It can be temporarily dispersed but it reforms itself right after, Erzas futile attempt showed that. You are acting like Mira is the strongest character in the manga, why cant nobody disperse it if Mira can't? Not that anyone can disperse it for good, its only gone if Ajeel is defeated or runs out of stamina (ie defeated).
Like I said,
the only reason Erza failed was because her AoE is very poor. It doesn't matter what attacks or armor she uses. She has one of the lowest AoE and Destructive Capacity in the series. Her attack potency makes up for it though.
In no way am I saying Mirajane is the strongest. What I said is that Mirajane has AoE comparable to that of high-tier characters like Laxus, Natsu, and Jellal. Her attacks may not match theirs but it's the closest thing you'll get. So my point still stands. If you're telling me Mirajane's AoE won't scatter the majority of the sand, then I don't see anybody else achieving such a feat.
In other words, Ajeel has hax magic and... Ajeel > All Characters
(I do not stand by this).
No, the dry blood on his stomach/lower chest area is from Erzas previous attack, not Jupiter. The blood around his face is also from Erzas attack, not Jupiter. The only damage that is a cause of Jupiter on his person is the burn on his arm and shoulders, and frankly its not that bad.
This was Ajeel before the Jupiter. It has no focus on his face though so he lacks the blood there in this specific panel (its there afterwards though).
I know the blood on his stomach is from Erza's attack.
Wait what?
The injuries on his upper chest area, arms, and face were all caused by the Jupiter Cannon... Erza was being choked the whole time. How would Erza be able to damage him? Why would Ajeel suddenly have blood appear randomly on his face? Here is a reference. I'm not asking you to read all this. Just scroll through the pictures and tell me how Erza caused all the injuries that you previously named.
The "blood" you're referencing on his face in the next few panels are more like scratches than anything.
Yes to Laxus, Jellal and Natsu but no to TO Chelia and Gajeel. TO Chelia needed two sources of outside help (Ultear and Wendy) on top of having super effective magic against DiMaria. Gajeel would have received a horrible defeat had it not been for DF.
Depends on your definition of a lot. She has certainly gotten multiple times stronger as she is now arguably stronger then:
Makarov + Tartarus Erza + Tartarus Natsu + Tartarus Lucy + Tartarus Gray + Tartarus Wedy + Mest combined. That was a force that Makarov deemed stood no chance against someone of Ajeels caliber. Erza put up somewhat of a fight. Her power inflation is not as great as Laxuses or Natsus or even Mirajanes (who used to be far weaker then Erza back on Tartarus) per say, but its not as low as characters like Juvia or Lucy either.
Well obviously TO Chelia and Gajeel couldn't have beaten their opponents without an outside source. Erza got help from an external source too... But the fact is that they still trained. Gajeel went from struggling with Torafusa to being Spriggan level. As for Chelia, even if we exclude Third Origin, she still improved a lot considering she was only Base Wendy's level before the timeskip (weaker than Ezel).
Keep in mind Erza went from being Kyōka + Demon Minerva's level (way higher than Torafusa) to Spriggan level (same with Gajeel). This is me considering that Bradman and Ajeel are on the same tier too. Others think Bradman is stronger which would make Erza seem even more lacking in improvement.
I highly doubt Erza got that much stronger. All of those characters you mentioned combined is more like Natsu's improvement. If anything, Erza is only on Jura's level.
The two are incomparable. Unless her MP can also evaporate sand this comparison is nonsensical. Her MP wouldn't simply perma push the sand around her, thats ridiculous. The sand around her was doing just fine in her battle with Juliet and Heine, they were fighting on a beach.
Was it evaporation? Or was the water being pushed back? If it was indeed evaporation, it would only support my claim. Evaporating a substance takes more energy than dispersing it.
As for her MP pushing the sand around her...
That is ridiculous. The panel literally shows water being scattered, not forming a whirlpool.
Well of course the sand on the ground was doing just fine. There is a difference between
sand particles in the air and
a pile of sand on the ground.
Okay put it this way... do named attacks generally outrank non-named attacks? Miralegria face-slammed the sword girls. I am sure if Mira actually has a named attack in this form it will be much stronger.
Starlight has the feat of finishing Ajeel, who is many leagues above someone like Juliet.
If you're comparing
the same character, then yes. If you're comparing
two different characters, then no. For example, it is valid to say that Erza's
Nakagami Starlight is stronger than her average slash. But can you say Natsu's unnamed roar against Bluenote is weaker than Gray's
Ice Make: Silver?
How do we know if Mirajane has a named attack or if that was one of her strongest attacks? Maybe she doesn't name her attacks. Thinking back, I don't even remember the last time she used a named attack besides
Macro. Her Souls/Forms are basically her attacks. Once she enters
Satan Soul: Sitri, she only uses unnamed nukes.
But again, is finishing off an already injured opponent more impressive than one-shotting a healthy one (granted that they are still weaker)? It could go either way.
They may very will be the same feat.
So Sitri nukes all of the ground without knowing where Ajeel is? Ajeel probably won't ever do this, but he could hide within the sand should an opponent be so powerful. This is obviously not Mirajane.
Mirajane's AoE is just so large that Ajeel
would still get caught if he were hiding in his sandstorm.
