I have recently read this article on Eiichiro Oda and Hajime Isayama who had shown their support to the town folks of Kumamoto after the occurrence of a devastating earthquake.

Interestingly, Kumamoto is the hometown of Oda and his kind and encouraging words had reach out to thousands of people in his home. It is very touching, I must say.

There was a big earthquake in Kumamoto. (all of Kyushu) I was born in Kumamoto, it's my hometown. To those who were greatly affected by the damage, I hope you're doing well from the bottom of my heart. I was able to directly contact my family and friends, but they're all very scared. But they're doing their best. Everyone I got in touch with said things to put me at ease. They're so tough!! But there is a limit to how long people can steel themselves. Before that thread breaks, I want to calm them down somehow. It's crucial that adults don't worry their kids. Most of all, I want to make kids laugh! If they laugh, adults can do their best! It's still hard now for ordinary people to lend a hand, but I will definitely help with the relief effort. Stay strong, however you can!!

Besides Oda, the voice actors/actresses of Straw Hat Pirates were also supporting the town folks with encouragement.


Lastly, there were drawings by the authors in support of those affected by the earthquake.

Is anyone able to confirm if we have a chapter next week? I know May 2nd is part of the Golden Week holiday, but I don't see a double issue memo in the newest chapter.

The issue that comes out on Monday is a double issue.As you can see from the preview.

Again we get the chapter earlier than when it comes in Japan, usually around 4 days earlier, so this chapter(824) is actually supposed to come out next week on Monday(25th).

Having a double issue usually means that there is no issue in the following week.Although I'm not 100% sure if the magazine won't come out, since the next issue should come out on May 2nd, while it's May 3rd that is a holiday.However in Japan most people take a vacation for the whole week.

I would still take it with a grain of salt.And wait till Monday to get the confirmation once the preview for the following issue is up.

The week that comes after that should have the magazine be published as usual.

And actually the chapter only says when the author is taking a break, not when there is a holiday or a double issue iirc.

Yes, due to the Japanese holidays, there will be no Jump on next Monday, 2nd May. The next issue will be on 9th May, which means that we will have One Piece chapter next week.

He's not the only D in the Marines. Jaguar D Saul was also a D. The Marines aren't exactly the Tenryubito, and if you have noticed DD brushes off all the talk about Ds and them being God's natural enemy and calls it superstition.
And if the CDs really cared so much about Ds then they would have done anything to wipe them out, but they didn't. So it's likely that as long as they don't oppose them they don't represent a threat, and it doesn't look like the CDs are going out of their way to kill every D out there.
As for the Ds themselves like Luffy they're not aware of the God's natural enemy thing, simple as that.It's actually Corazon who told Law about it, Law didn't know about it prior to that.

In Japan there's a trend where people decorate their cars with manga and video game characters. It's called Itasha
The car is also called Itasha as a result which means "painful car" in Japanese.
And if you google "One Piece Itasha" you'll see plenty of exemples of cars decorated with OP characters

Yes, I agree. He has been constantly researching to strengthen his battling skills and his "monster point" is already very powerful at this moment. If only the World Government/Marines know about it, they will surely increase his bounty tremendously.

that's so friggin' awesome! I love it!

I know, but... you never know! Lately I've seen some fanprojects where different artists get together and whatnot and they animate a whole episode from a certain series with their own art. Maybe OP will get the same treatment some day :3.

But yeah, I wish something was done regarding the anime :/. A few days ago I decided to check on the latest 5 episodes of OP, and for the first time ever, I was just skipping through them, something I never, ever done before. Out of 23mins there's only like 5 mins worth of stuff, it's really disheartening.

Can't remember what was the last OP episode I watched.

I think I remember someone who works for Pixar or Disney who is a huge fan of One Piece. He even did illustations of OP characters in his own style. It's so interesting to see OP characters drawn with the "Western" style.But for the love of god I can't find it.

Some of the earlier movies, like Baron Omatsuri featured some interesting animation, I liked that style and it was more experimental. They need to hire/rehire that animator since there's various animators who work on different seasons of the anime, and they all have their unique style.
