got destroyed before he got attacked. The only advantage I'm sure Mard Geer has is speed, especially with his Etherious form, while Hades with his Devil's Eye must have about TWICE more offensive power, and we don't know who has the best defense.

Situation 1: Mard Geer wins low-diff since Team Natsu could beat this same Hades while almost drained of magic.

Situation 2: Not 100% sure since we never saw the full extent of Hades' abilities, but I'd say he wins high-diff

Still agree with my 2016 self.

Hades w/heart wins S2 simply because he has better offense than Mard. Mard's durable but his offense is bad, all he can really do is throw out thorns. Hades can tank those all day and then kill Mard with however many F28s and F100s he decides to throw out.

Don't forget we don't know if Hades' Devil Eye also increases his defense. Without it, I agree he'd get knocked out, but with it... No-one knows.

So we can't assume because we don't know. We can't give feats randomly.

We can at least leave the Defense question uncertain and skip to the others. Besides, even if Devil's Eye doesn't increase defense, I'm pretty sure Hades could tank Mard Geer's attacks. The only things we're sure of is: Hades has much better offense, while Mard Geer has much better speed.

Now if we enter in more precise details: Grimoire Law must have A LOT more range and zone-effect than Memento Mori (in fact I wonder if Hades could one-shot the whole Tartaros guild with it) and Mard Geer is much more arrogant than Hades so he should underestimate him, while Hades should be more careful. And Mard Geer may have handled 2-3 enemies at once without problem, but I personally doubt he could keep dodging or blocking DOZENS of Hades' Nemesis demons forever.

Agreed, I'm just curious of testing Grimoire Law's limits since Hades' heart should immunize him against the life-drain side effect.

It's better to ignore Memento Mori and Grimoire Law since they have the same casting time and can both 1-shot the other. As for Hades' defense, if he took a lightning fire breath that could've destroyed a third of Tenrou Island without even opening his Devil's Eye, I'm pretty sure he can tank Mard Geer's thorns (even Tartaros Arc Natsu and Gray could tank them).

As for Hades' defense, if he took a lightning fire breath that could've destroyed a third of Tenrou Island without even opening his Devil's Eye, I'm pretty sure he can tank Mard Geer's thorns (even Tartaros Arc Natsu and Gray could tank them).

Natsu and Gray never tanked thorns though, they evaded them or broke them with magic before contract. And Mard never used high AOE thorns against them, simultaneously from beneath ground, unlike he did against CSK. He used thorns one by one so they could dodge, or visibly so they could destroy.

Only CSK actually got stabbed by them, and it went through CSK like hot knife through butter. It would've straight up killed him if CSK wasn't immortal himself.

If Hades get hit by it, it will go through him and do lethal damage. Hades has to dodge them or destroy them before contact. Unless GH heals lethal damage too. If GH heals lethal damage, and MM is restricted, Mard literally can't win
