Nojiko's tattoo looks like a simpler version of Law's heart tattoo. The heart shape and curl line is similar.

There was a nun in Law's flashback, and Bartolomew Kuma is often seen holding the bible, so it is possible that there is some religious people in OP.And then there's the comparison between the Tenryuubitos who are representing God, and the Ds who are God's natural enemy.
And there is the cross Chopper weared his neck during the Thrilliar Bark arc. But it would also mean the Roman Empire also existed in One Piece world, which doesn't work out.

I didn't mean Roger is One Piece's Messiah. I meant Roger has references to Jesus Christ's life just like other characters have references to real life people or events. It just seemed to me that there was a parralel between some of his actions into the world and Jesus'influence.
To be fair, the Bible history follows many clichés from hero tales, so any characters that resembles Jesus also bear similatiers to countless characters that came before and after Jesus.

@Lord Rayleigh,

That theory makes Robin Indiana Jones... interesting.... :P BUt yea, the period between B.C (before Christ)and A.D (After Death) is referred to as lost history too... it could mean that the story will possibly hold completely true from ancient history and Roger followed that footsteps.

Its a good theory, while I don't think it could be the case, you can hardly refute it. However, I am sure its a small sect which Oda takes from, Oda takes inspiration from everywhere and that ist he beauty of his writing.

"Super-deformed" doesn't really spark a lot of excitement for me, I dunno. Maybe they just phrased it wrong. I'm curious about what adventures the group will get up to. I figure it'll be something similar to the omakes we get in the Log & Data books.

For once, I'd like a spinoff that wasn't comical. It could be centered around other characters like the Supernova or the potential SHs, with Oda doing the story and someone else handling the art. I know the cover stories are similar to that, but it will be much more enjoyable if they were expanded. Other than that, I don't think I'd be missing much if I didn't read this spinoff.

I doubt we'd ever get a canon spinoff that wasn't handled by Oda himself; this is his baby and I don't see him letting go of any important story details to anyone else without him drawing it himself. It would be nice though to see One Piece's story through someone's interpretation.

Imagine what it would be like if Oda did the story and let's say Miura or Takehiko Inoue did the art :gaw.
But yeah I doubt Oda would let the important stuff handled by someone else, but seeing how a lot of events happen off panel, and clearly he can't show all of it ,it would be nice to have a spinoff that would be about something that happened in the manga, but actually expand on it.

Every other artist would only ruin Oda's work. He's the only person who can draw One Piece. His art is perfect for it.

I think I'm more interested in seeing other artists/authors interpretation of the story and the characters.
Here's an example:

This is a tribute from Takehiko Inoue, the author of Slam Dunk and Vagabond. I like it, his rendering of Luffy was nice, but I'm not sure if it would have been the same for other characters who have pretty unique features like Usopp or Chopper's forms. It definitely looks more mature, and I think many people who don't like OP complain about Oda's art. I got used to it, but I still don't like how he draws women in particular. Their proportions are weird and unrealistic.Oda himself said he admires Inoue's ability to produce such awesome looking drawings, if my memory serves me right.

I think Mashima would be fine drawing One Piece.

Yeah, it's fun to see those (I like his tribute, even though I'm not a fan of his art), but they don't compare to Oda. His drawings brim with passion. It has its shortcomings, but they're a part of it. Furthermore, I never really understood why people complain about his art. It's actually pretty good. But yeah, you don't seem to want someone else to draw the story. Sorry if I sound offensive.

I don't wanna sound like I complain too much, but right now it's good, it wasn't always the case lol. I think some people have a little problem with the art at first. And what I like about Oda's art isn't the fact that it's realistic, or appealing, but the amount of details he puts in it, and how he makes each character unique. Some characters have such unique physical features, add to that the clothing the expressions etc. It's what makes OP so special imo. That's why I think that on the long run only Oda can draw OP the way he's drawing it right now, by having maybe not the best art out there, but surely one of the most original ones. And I don't think it would hurt the manga if for once another artist took a shot at drawing it, even if it's just for one chapter, especially in the more serious moments, like the one we had this week.

If you superimpose these eyes on Doflamingo typical smiling face, he look A LOT like the Joker from Batman.
