If you talk about Ki Zaru, the yellow monkey... no, they do not exactly look alike... like many pirates he whore a jacket with a collar... while the one with the axe, has collar cramped up, Ki Zaru has his down. Why would someone with a nickname like "monkey" actually use a axe? It totally differs from the characteristics we have our minds about monkeys.

2 things: Kizaru is an admiral like Akainu and Aokiji
and: why would a pheasant use ice? these are just names given to them by someone (Oda most likely)

they are not "just" names... I don't remember where is this all Admiral thingie explenation link around here that also might hint that Dragon was an admiral or something, but simply said, all of those animals have a meaning (+ the colors), so if Imitorar would be awesome as he always is, I'm sure he can find the link somewhere around here, might even be in the mega convos.

lol would be funny but he dosen't.. lola and her crew dosen't have zoro's shadow.. and if he had, had zoro's shadow zoro would get it back at this point:

aah too bad! oda had a good chance to show us some fun there....on the other hand maybe he figured out the flow in the choice of giving zoro's shadow to luffy......that would mean that luffy would never be in time to defeat OZ....luffy would have been lost foreever

I don't remember seeing a link to an explanation of the Admirals. However, I can tell you about the explanation Absolutio is referring to and the explanation I've seen that I like. Absolutio, you were hinting to the 4 direction beasts, right? But that theory works better for the Yonko, and it doesn't even hold water there, since Shanks is from the wrong Blue. The best explanation I've seen for the Admirals is that they're based off of Momotaro, an ancient Japanese story. Whether that's true or not is unconfirmed, and will probably stay that way, unless the story hints toward something later, but I doubt it. For now, I go with the Momotaro answer just because it makes more sense then holey theories that attempt to make Dragon something high-ranking in the past of One Piece. (There are A LOT of those.)

just noticed something, with this all mithology and stuffs he said the the west sea is connected with the color red, and that also the yonkous are having something with colors (Redhair, Whitebear), and apperently Shanks IS from west blue - http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/434/08/
But WB (bein white=east) doesn't seem likely to be coming from East blue, since Roger himself was from East blue, and 2 legends like them seem unplausible to come from the same ocean.

Maybe, but if your theory is correct and each yonkou comes from one of the four seas (and we aren't counting the Grand Line), then one of them has to come from the East Blue; so why not Whitebeard?

^ Not to mention that Luffy, Nami, Ussop and Ace all came from there. When Mihawk said East Blue was weakest, he was referring to it's standing as of that day--it's not like it was always the most irrelevant. WB being from there is plausible, at least.

I think it really is possible that Dragon was once an admiral. Especially now that we have seen more closely how things in WG really work. He could have gone rogue.
I also remeber that thing in Vivi's flashback, when there was a meeting of kings in Mariejoa. They said that Dragon will pose a serious threat to the world stabillity in a couple of years (or something like it). I wonder how they knew that.

On the other hand, it's been quite a few years since that happened. Why on earth didn't he get a replacement, if there were really 4 admirals?
Of course, we know too little about the subject, so I guess anything's possible.

There may be currently 3, because it's created after the legend and something like a fourth admiral would just seem false? Do you wand to destroy all of our theories about legends? There may be strong enough marines, but not with the responsibility and sense of justice they want. Quiet easy thought.^^ Garp is only vice because of the way he acts.

It would be cool if what he and Roger had was some sort of childhood rivalry. Constantly trying to surpass each other.

Ah, that thing from Vegapunk. I'd seen it before, I just didn't remember it, sorry. For the record, I reject any theory of Dragon being an Admiral as of now, because at the Meeting of Kings in Chopper's flashback, they said that "Dragon could become a problem in 5 or 6 years". (Incidentally, this Meeting of Kings took place approximately six years ago in the One Piece world.) If Dragon was an Admiral-turned-pirate, he would have been an IMMEDIATE threat. Of course, something may change later, but as of now, there doesn't seem to be much evidence from the story of Dragon being an ex-Admiral, just some cultural observations which might not necessarily hold true. If it does prove true, I'm interested in how Oda will slowly present the hints toward Dragon's past, and how he will explain how Dragon wasn't an immediate threat.
