I was wondering, do you think Baam will talk about his origins to his companions? If he does do you think he will reveal everything? And to who?
He revealed his relationship with Rachel to Boro during the first time he met him on the train that was headed toward Train City, he just freaking met him and just spouted everything, I doubt he will hide anything from his friends, especially Koon. I'd like to see how Koon react to it though, especially knowing how dirty the 10th families and Zahard are, and how complicated Baam's origin is.I was wondering, do you think Baam will talk about his origins to his companions? He was more naive back then, and I personally don't think talking about his relationship with Rachel is a big deal, they were friends and she betrayed him, these kind of stories are not uncommon in the Tower. Baam's origins are far more important than that, and plenty of characters have secrets they keep to themselves(Baam doesn't know much about Koon's past and his relationship with Maria, Androssi hides her real name for some reason etc.). I think at least Koon and Rak will learn about it but I am not sure he will tell them everything. And I don't think it would be with to reveal all of this to Yuri and Evan.He revealed his relationship with Rachel to Boro during the first time he met him on the train that was headed toward Train City, he just freaking met him and just spouted everything, I doubt he will hide anything from his friends, especially Koon. I don't think Baam will ever have a fix team with whom he will climb the Tower. Not to mention that the cast would be too vast, if you let Baam climb the Tower with a dozen of characters from the 10 Great Families.Yes you may be right that he will gather good will within all the families. I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of people that will climb the tower with him. Perhaps that means all the rankers are out. If that's the case then I propose that:
I also want to note that SIU once made a statement that the 10 Great Warriros are not only immortal, but also invincible. If that is the case, there is no Regular who can kill Zahard or one of the family heads without a huge breaking-the-laws-of-the-tower power up. So, even if Aguero and Ran become better and "stronger" fighters than Eduan, they wouldn't have the means to finish him off.I am not sure about that. I doubt there will be a typical clash of Team Baam VS Team Zahard in the first place, and adding too much members of the 10 Families like that in his team might affect the core cast. Not only are the 10 Warriors immortal, they are also exceptionally powerful. Among High Rankers born in the Tower, I think only Enne and Adori have been said to be able to match them.
How many among Baam's companions have the potential to beat such fighters? That sounds very hard, even including possible new characters from these families. With the Koon Family things could be more straightforward though, we know A.A. is trying to become the head and you can get what you want from a fight, Baam will certainly surpass Eduan in the future, and from what we know he could beat him in this game and choose A.A. as the next head, but I doubt Aguero would be fine with it, as pragmatic as he is. But as of now I doubt Koon can become strong enough to surpass Eduan, that's where Ran has a role to play, with what A.A. said about he being the most gifted of the Koon Family, it's possible he might surpass Eduan in the future, beating Maschenny is one of his goals too. I am expecting Eduan VS A.A and Ran or a battle between Eduan & Maschenny VS A.A & Ran.
We don't know, but if I had to assume, I would say that this message was given only to Baam and possibly Rachel for several reasons.I was thinking about Baam's (and everyone else's) usage of shinsu on the FOD. We know that Baam made a contract with the Guardian on the 2nd floor and was told that the contract was shackles rather than freedom. The first question I have is: was that message given to everyone (meaning to Regulars) or just to irregulars like Baam? I'm not sure how to interpret that line.
With an E-Rank Pocket, you are able to make a Shinsoo contract with the Administrators from the 2nd to the 40th floor. Regulars have to make a Shinsoo contract on each floor and they further need a higher ranked Pocket after the 40th floor. Baam's case is obviously different. In theory, an Irregular doesn't need a contract. But if you are too "weak", "inexperienced/unskilled" or "untalented", a contract may be inevitable. I think Baam still makes contracts with Administrators though. I guess, SIU would have let us known, if this wasn't the case. On the other hand, there was no perfect time, where Baam could have told anyone that he doesn't rely on those contracts anymore. So, anything is possible in Baam's case. Also, since the time Baam left that floor do you think he's been making contracts with the Guardians (administrators) on all the floors he has climbed? Is that a prerequisite to taking a test on a floor?
The Void Sphere? Are you talking about the technique which the God of Guardians taught him? I don't know why it should be forbidden though. It's a Shinsoo technique after all, not a spell. By the way, I doubt an Administrator would (and could) prevent the Thorn from working. Baam has used it on different floors for quite some time now, and no Test Administrator, no Ruler and no Floor Administrator had an issue with it so far.If he were to make a contract with an admin would he be forbidden from using his new Void Sphere attack? I guess the answer to that depends on whether a contract with an Administrator would prevent the thorn from working.
I think so, too.My initial interpretation of the meeting with Baam and the GoG was that he was teaching Baam how to manipulate the shinsu on his own without a contract, which would imply Baam has always had one up to this point.
I can imagine the administrator telling rachel she looks gross, evil and rotten. It seems to be a thing nowadays....We don't know, but if I had to assume, I would say that this message was given only to Baam and possibly Rachel for several reasons.
First off, when Baam met the Administrator of the 2nd floor, the Administrator noticed something about Baam after he checked if he is qualified to control Shinsoo. I think the Administrator realized that Baam is an Irregular.
Second, the Administrator said that for Baam, this contract is not a strength, but rather shackles. This sentence makes sense in the context of Baam being an Irregular. For normal Regulars, this sentence wouldn't make sense. Regulars can't control Shinsoo without a contract. In case of Regulars, Shinsoo controlling contracts means strength. For Irregulars, these conracts may limit them their entire lifetime.

