Because he felt regret toward Zeldoris despite being in AM, right before he absorbed the 5 commandments.

That is why.
Boi, i can tell you right now i regret posting the last text... i regret it..
Do you really think I actually regret it?.
Lying is not an emotion, i lied when i said i regreted it.. i just said it because maybe i find it convenient, do you understand?
That's why i say mel has a brain, he doesn't need emotions to analize a situation and say something to take advantage from it. That's it, he is just using his brain not feeling.

You are making no sense lmao.

You are contradicting yourself without even knowing it.
He apologized to Zeldoris and expressed his regret and you admitted that regret is indeed a feeling.
Double standard huh.

I didnt say Mel acted like a robot or that he didnt understand emotions, just that he didnt have them and wasnt afraid. Do you reckon Assault Mel's afraid of his magic?
I now you didn't say that, it's just didn't point he can think perfectly, well he is not afraid

Remember my initial point? It was that AM Meliodas used his true magic on Zeldris when he floored him, then i got sidetracked by a bunch of other stuff
Nonsense.

He used only his Darkness lmao.

You are confusing his Darkness and his Original innate magic.
No demon in the entire manga combined their innate magic with their darkness.

You are strong at inventing headcanon.

Not to mention that it " destroys " things.
Why Zeldoris wasn't destroyed?

See? You are saying bullshit lmao.

Then why he doesn't use it on the mortal world? Why he keep using Full Counter lmao if he isn't afraid of it.

Why he doesn't show to his friends, his true power instead of hiding it?

Prove that he was lying lmao.

Why he would lie to Zeldoris? That makes no sense.

Dude.... can you calm down? Or do you have to be a complete shithead in every post? You're making me feel bad that @Magiie was dragged into this
You asked me why Mel didnt use his original magic, and i reminded you that my initial stance was that he did use that magic, thats all, i'm not getting into this again, i'm waiting for manga reveals, remember?

1. He doesn't use it because this can ruin plot.
2. I have no idea why he would lie... go ask him, im not meliodas, i don't know what he plans.
We have nothing for sure here, we make our own conclusion using the info given by the manga, the manga already said mel doesn't have emotions, that they are taken by dk, if nakaba decides to say mel does feels something then everything changes, which means the manga was wrong, that demon king taking mel's emotions was irrelevant and then it comes that moment when the "bullshit" phenomenon is born, you people really like that word huh?

Why you said that he was lying then? Don't say what you cannot proves.

When you apologize about something irrelevant, you are sincere, he had Zeldoris's commandments, lying wasn't necessary lol.

Meliodas doesn't have his " good " emotions. That doesn't means that he doesn't have the bad emotions lol.
He also has honor and sense of guilt. You cannot erase that otherwise he is a total robot.

Okay, im tired, reread all I said, and reread what you sad too, if he doesn't have good emotion why would he feel mercy or regret as you say, don't contradict yourself.
Now, if meliodas indeed have emotions we only have to blame nakaba because the manga says the opposite, and i'm not stubborn, i can change my mind if I get enough info.
Im not replying now, im going to sleep

I didn't contradict myself, I said that he " may " have the bad emotions as well as feeling of guilt ( regret ) and mercy.

You said yourself, he isn't a robot.

What I am saying in reality is that he " remembers " things that he did, he doesn't " feel " regret but he remember that he was sad toward Zeldoris hence why he was apologizing.

I think I finally understand that case now.

Good Night then.

I think of it like this. "Evil" Meliodas (at the height of his "evilness") cared about his Demon brethren the only way he knew how (he's not gonna be a softie when all his life he had lived a heavily militant life, unlike the civilian Demons who just inhabit the Demon realm & live their own lives). He had 'feelings' for his own kind, everyone else be damned. Let's not forget, he was brought up as Royalty whom would eventually replace his Papa, the King of the Realm. The level of responsibility riding on Meliodas' shoulders usually warrants a specific training no civilian Demon can or will go through, hence he was heavily militant, hardly shows emotion.

The British here or those who have studied the Royal family know that those in line to the Throne are conditioned since birth to behave in a certain manner. Take the recent example for instance, Prince Willian can not live like the typical British man. He has to live a certain lifestyle due to the conditioning (since birth) that he might be the King one day. Harry in comparison isn't like so because he comes after Wallian (now he's really far back considering William's Kids have overtaken him) so the parents left him knowing he didn't stand much of a chance as long as William is there. Meliodas here is the direct successor of the Demon King, conditioned at a earlier stage to behavour in a certain way & led a certain lifestyle according to Papa's design, even though the lifestyle was destructive to all life forms.

