Aohige from AP translated some interesting texts of the One Piece newspapers published in Nov and Dec of this year:

BTW, I heard there was an article in one of these One Piece Newspaper that Oda stated One Piece is roughly 60% through.
I'm trying to find the source of that info.

It's not an exact science by any means, and he actually said at least 60% through.

Reading the two editors (Takeru Isaka and Hattori Jean-Baptiste - Akira) interview couple of interesting notes

- Both editors testify they get scolded by Oda sometimes.
- Apparently when an editor is assigned to Oda, one of the first thing they experience is Oda telling them all the major secrets of One Piece, up to and incluing the end. (!!!)

The editor said as a reader of OP, it's somewhat saddening to learn all the spoilers ahead of time. I can see that.

When asked what sucks about being editors, they both testified Oda's obsessive perfectionist attitude getting in the way of deadline lol.
Apparently just the other day, Oda missed the deadline and it was hell getting the chapter in time. Oda's attitude is "The chapter is done when it's done".
As for editoral inputs, Oda mostly uses the editors as "first readers to read his work". He observe the reaction of the editors as a measure of how the readers would react. They testify they don't contibute much to Oda's work, since neither of them have anywhere near the talent Oda has, and it's sometimes painful that they can only stand by and wait, unable to help, when deadline is pressing.

Hattori says the most memorable scene of OP (for the chapters he was editing) was Sabo's comment about ashamed of his birth as a noble, and Dragon's shocked reaction to have such a young child come to that conclusion. It really drove home how talented a story writer he is.

Oh geez, it's somewhat hard to judge if being Oda's editor is cool or not. But it's interesting to know that the editors actually didn't have much of an impact to whatever is happening in the storyline of OP which I just find appropriate since I if they do, then it's a bit unfair to their side since they're not getting written credits whatsoever in the manga (or do they?). And it makes Oda sound more badass.

I hope we get interviews from Oda's assistants, too.

Seriously? It was just released in Japan yesterday (Dec. 15) so it's unlikely you can find anything on the net yet, at least subbed ones.

At the moment that link doesn't exist. There are only trailers. Here and in the previous posts to it, you can find several trailers, a review and also detailed spoilers, in case you want to read them.

It's almost impossible to get a link for new OP film in the near future- within one week or two weeks-A camrip might be released, but I don't think it's decent enough for your viewing convenience. Patiently wait for the Bluray/Dvd release, and within one month or so, let's hope some fansub groups pick it up.

I seriously doubt what's the function of editor besides collecting the manuscript for a genius like Oda. , Normally the editors do not get involved too much in the creative process when the Manga's condition is relatively safe. Editors are most important during the early development of the Manga after all.

I mean those who helps Odacchi with the artistic side, like the ones who help ink, apply tones, etc. Well, we do know Oda draws all the backgrounds in OP (which I think in other manga was the assistants' work).
