This is so sickly, just because I recently rewatched some of the Marineford scenes with Ace and Whitebeard.

Well at least Luffy will know he's got another option with things with Dragon don't work out.

So, I was thinking about some "changes" I would make regarding the bounties revealed in the story...

I commented before how the author wasn't sure how large bounties would get. Nami reacted to Crocodile's bounty of 80 million as if it was the real deal, and Smoker implied someone with a bounty like that could wreck the world. Also Dorry and Broggy bounties were mere 100 million, despite it being said that the Giant Pirates "terrorized the world".

This is just a minor fix, but instead of acting like 81 million was a super bounty, it should not have been given importance. And Igaram should even have pointed out Crocodile bounty has been frozen for 20 years. Dorry and Brogy bounty should not have been revealed, and Mr. 3 should just have commented their bounties are crazy high.

Dorry and Brogy bounties should only have been revealed in Whole Cake Island arc during Caramel's flashback. The author would have a better idea of how high bounties could get, and they should have been given bounties of 1 billion each.

I think Mihawk bounty should have been revealed in the Mary Geoise meeting. I think it would have been more interesting if he had a rookie bounty... 200 or 300 million would be good enough.

Why was Robin given an increase from 79 to 80 millions? That's just weird... should give her 99 million. The maximum before she's ruled out from the Supernovas. lol

I never liked Luffy's bounty of 400 million. Should have been 500 million and that's all.

It was really cool to have "odd" bounties like God Usopp in recent arcs, and the author should have done that before. Sanji and Usopp should have been given a 100 million increase each for attacking the Tenryuubito. It would have been interesting if only the two besides Luffy were given a new bounty, and Usopp being higher than Zoro. lol

And Law's former bounty should have been 340 million, so it would not be gratuitously above the other Shichibukai. It's also the exact same as Doflamingo!!

Dressrosa

I don't see the point of giving Luffy small increases after the time-skip and Dressrosa, then suddenly giving him 1.5 billion. His bounty should have been 700 or 800 million after defeating Doflamingo.

God Usopp bounty should have been crazy high, at least 400 million.

I don't like Zoro's bounty of 320 million, it becomes too predictable that the "de facto" First Mate to have the second highest bounty. All he did was fighting Pica. I would have given him just 220 million.

And finally, Sanji's new bounty should have been 377 million. His connection with Germa was a major plot point. It would have been a big "huh?" moment for Sanji to have a large bounty despite being missing for most of Dressrosa arc.

What you predict bounties for Strawhats and maybe others after Wano Arc? I can only imagine huge increases all around.

Luffy bounty will now increase very slowly. First, his 1.5 billion is far more than he deserves. Second, he probably will get a lot of help to take down Kaido. Third, Luffy is an Emperor now, and that's how it is with the Emperors, their bounties increase little by little. So he will get increased by just a few hundred millions... maybe 2 billion if the author wants to keep a round number.

Zoro, Sanji and Jinbe will get 100 or 200 million increases. Dunno about the rest of the crew.

Luffy bounty will now increase very slowly. First, his 1.5 billion is far more than he deserves. Second, he probably will get a lot of help to take down Kaido. Third, Luffy is an Emperor now, and that's how it is with the Emperors, their bounties increase little by little. Well, maybe, in Fishman Island and Punk Hazard, we saw Luffy showing off his Haki and improved gears.

Dressrosa and early whole cake showed him pushed to the limit with his new gear and one of its variations and his level of Haki.

Late whole cake showed him with another variation of gear 4 and using/learning an improved/variation of observation Haki.

The first 2 acts of Wano showed him using/learning and improved/variation of armament, and improving his base strength and stamina with him being sea stone cuffed and put to work.

Seems like in addition to awakening his devil fruit, which migh end up being called gear 5th, he also needs to hit the next level with his conquerers haki as well, so at least 2 more big improvements, 3 if there’s a new gear 4th variation.

Maybe the thought was that defeating Doflamingo called for a Billion bounty, but they split it between the 2 captains of the alliance?

I’m curious, I know that Shiki is a canon character created by oda that was in a non canon movie.

The other movies that oda was directly involved with producing and making characters for, are their characters/villains canon characters that were just in non canon movies? Like Z, Tesoro, and Bullet?

I think it would be interesting if they were so that we could get some interesting name drops later, like how admiral Z and Sengoku arrived at God Valley after the battle with Rocks, or a floating casino owner who loves gold being name dropped as an underworld broker, or a former roger crew mate bullet who gets name dropped by like buggy or shanks later.

An interesting thing i found on the new bounties, i am not sure if someone mentioned this already, but apparently everyone's bounty except Roger's is a pun-related reference to their name or title etc. Got this from the podcast, Steve the official translator explains, anything under the billion part is clearly a joke. Apart from BB, he got this:

No kidding I just solved the riddle in Rogers bounty!!!!!!!

55 is Luffy's birthday
56 is Go Mu
64 is the sum of Adam (45) and Eve (19), or in other words Imu (Ibu+Adamu)
800 is the years since the Void Century.

So it means Luffy Gomu Imu 800!!!!!

Agreed. I was never a part of Orojackson but i tried others, been an active member since 2011 and i dont see any other discussion place having the same level of mods, or even the format. This worked best to discuss all manga, and still is.

There's nothing wrong with visiting other forums. Speaking for myself, especially since I get a lot of information from APForums; as they're mainly an OP forum, they have members that are either japanese or foreigners who live there, so have access to certain materials or news sooner. Plus the majority of our spoiler sources are from there.

That aside, in the same way I'd read the same news article from different news pages, I like reading discussions forums, just to gauge how the community is responding to certain storylines or if they're thinking similarly to me.

my bias aside, I like the format for discussion that we have here.

So I was thinking, and indeed Whitebeard joined the Rocks to give money to his hometown.

The Rocks are said to have been seeking quick wealth and fame.

Miss Bakkin was also in the Rocks ship. She is most likely looking for the treasure she witnessed Whitebeard collecting during that time.

Marco says Whitebeard has no treasure because he sent it to his hometown.