When Liz came into his life & expressed the view that all life is important ("the sun shines on all indiscriminately") Meliodas worldview changed drastically. He began to see the tyranny behind his heavily militant & domineering lifestyle. He began to question Papa's way of life & how he led as King (I remembered that Meliodas once brought up the topic of the behaviour of Kings to Harlequin... eventually he complimented Harlequin by saying "he is a splendid King"... You may not share that sentiment but if you consider where Meliodas was coming from, his previous life as Commander of all the Military force of the Demon Realm under the rulership of his tyrant father the Demon King, you can understand why he made that remark about Harlequin).

The more I investigate Meliodas' story, the deeper I realised the character is compared to basically everybody in NNT. Some of you have criticized him as shallow or plain... shame on you:no

If he is shallow or plain, everybody else is also but to ((((52 factorial))))

You'd have a better time with this character if you just accepted that he had already being the Strongest Character in all of NNT, about to walk the same path as his Tyrant Papa until Elizabeth threw a monkey ranch in that plan by changing Meliodas' worldview, that all life is important & discrimination is a fundamentally destructive thing.

Once you stop the needless complaint of how overpowered he is (how can the next King of all the Demon Realm not be overpowerd? Common sense even dictates that the later surpasses the former) & recognised that all this was according to Nakaba's design, I think you'd at least find Meliodas tolerable.

The jouney for Meliodas has nothing to do with his power level considering that from day one (3000yrs ago) he already had the title of the "Almighty, Strongest Demon". It doesn't really even have anything to do with breaking the damn curse of the Gods (considering all Meliodas has to do is revert to his destructive old ways by tapping into his God-like powers & break the curse). His journey has everything to do with how he has tried to live a different life under the docturine of Elizabeth.

Right now, I think he might be on the verge of giving up (I'm even talking about his good emotion giving up) & just accept that once he activates his God magic & break the curse, he might fall into the darkside & disappear. Let us see if something prevents him from succumbing to his darkside. The body in the Human World in a sense currently represents the darkside, the emotions in Purgatory represents the lightside (which thanks to Elizabeth's docturine had grown, & thanks to his recent purgatory experience with Wild & Ban for 60 years had grown much more, possible matured). When the lightside of Meliodas confronts the darkside of Meliodas, I think the light would win this time around. The SDS would probably assist, Gowther should be able to translate the feelings of his comrades to Meliodas during that internal struggle. (It would be like a PoF moment but I won't have an issue with it considering how it is playing out thus far)

Honestly, as long as Nakaba goes in depth about what this magic can do, how can he activate it and more important: why he hasn't used it in the entire series, I'm gonna be fine with it. That is, if the explanation isn't nonsensical.

Anyway, theory time:

-I think that Mel's innate magic is not destruction but rather existence erasure. If you see the DK's arm it looks like if its vanishing, rather than being completely destroyed.

- If you are afraid of using something, that means you know what that something can do and what consequences will have. Thus, the most likely scenario is that Mel has already used this magic on someone and he knows that probably he can't control it. The question is: who is that person?

- I think the most likely scenario is that he used it on its own mother by accident, killing her in the process. Maybe she was someone very loved by Meliodas and he promised himself not to use this magic never again, because it could kill what is precious to him ( he can't control it). That's probably the reason he waited for Ban to leave purgatory before using it. Additionally, if he uses the full extent of that ability, he will not be able to stay in the real world anymore.

- Additionally when Nakaba answered the question of Mel and Zel having a mother he said that they believe they have one, as if someone messed up with their minds. My guess here is that Mel told OG Gowther (which was stated to be Mel's friend back then) to rewrite everything they knew about her mother, only leaving the thought of not use his innate magic.

This theory could probably explain why OG Gowther was imprisoned. The DK could have known about this accident and that is why he's so passionate in Mel becoming the DK. Because he knows that with that power Mel is probably going to surpass him.

What do you think?

Not bad but I doubt that even a single Demon knew about his Original magic power excepted his Dad of course.

This still doesn't explain why Meliodas never used such a power to save himself and Elizabeth from being murdered by the Gods.

There is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't have attempted to use such a power, even if it has consequences.

- I think the most likely scenario is that he used it on its own mother by accident, killing her in the process. Given how the Demon Queen wasn't actually confirmed in the manga but in a Q & A - makes me question the validity of this idea.

It wasn't Nakaba who answered the question, but his editor.

Hence the whole ''they believe'' isn't Zeldris or Meliodas, but the editor believing they have a mother.

This theory could probably explain why OG Gowther was imprisoned. The DK could have known about this accident and that is why he's so passionate in Mel becoming the DK. Because he knows that with that power Mel is probably going to surpass him.
We already have the reason of the original Gowther being imprisoned - it was because he was such a power magician that the Demon King simply couldn't ignore his presence and once he defied to join the Ten Commandments - was punished.

This makes sense, given how Gowther mind fucked the Demon King for billions of years.

How do you know he didn’t?

That was not the reason he was imprisoned. Where’d you get that from?
