Finally caught up. I just have one problem, why is buggy a shichibukia. Those guys are supposed to inspire fear (although buggy probably does this the most out of all current and ex due to his history with Roger, shanks, blah blah). But he isn't exactly a worthy opponent especially in the new world. Does he even know how to use haki? This guy got taken down by luffy before he even got a bounty, and as at impel down and the war he didn't seem to have improved in the slightest.

There's a One Piece Music Symphony in London on 7th February; can't believe I'm only finding out now, it's almost sold out :darn. It's such a great opportunity and with the chance to meet Kohei Tanaka too.

There had been one in France not too long ago actually:

One Piece's music has always been my favourite. It would be really nice to attend the concert. :)

Buggy is now on command of countless pirates from Impel Down. Even Whitebeard recognized him as a menace during the war.

Glad to hear that you finally caught up to the manga :). How did you like it?
To answer your question the thing with Buggy is that he got famous not because of his own strength, but because he had a bunch of Impel down soldiers join him and become his crew. Basically they did all the work for him, plus after he found the treasure that he was after, he became an important person(money huh). Last but not least he created an organization called the Pirate Dispatch Society, I'll let you guess what they do.
Buggy becoming a Shichibukai was more like a joke from Oda, but I always thought that his DF was underrated, he can evade all cuts, and even Oda said that he would have wanted to have that ability.

If you did catch up with the manga, you'd notice that it wasn't Buggy who is feared, but the escaped Impel Down prisoners who joined Buggy that are feared. Whitebeard himself said it - Buggy was harmless, but the prisoners following him would cause trouble for Whitebeard.

But yeah, Buggy's devil fruit is pretty powerful. He even survived Mihawk's slice-and-dice attack and raged, and he can apparently fly. It's definitely a sugoi fruit.

Ah yes, I remember them. Tho I thought they either left him or mostly died from the war. They're still somewhat fodder compared to the big shots but they were quite large in number. Guess that makes sense.

Quite the story. It is well written and even after so many chapters, there's so much to develop on. Its impressive really.

True. But I hope he's been developed a bit at least. It'd be a shame if he was still fodder in battle aside from the fact that he doesn't seen to be able to die. His ability could easily become haxed if he ups his fighting ability. He's just like usopp before the time skip. Can't actually do much but they somehow manage to hog the spotlight.

Yeah, would love to see him get stronger and more developed. Buggy is just one of those person that could be immensely dangerous... maybe he's the Aizen of OP? :derp

Uffff, sorry about this, I need to whine a little. XD
Man, I totally lost track of the discussion although I really enjoyed it two chapters ago.
This is what happened:
Last week, the new chapter came out, but it looked as if there would be a lot of important dialogue, so I thought to myself: "Hm, maybe I shouldn't read it right away, Mangapanda's translation is kinda unreliable."
Then my friend told me he liked the chapter, which made me wanna read it after all, but my neighbours had their bass booster turned up again... can't really read with that much noise. .__."
On friday I then thought: "Last week the japanese chapter was out on saturday, so if I wait for another day or two, I won't have to read those bad translations at all and I'll know what they actually say instead of guessing."
So I decided the wait would be worth it.
I was really excited to read the chapter and join the discussion about it, so I kept searching every day, like: "Is it up already?! *-*" ... "Hm, no. :/ Guess later..."
However, nobody uploaded it until wednesday.
Then I realized the new chapter would be out soon and the conversation about it was pretty much over. D:
What's worse, I've been sick the last few days, so I still haven't read those chapters.
Can't read anything here without spoilering myself either... T__T *unhappy*
I'm aware that probably nobody missed me, but I really miss posting here.
Maybe some people even thought: "Good, that annoying spammer ain't here this week!!"
Oh well. I figured the conversation thread would be fine to read and post in, so I can still come here (could have figured that earlier). o__ô
It's kinda hard to be part of a forum where you always have to stay up to date with the newest stuff.

No you don't, unless you get graded for that. Just read posts and if you still care, find a thread to post that in.

It sucks when you read the threads and they're full of spoilers. I guess we unconsciously ask of people to be up to date with the latest events. Not long ago I took a break from One Piece, the pace was very slow, so I decided to wait till there's 3 or 4 chapters out and then read everything in one go.I missed the interaction when the spoilers are out, but other than that I think I enjoyed reading that much material in one go. It makes much more sense to read those chapters back to back than having to wait for them to come out. What killed me is the wait and the urge of spoiling myself :D.
Glad to see that you're back though, you can post in the discussion after reading those chapters. But if you don't mind getting spoiled then you can read the discussions. It's up to you :).

I hope you are getting better. :^_^ (Did you catch a cold or something?)

I have read your posts and they are very interesting to read. I like the way you analyse the story in the chapter discussion and it gives an insight of the story in a different perspective. I have truly enjoyed it. :super

I guess I do share your sentiments in which I myself, in many times, am not able to post in every discussion thread of the manga I have read. In fact I have lost track of many discussions especially those which practically have more than 10 pages of them every week and by the time I want to join the discussion, it is over and a new week's chapter is out. Oh well... (* :loool at myself*)

You are always most welcomed to join the "no restriction of chapter-specific" conversation here and it is also a more relaxed way to talk about the manga or its related topic.

