I’ve always said that the Zoro vs Judge’s Son debate should be forgotten and the main power scaling debate should be Luffy vs Zoro.

This whole Sanji vs Zoro thing is strange since Sanji has never been shown to be as strong but eish some people just cant accept that other people are stronger than their fav character

If anything, what Zoro has in common with Sanji is that he barely has done anything post-timeskip.

What I don't understand is why every time Zoro does nothing, it somehow serves as hype to some hidden power... while Sanji is rated more accurately.

I don't get why some fans hate Skypeia.

It probably foreshadowed plenty of things about how to reach Raftel too...

What I don't understand is why every time Zoro does nothing, it somehow serves as hype to some hidden power... while Sanji is rated more accurately.

Lets see since time skip Sanji fights :

1) Wadatsumi; needed Jinbe to help
2) Vergo; broken leg
3) Doffy; toyed with and almost killed
4) Bege; submitted to him without even fighting
5) Judge; got beat pretty easily
6)Yonji; won of panel
7) Niji; got beaten black and blue
8) i dont think i need to go on

While Zoro on the other hand

1) Hyouzou; no diff win
2) Monet; showed advanced CoA and low diff character who toyed with Luffy
3) Pica; mountain man whose punches where the size of a town
4) Beating supernovas
5) Need i go on?

When Sanji does something related to fighting he fails while Zoro doesnt, Sanji fans cant accept this while forgetting Sanji's character is not to win fights but to ensure victory for the war, on each and every time Sanji was shown to look bad in a fight he managed to achieve his goal: defending Tashigi and G5 from Vergo; saving Nami and the others from Doffy; letting Judge win faster so the innocent soldiers wont be used as shields anymore; running from Page One after stopping him from rampaging and injuring innocent soba shop owners; etc....... and that is his WIN, but why do you Sanji fans keep trying to match him up to someone who is stronger in a fights and never loses ill never know.

Skypeia changed up the formula. What was once a character driven narrative became lore driven and well-

Lore is boring to sit through (...if you're not invested). Which, at that point, with how little the story actually mentioned its lore... kind of set itself up for failure.

Had it been the first arc of grandline, it probably would've been received better. Entering such a hyped place in the story, I imagine the fans were halfway expecting an info dump like skypiea.

Care with your Twitter cause Shueisha's attacking, I had to delete a few images of One Piece as to avoid a copyright strike from them, read up on the law they passed I think 2019 or 2020 that is taking effect this moth regarding images and clips of their work.

Edit: Ok I have been told that even if its just fanart you will get a copyright strike, and that other social media outlets will be targeted, hopefully, that Shueisha bot that's doing this won't reach this forum and youtube since that would just be..............

I'm loving how hype One Piece is right now in manga and anime form.

i think this is the first time i've appreciated a break in one piece....it makes 1000 chapters feel like a milestone and allows us to absorb the past chapters more than just anticipate the next...

this is the least i've contributed and most i have absorbed about One Piece and loved it. I've tried to catchup with older chapters and have a new appreciation for Skypiea now... The way Enel was portryed reminded me of the time i first read it and thought if this was going to be the final battle. Still a naruto fanboy back then, i was critical of how Luffy just takes by advantage will beat Enel... And then came LUffy's line" there so many people stronger than you"... Looking back, One Piece has linearly scaled power levels inspite of being vague about fighting techniques... I think by the end, most of the lose ends including power levels we be clarified. an
Even character development, Chopper was still new to the crew and wanted to prove himself. Robin stil spoke to everyone as if she just met them and is still surprised with antics of the crew, and still emotionless... Its almost like she is scared to completely open up but starts to do so... It also gave her a purpose to keep looking and never give up.

1. 39 years ago... 1 year before God Valley... Roger reached Lodestar Island (Island at the end of the Poneglyp)... he's the only one to have ever successfully visited Lodestar Island at this point in time.
2. Lodestar is where one finds out the importance of the Poneglyph.
3. 38 years ago... Rocks was defeated at God Valley.

We know Roger has been interested in Poneglyphs... and Rocks was also interested in Poneglyphs too... I wonder if their battle was related to Poneglyphs.
The odd thing is Roger went to God Valley to fight Rocks... whereas one would think Rocks would go to Roger who had been to Lodestar to acquire information or force it out of him. I'm guessing Rocks had a Road Poneglyph and Roger challenged him for it.

Just surprised that Rocks (if my assumptions are correct) knew the Road Poneglyph was important. Maybe it's just the Streisand effect... the WG tried to hide Poneglyphs.. but in doing so, it garnered the attention of some people.

It seems Oda set his limit at 16. Despite hanging around for a while, Sanji never showed any interest on Carrot who is 15.

After looking at that highlighted part in Mihawk's VC that you showed (i did not know of this before ) ; i think that Luffy showing 3 fingers while telling to Law that he will take down all the Yonkos foreshadows not Shank's death but instead Shanks being taken down by Zoro 1 on 1 & not Luffy.
Zoro vs Shanks might be the semifinal to Zoro vs Mihawk (who should be Prime Rayleigh level atleast who himself must have been stronger than Oden as he was the VC in Roger's crew. Prime Rayleigh must have been 2nd strongest & above Scooper Gaban & Oden).
Besides , having a Yonko level character in a PK crew is what delivers to the hype of being the Pirate King.
Anyways that's just a speculation from me at this point.

Figured I'd bring this here, but this could be interesting (interaction wise). I dont expect Shanks to be a setup for Zoro Vs Mihawk. That's extreme. However, just like Shanks told Mihawk about Luffy several years back and then Mihawk returning to tell Shanks after he met Luffy, maybe Mihawk also told Shanks he met someone (Zoro) under Luffy who can potentially surpass both of them.

Then when Luffy and crew finally meets Shanks, Zoro does something impressive and Shanks either comments about that, telling Zoro he's ready or not ready to face Mihawk or it could just be an inner monologue. Wouldn't expect SHs to go on an all out battle against RH so there could still be chance for Shanks to meet up with Mihawk later and mention meeting Zoro so it all comes full circle.
