btw do you guys think rachel is behind the bounty who tried to kill koon in the latest chap?

nope i think she(rachel) doesnt even know what is going on because koon himself said someone is using devil of the right arm as bait to capture someone
my theory is horyand or viole but since cassano said '' wait ilmar i will tell u later'' that person could be viole and why the bunny girl asked viole to be his light house bearer and couldnt ask horyang because it is part of plan

its baam's fault for sticking to her...he was literally glued to her...i mean she does not want you to bother her...so get a life and move on man... rather than that i find her boring and creepy...her only significance was that she betrayed baam which lead us to "Baam Part 2: Viole" ...which is pure awesomeness unlike "Baam Part 1" which was as boring as lahal to me... TOG part 1 side characters dominated...part 2 Baam Rules !! (coz of her)

Only thing i know is she is damn annoying, How in the world she became the best seed is a mystery. Not to mention she can sacrifice anything to climb the tower, which is OK but she has nothing in her to make her a good character. neither is she useful, she was Pathetic in the hide nd seek test
Well she was shown controlling at least 3 lighthouses in Part 1, whilst Koon was shown only using 2. If she really did come from outside the tower then she would have been as clueless about shinsoo as Baam was, so to be able to control at least 3 lighthouses in such a short amount of time would have certainly made her get best seed. I think this guy makes a pretty decent case for Rachel:

I wouldn't really say I'm a fan of her, but I'm not going to completely hate her when SIU says that she is his favourite character. I smell a redemption coming and if it's SIU then he may be able to pull it off.

The recent Manhwa Awards nominations got me thinking about this and, I'm ready to accept that Rachel is just a heartless @#$@%.

We can't really be sure yet, I think, but with what she did with Baam and how she tried to play Koon and the others she is a sociopath.

My feeling is that she has a more complex motivation behind her actions but in the end what she's done speaks for itself. Nobody lured her into the tower. Nobody forced her to make a deals with the devils to climb it either. There is nothing inherently wrong with her dream of seeing the stars but what defines a person is not a dream but what they are willing to do to achieve it. That's when we found out who she really was, IMO.

Even now, it's all someone else's fault in her mind; and that's even more telling. She under the delusion that she hasn't done anything wrong; and we know, as should she, that's not true. That's the thing about her I really dislike more than anything. The self deception. When I compare her to my favorite ToG character Androssi, who is also a monster of sorts, self awareness is a huge difference.

A part of my favorite quote from her goes like this....

"I really don't know any other way than this.

I'm not expecting you to understand me though, and it doesn't change the fact that I'm a devil either. But I'm just following what my heart tells me to do. Isn't it the same for everyone? Only, we weren't wishing for the same thing."

Rachel could never say something like this because isn't willing to take responsibility for her own actions. When Androssi has done something terrible she sees it for what it is and makes no excuses. She'll do what she wants, and make no apologies for it, but she won't pretend it's not bad. The strong eat the weak, and she's strong. That's the world she knows, and thrives in, and she knows that's wrong.

Rachel doesn't accept that hurting others to pursue her goals is wrong and that makes here a far worse person in my eyes.

Everyone seems to forget how she repeatedly stabbed Dan's legs. As if there was any doubt she is a heartless b!tch.

and she Killed some guys of the group i think. Not to mention pushing Baam out to die not knowing whether or not he will live, ya i know guys will say but she was doing this so that she can move up she has no choice but doing what she did pushed her to my dont like her list... not to mention she is srsly boring ( when she is being in the panel) but actually a good plot mover when she is not shown but her activities leads the plots

This is something that has been bugging since I started reading the manga not to long ago. From the first time Baam told his story and whatnot it is obviously weird that baam was alone in a cave and it is even more weird that only rachel was there.

All in all, it is extremely obvious Rachel put baam in the cave. Any other scenario is absurd. Looking back, we know rachel came and left the cave on her own and she seemingly had her own life because otherwise she wouldn't have had a reason to leave. If she had a life and there were other people out there... why not take baam outside? Why leave him there? There is no reason for her to do that but her specifically wanting him there. I guess there is a chance of some other story like protecting him from danger although that would be weird and inconsistent with rachel as an enemy of baam.

Rachel also said she feared baam.... Why? I guess she might fear baam's potential, assuming she knew of it before getting to the tower or even worst, she fears his wrath at him figuring it out.

Another big mystery for me is hasn't anyone suggested this to baam. In particular khun and androssi. They are powerful, intelligent and manipulative, such a thing falls exactly into the sort of thing that they should be able to figure out. In some occasions I have gotten the impression that the thought has crossed their mind but they haven't commented on it.

Any thoughts?

It's unlikely IMO. She knew nothing about him and when she got the occasion to go in the Tower, she quickly abandoned him. Baam is certainly a special being, I don't think she would have abandoned him like that if she know his story.