Besides, can't Mirajane still hit her opponents in mid-air with energy blasts like she did in the past?
Why is Mira a better match-up? I will say if we consider most of Erza's armours as cancelled by Ajeel's hax as a poor match-up I will agree with you. But as soon as Erza figured out Ajeel's sand she then was not a bad match up. When it comes to dispersing Ajeel's attacks, wind magic is the best counter. Mirajane has no wind magic. She's got AoE with nukes, albeit quite small ones in this arc.
Simple.
- Ajeel heavily relies on his AoE. Something that Mirajane actually has compared to Erza.
- Ajeel's only means of defense is Sand Body. Mirajane has nukes and magic attacks unlike Erza who uses physical attacks with her sword.
- Ajeel is capable of fighting in the air. Mirajane can fly unlike Erza who can only attack from the ground.
I'm not saying Erza was a poor match-up for Ajeel
only because of her attacks didn't work on Ajeel. The reasons above are more than enough to emphasize that.
No, wind magic is not the best counter for Ajeel's attacks. It is only
Erza's best counter for Ajeel's attacks. Mirajane doesn't need wind magic. She can disperse it with her MP, nukes, or fly through/away from it. By that logic, everyone who doesn't have
Wind Magic would struggle more than Erza. The only reason Erza needs it is because that is all she has. Not all characters are the same.
How strong do you think someone like Ajeel is compared to like GMG Kagura/Minerva? Erza's magic she doesn't have the AoE to give a guide to how much she's grown. So you compare her against her opponent. Finishing Ajeel with Starlight is easily a better feat than defeating GMG Minerva. Unless you want to claim Erza's got Spriggan wrecking power in the GMG, which makes her the very strongest in the guild pre-skip by a good way.
GMG Kagura and Minerva are fodders compared to Ajeel. The reason being the timeskip difference. Like I mentioned to others, improvement is not all about AoE. It's a combination of all your stats. In fact, the easiest way to tell if someone improved is by how they fare against their opponents. Erza struggled immensely with Ajeel while most of the other characters were able to beat their respective Spriggans with relative ease (not to mention that many consider the other Spriggans stronger).
I honestly wouldn't go as far as to say Juliet + Hynhe is on GMG Kagura/Minerva's level. We're talking about the strongest "lackeys" of the Spriggan 12 who were created by the strongest female...
Miralegria's stats don't go up at all. Only the duration of the form. The only way the duration could possibly be extended is to give her more MP. So this scenario is effectively giving Mira more MP. Actually a better way to say it is Mira's MP container is fixed at full.
I disagree. If we merely compare Mirajane's base form performance to her Alegria form, there is an obvious difference in stats. You're telling me that Base Mirajane would stomp Eileen's subordinates the same way as her Alegria form? Hiro Mashima even went out of his way to portray Mirajane's power increasing when he made her evaporate/push the water aside.
MP only determines how much more magic they can use. Basically, it is a measure of how long they can last whilst using magic.
No that's physical strength. Physical endurance would be to continue with damage and fatigue. This is something Mirajane has always been behind Erza in. For Mira to get to Erza level in this, she would need the feats. I say this because Erza's endurance is among the best in the series.
I'm not downplaying Juliet or Hynhe. They're good enough to give SS Mira a run for her money. When Mira got serious it was over. Natsu did the same with Bakel; and he only used a punch to end it in Base. I think it's possibly for Bakel to be stronger than Juliet, feats wise there isn't much difference. But I'm not going to speculate as there isn't enough feats from both.
I don't see your point... Based on what has Mirajane always been behind Erza in endurance? Mirajane was never shown to have poor endurance. So if anything, this would be inconclusive. The conditions placed in this match literally negates Mirajane's depletion of energy in Alegria form. So you won't see her tired the way she was after defeating Juliet + Hynhe.
If we don't consider Juliet + Hynhe fodders, than I don't see how any of this would go against Mirajane. I disagree with Bakel being stronger than Juliet. Bakel may look tougher but he solely relies on his brute strength. Juliet would melt him instantly. But I'll leave it as that.
I do agree Ajeel also got help from Marin. But that doesn't change the fact that when Sandworld was used, it was over.
Mira doesn't have a counter at all. Suggesting she does is absurd. Sandworld is Magnolia+ in size, and it's Ajeel's best spell. Stopping it would require an equally powerful spell (might not need the full AoE, but will require enough power to stop it). What can Mira do here? Ie what spell does Mira have that rivals the power of Sandworld? She can probably nuke some of it, but the sand would immediately blow right back again. That happened to Erza and she was using wind magic.
The reason why it was over when
Sand World was used is because Erza doesn't have a counter for it. I don't want to repeat myself but we can't apply all of Erza's disadvantages to Mirajane. That is unfair and is exactly why I say Mirajane is a better match-up.
So if Mirajane's AoE is not "large" enough to scatter part of
Sand World, who's is? This is what I'm talking about when I say this attack is constantly being overrated.
Mirajane doesn't need to disperse the whole Sand World. That would technically mean she nullified it. All she needs to do is scatter the majority of it so she can either see Ajeel or prepare an attack.
Erza cannot nuke anything because she doesn't have any nukes. Her "sword slash" proved futile because her AoE is just so low. Mirajane is different.