I hope to see ya around. Oh, which chapter have you read up to, so far?

:party

OMG, this is why I love this forum!
Everybody's so nice.

Yup. It's something you only notice when you are not up to date for some reason or other.

I used to do that as well and it's really more fun usually, but recently, what I enjoy the most is sharing the experience with everyone. :D
You check out the new chapter, then you come to the forum and go like: "Wow, this is [insert appropriate adjective and emoticon here]!!!"
Then somebody else will go like: "I think XYZ, what do you think??" and you go like: "I think ZXY because [insert analysis here]." and then it goes on and on.
I also really love mysteries, especially crime stories (who did what and why?), so this Mafia story right now is exactly my thing.
It's sad to lose a chance for making a prediction, because guessing is a pleasure when there are lots of hints given in a complex story like this... and if I guess some things wrong, that makes it even more worthwhile, because if I do get something right once, it will be even more amazing! ^^

I hope you are getting better.
(Did you catch a cold or something?)
Nah. I got stomach ache.
It's really annoying. And since I've been doing nothing but play video games (what else would you do in that situation?), now my arm hurts from too much smartphone and mouse holding. xD *stupidity*

Really??? *-*
I wasn't certain if maybe the posts were too long and wordy or if it's okay like that. But it's a lot of fun to do this. I shall continue with it ASAP! XD

Yeah, I usually read the chapters a bit later than they come out and then when I look at the thread it's like 7+ pages already and I'm like: "What, 8 pages?!! Okay..."
But then, it's usually fun reading all of them and I only wish I had been there a bit earlier, because it's weird to reply to someone who posted 5 pages ago, so most of the time, I don't. xD
Of course, if it wasn't only One Piece but also the other manga I read, then it would be really hard to read all of the discussions. Fortunately, there isn't much to say about Bleach since the chapters all feel so short and those are the only two manga I'm always up to date with. So it should be easy to keep track.

Oh, which chapter have you read up to, so far?
The last one I commented on.
"Humanity Declaration".
Actually, while it was fine for the most part, both Mangapanda and Mangastream had at least one line that was completely made up, so back then, I read both translations, compared them and wondered who was right in the places they were different and I got a bit frustrated that no matter which one I chose, it didn't satisfy me, it just wasn't "good". That's how I got the "wait for the Japanese chapter" idea in the first place. ._."

Looking back, that wasn't such a good idea, 'cause I ended up tricking myself out of something I really wanted.

Good to know that you are well and is back in your usual discussion. The quality of a post is not determined by its length. I don't mind either way - long or short post - as long as it makes sense. :^_^

Sometimes it may not be possible to read every post on the forum and therefore we can only be selective in our choice. So far, One Piece has always been one of my favourites, besides Fairy Tail and Toriko. I used to enjoy Bleach and Naruto a lot but the passion has lessened a little though I still enjoy it, just not as much as I used to. Like you said, the chapter is short and there isn't much to comment about.

I also read other manga which are not part of the mainstream or the Big 3. I just like a variety of stories to entertain myself, only if time permits (which is rare). :teehee

The recent chapters of One Piece have been quite different from the previous ones. I quite like the flashback story in which it includes Law, Rocinante, Doflamingo and the related parties like the Executives and Law's hometown. I recall that weeks (or months) ago, many people have been anticipating and speculating the incoming of Law's flashback. Now that it really happens, I guess it is a good move of Oda that he plans it so well. The whole storyline actually involves all those people who are needed in the story. This is so well-thought! :super

For anyone with money, Toho Animation is teaming up with craftsmen to create 4 swords from OP( Zoro's 3 and Law's Kikoku). It all sounds amazing to see the famous swords; I wished they'd do the same to some of the other weapons in the series and not just limited swords; Smoker's jutte, Neptune's trident, Whitebeard's bisento, Funkfreed, etc.

If I were to choose any from those 4, it'd be Zoro's Shusui. Kikoku has been made as a katana whereas it's a nodaichi in the series :bored. Authenticity, people!

That's just soo cool. Damn :verily.
If kikoku is a katana then it's shorter and you can't wear it on your back and look so badass :(
Yoru would look nice too. Of course in a nore humane size since it's huge, not as huge as Whitebeard's bisento though.
I am quite curios how Kitetsu1 look like sinve Kitetsu 3 looks kinda lame compared to WadoIchiMonji and Shusui

What a weird idea, but I like it. o__o
Guess they made the Kikoku shorter because the one in the manga is really long.
It would be kinda unwieldy in real life... not that you're supposed to run around with these swords anyway.

I'm glad to announce that we're bringing back the One Piece chapter reviews. Starting from this week, expect a review to come out every week based on the latest chapter. Our team of reviewers are working hard to make this project successful :).

Another thing that bugs me, Mihawk is supposedly the worlds strongest/greatest swordsman.
Shanks and his crew seem to be primarily swords men and he apparently isn't a DF user. So doesn't that make mihawk stronger by default? Although its probably this way because no one gets to fight shanks since he's a yonkou. Even though, mihawk shouldn't be called the strongest swords man if he actually isn't. Shanks might not fight much, but if he's stronger then it should be at least common knowledge for most pirates.