But she did abandon him there. Why else would baam be there at all? Rachel wasn't confined to the cave, she was able to come and go as she pleased. Presumably there were people where she went when she was not with baam. She wore normal clothes, she played games with baam, she could speak which is something she could only learn from other people. Still, baam never met anyone else, rachel never made any effort whatsoever to release him. Baam was some lonely kid in a cave who rachel visited. The only rational explanation for baam being in the cave is that rachel put him there and wanted to keep him there. Baam certainly is a special being within the tower however that could be a reason for rachel to keep baam in the cave.

Yeah, that scenario bothers me too. He is obviously there for a reason.

On no evidence, I convinced myself that Baam's cave is actually in the basement under the tower. He is a baby Guardian.
Everyone talks about the tower as if it starts on Floor 1... and for most intents and purposes it does... but it seems strange there are no Basement floor numbers that we know of.

As for Rachel, she is just a selfish B__ch, and doesn't warrant our time to theorize about her. :XD

I like the idea of baam being a baby guardian. It would be a nice twist and perhaps even an adequate explanation of his talent at manipulating shinso.

As for rachel.... the manga is kinda about her, perhaps even more than it is about baam.

I don't think that Rachel was evil at the start. I really believe she cared about Baam, the way an owner care about her pet. But when the pet was chosen above the owner, she simply snapped. Basically the shadow took the place of the light and she couldn't bear it.

Rachel, my love, wouldn't do something like that, she only goes for the kill. Burying some brat is stupid.

Do you remember that Baam build a small tower to the top to reach the light? He couldn't get out but Rachel could get in and out. So it could be her. She is also an irregular so anything can happen.

I was never under the impression that Rachel was the one who put Baam in that cave. Because of the theories I have seen in regards to Baam being Zahards son and all, I was always under the impression that Zahard himself or maybe a direct subordinate of his may have sent Baam to the cave for various reasons. I'm sure Rachel fearing Baam has something to do with the amount of potential he carries, the higher he climbs the stronger he becomes, I believe Daniel confirmed that before they got on the hell train. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Baams cave have the Zahard symbol in it? That just adds more oil to the fire regarding that theory.

I don't think Rachel put Baam in the cave.

Mainly because Baams remembers being in the cave without Rachel. And if you think about who sealed Baam in there. They must have wanted him to stay their. Yet Rachel basically lured him out. So she seems like somebody who screwed up the plan of whoever put him there.

I think Zahard put him there but I think there's going to be a twist to it. Like we don't really know how long Baam was there. So maybe they'll do a Kain and Able thing and it'll turn out to Baam and Zahard are brothers or some big twist like that.

The thought did cross my mind as well, but I don't think she put him in that cave.
I think it's more likely that this had something to do with Jahad, since his symbol could be seen in that cave.
Most likely it's about the Prince of Jahad...

I think Rachel simply saw Baam either as a project or kinda as a pet.
She thought him how to read and everything, and she didn't want him to know anything else from the other world, so that she would be everything for him.
I guess she liked being kinda worshipped by him...

The more we learn about her, the less it seems she had any feelings toward Baam.
I hope I'm wrong, but the author is really depicting her as a bitch who never cared much for Baam.
But you never know... maybe she's doing all of that (pushing him away from her, telling him to stop following her) to protect him or something...

I have been wondering about this for a while.... In the first chapter we see bam running behind rachel. he catches up to her and after a brief talk we see her disappear into what seems to be shiny door on the ground. However many chapters later we see how her meeting with headon went. Headon called her a fake and says she was not the one that opened the door. Then rachel cuts some kind of deal and is allowed to move forward.

So.... Based on what headon says it does not look like rachel actually did open the door. So....... Can we assume she just kinda sneaked in when ban opened it? Because that is somewhat literally what it looks like what makes sense with what headon says overall. Although that the tower can be cheated by loony tunes time chicanery is kinda retarded. Any thoughts?

SIU said million times that Rachel is an irregular. Repellista's guide said " the tower never opens its doors for just anyone, it opens its doors for something it needs" that tells us that Rachel couldn't cheat/sneak in the tower, the tower let both her and Baam in, Headon probably said all those things to pressure her and put her on the path to achieve the tower's will, which she's now.

My post in no form makes the point that rachel is not an irregular. We know for a fact that she is. The point of the thread is to discuss the circumstances under which she became an irregular, not whether she is one.

Well, it is possible headon was an asshole to put her on the spot however that hardly answers questions. The tower opening it's doors for people it needs is an odd statement because to begin with irregulars are people who open the door themselves. So which is it? Do they open it or are they allowed in? And regardless of the scenario, it does not negate the possibility of rachel sort of sneaking in. If anything, sneaking into the tower would make sense with either scenario.

Headon could have well been pressuring her but the situation is still odd. He outright told her to leave, which he didn't do with bam, and headon even seemed to allow her to skip the first test if she did something. So... an outright rejection, followed by an option to not take the test? It's incredibly odd.
