My guess is the movie will not involve anything manga plot relevant to Shanks. From the poster and descriptions, I'm betting the new character that will be introduced is going to drive the plot and she will be tied into Shanks.

Having Shanks related stuff on the marketing material is just for sales in my mind. I wouldn't be surprised if we only see Shanks at the beginning to introduce the character through some flashback and maybe at the end he will show up to where events take place in the movie to make some commentary.

By nature, it *can't* do that.

I would like Shanks's real name to be revealed in the upcoming "RED" film. Perhaps, Shanks is part of the "D" clan, too.

1) Shanks is, was, and always will be "just some guy". No secret Celestial Dragon lineage, no secret D. name, none of that shit. Just a regular-ass dude.

2) This is a side-story that has nothing to do with the Strawhats, sort of like that Ace novel that Boichi drew.

I have a really hard time thinking 2 is even possible, because of editorial mandates to have the main character X% present in any given adaptation. Which if Luffy has to be in the movie- barring some sort of dueling-narrative structure- leaves only two real possibilities: it's before or after Shanks leaves Foosha for the last time.

It's also possible that 2 can technically happen, as long as there are numerous scenes where Luffy is on screen. Like I said, could be a dueling-narrative structure, or simply have Shanks have multiple flashbacks to Luffy or reading about him or whatever. Might even have been spying on his progress at certain times in the story that we don't know about.

Seems the reason why Enma is credited for being the only Sword to cut Kaido despite Oden also wielding Ame no Habakiri... might be because Enma is why Oden was able to release the entirety of his Haki, and as a result was able to cut Kaido not just with Enma, but with his other sword. More or less, Enma was responsible for the power output.

So, Robin's form against Black Maria isn't random, it's actually a type of flower. Her ability is more or less the ability to create flowers and in different volumes.

Either it's a new technique, or a form of Awakening.

I still do not understand what benefits that form gives Robin. It's the same as the gigantic Robin but darker.

Personal opinion: Robin with haki would have been more OP imo. She got one of the hax fruits in the series
