I should have mentioned in my other post, Yamato seems to be a version of the old trope where a father who wanted a son raises the daughter to be the son he always wanted, instead. It's a reoccurring theme throughout OP how important it is to have people with whom you belong. In rare cases (like with Sanji and for Robin when her mom was away) where people have abusive or neglectful caregivers, they can find new family instead).

Like how Oda had a dojo owner's daughter feel like she had to be a boy to have more worth as a swordsman, after the dojo owner told her that a woman can't be the strongest swordsman.

That's also a very good point about what you said about having people with whom you belong.

Sanji was abused by Judge and found Zeff to be his father figure he spent long-term with.

But with Yamato, she never got to spend a long-term amount of time with people like Ace or Ushimaru after being abused by Kaido, so she never really had that family surrogate that Sanji and the other Straw Hats had.

So seeing as she's with Momo now, maybe Momo can be the Zeff, Dadan, Nojiko, Iceburg, etc. in Yamato's life that she never had before.

Or how about this: rather than Momo, who may be more mature than Yamato but is a very busy 8-year-old, how about Oden's own father, the last Kouzuki who (probably) knows the method for carving poneglyphs?

That’s another thing, not just Sukiyaki, but thinking back, Oda didn’t have any flashbacks of Oden spending time with Yamato, in the last five years Oden was in Wano, when Yamato was between the ages of 3 and 8.

It’s interesting, because Oda could have had all these flashbacks of Yamato and Oden, or even Sukiyaki, spending time together, like how Zeff and Sanji did, or how Franky and Iceburg spent time together, yet he ended up having Yamato with all those scenes with Momo instead.

Potato kuma is definitely still moving. He was seen about to block's kizaru's attack. So he isn't more of a potato than he was on his way to egghead. As I see it vegapunk made sure that kuma ended up a potato after the self destruct was triggered by saturn but he is still protecting bonney through some shenanigan. No idea if there's really a path for him back or not but to me it's not obvious that he is "alive". My last bet on this angle would be that vegapunk studied kuma's memories and has a hard copy and can use it to restore kuma to his pre potato state.

Nika has the ability to liberate those from the chains of oppression, insert more bull shit gods go brrr powers.

Actually, wouldn’t Bonney be the first character in this series to accomplish two dreams: she found her dad and found Nika. That’s two desires achieved right there after sailing out.

-Fought and defeated grown men when she was 8.

-Defeated a Cipher Pol member with a single Gear 3-like punch.

-Managed to injure Marshall D. Teach, who is a monstrously durable man, by kicking him in the head.

-Fast enough to run towards Luffy and send flying with just one kick before completing his attack.

Makes me wonder how Bonney's fighting will be like after this arc.

I find it funny how people act as if the crew was always set in stone as if Oda can't add anyone anytime he wants, even though Robin was an afterthought added in after his initial concept for the crew.

Based on what was previously said:

I def think it makes more sense that Kaido wanted a son to inherit the seat of shogun, and that just conveniently fell in line with Yamato wanting be manly and have freedom like how Oden did.

Seeing as how this is the same manga where Kuina was rejected for strongest swordsman due to being a girl, I think this is valid to bring up.

In my view, Kaido wanted a son similar to how Kuina’s dad wanted a son.

To claim Kaido called Yamato a son because Kaido respects Oden and/or respects Yamato doesn’t make sense to me.

Since I’m bored @Pirate Queen here is my two piece yonkos I’ve excluded kata for being too old and I think law retires to being a doctor post one piece where as Kidd remains a pirate. My time frame is 20 years in the future . And all pirates being part of the time frame of pirate king luffy.

It'd be a truly unexpected and welcome twist if Luffy reluctantly became her mentor and started training her. Luffy doing either of those things is comedy gold and Bonney is the perfect opportunity for Oda.

For as much as there's opposition for Luffy taking on a mentor role since he's not trying to be a mentor to begin with, if Oda wants to do comedy with Luffy being a mentor, then this is prob the best opportunity for that. Luffy already showed willingness to teach Bonney how to punch, so I'm sure he'd be willing to teach some more if Bonney asked him.