He didn't know. That was the first lesson of the Wave Controller class.I can imagine the administrator telling rachel she looks gross, evil and rotten. It seems to be a thing nowadays....
I am not entirely sure this would be shackles only for baam. They all sign "contracts" with administrators. We can't really rule out guardians getting something out of this.
Odds are that baam didn't even know he didn't need a contract. If he makes the contract every time he arrives at a new floor at least. If baam was a bit more lenient then perhaps he noticed it did not affect his performance. On the other hand I can't imagine an irregular needing a contract to make up for his strength. The basic contracts merely involve permission to use shinsoo, they do not make the user stronger. Unless going higher up the tower means you are allowed to use more shinsoo but that is not something that would be relevant to baam.
Yes I meant Black Hole Sphere, although there is a ton of dispute about that translation. I'm guessing the GoG is restricted to using it in the Rice Pot because that's the agreement made between the GoG and... whoever governs the train. Outside the train it seems the GoG is restricted like any other Regular/Ranker based on his scoff at Baam actually thinking he's a god.We don't know, but if I had to assume, I would say that this message was given only to Baam and possibly Rachel for several reasons.

Yes that's exactly correct and this is the only contract we've seen Baam make. My point about the rubbing off of admin powers is just that anytime Baam interacts with someone's abilities he seems to be able to copy it pretty well and a contract with a Guardian seems to connect the Regular to the Guardian. It's a wild idea and probably bunk but I wanted to put it out there anyway. He didn't know. That was the first lesson of the Wave Controller class.
True, lol.I can imagine the administrator telling rachel she looks gross, evil and rotten. It seems to be a thing nowadays....

Even if the Administrators get something out of the contracts, which isn't far-fetched since contracts usually go two-way, the fact remains that Regulars can't control Shinsoo without that contract, and without it their chances to climb the Tower are probably non-existent unless they have the phyical nature of Urek for example. Literally speaking, these contracts are probably also shackles for the Regulars, but seeing that we weren't told of any crucial drawbacks and considering that making contracts is seen as normal, the point can be made that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for Regulars.I am not entirely sure this would be shackles only for baam. They all sign "contracts" with administrators. We can't really rule out guardians getting something out of this.
In Baam's case you are right, but in the case of Regulars the contract indeed makes them stronger if you think outside the box. As you said, the Regulars just gain access to control Shinsoo, they don't get an actual power up. But even that access can and should be seen as a power up. You have to be one hell of an underwhelming individual, if you can't make something out of that access.Odds are that baam didn't even know he didn't need a contract. If he makes the contract every time he arrives at a new floor at least. If baam was a bit more lenient then perhaps he noticed it did not affect his performance. That's not what I meant. Yes, first thing he learned is how to make contracts. But my point was about him not knowing he didn't need a contract. Perhaps even until this floor. He didn't know. That was the first lesson of the Wave Controller class.
That's true. As readers we know that Baam used shinsu without permission against Hwa Ryun and the rankers on that floor knew, but that doesn't mean they told Baam about it. I would think this is something FUG would have told Baam about if he was gonna be told by anyone. Otherwise it would have to be the GoG or Urek that tells him. That's not what I meant. Yes, first thing he learned is how to make contracts. But my point was about him not knowing he didn't need a contract. Perhaps even until this floor.
