I wonder how important it is that Sanji was introduced in the World's Strongest Swordsman intro arc and he is number 3 to Zoro being number 2 in the crew and they have a rivalry.

Well Mihawk and Shanks. Mihawk was said to be a better swordsman that Shanks, who is a Yonko.
The Zeff, Sanji dulling same spear he has as Zoro and Luffy. Zoro and Luffy shown to be advanced Conquerors Haki users. Then you have Sanji is a psychological trauma. We saw with advanced CoO user Katakuri that CoO, requires concentration. Hints that Sanji's possible ability to manifest Conqueror's Haki is what the Zeff speech eventually is.
The other part, Mihawk choosing not to pursue being a Yonko but his power was enough to make someone be considered a Yonko.
Matches all the Sanji behind the scenes persona.
Not to say Sanji is stronger than Zoro but there may be importance in Sanji introduced in the same arc as Mihawk.
Though he was not in the chapter we got
Shanks - Father is a Holy Knight Celestial Dragon
Mihawk - World's strongest
Zoro - Wano nobility but not as direct heir to throne
Sanji - Nobility direct heir to a throne
I added Shanks for the rivalry with Mihawk. And this is mostly what we learn about the characters after.
All three of these, except Sanji happen to be significant in the One Piece World.
Mihawk - Warlord, Shanks - Yonko, Zoro - Supernova
There are no other future titles but I would presume this is a hint of Sanji and big things to come for him rather than the downplay we frequently get like (the missed rooftop)

Man, that OP trailer looks excellent. Also the budget seems higher. I almost can't believe how much they nailed the giant look in the trailer. We didn't see any of little garden though... I figure little garden must be hell for a budget though I don't know how they can do the dory and brogy arc without it. I hope they improve the effect of long ranged slashes soon. Mihawked looked pretty good in the first season but the effect needs more of an anime feel than it got for it to work out in fights once they become more common. Though it'd honestly be a miracle if the anime lasts long enough for this to be an issue. The budget is probably the series' biggest enemy.

I wonder if Blackbeard has acquired at least one of the fruits Rocks was looking for.

What Whitebeard does in the latest pages of the story there on the Rocks escape is the type of power I want Sanji to have. Something destructive. They already show Jinbe, Luffy and Zoro to have such capabilities, and possibly Yamato to. Sanji they really have not shown to do anything that is just jaw dropping. Yeah the defeating Queen but nothing that is show offy.
I definitely feel like Oda could give Sanji, a kicking ability similar to what they showed Zeff do to the flaming whatever was sent his way. It fits, since Sanji already kicks air to fly so to speak.
Either some kicking ability or some devil fruit. Of course Whitebeard has more of unique kind of ability even amongst devil fruits. But something that would create excitement towards fans for him.

Understandable crashout. Even the most polite and mellow people have boiling point.
Looking forward to this in the anime.

I had no idea either:
Here‘s some more context
He was one who knew how to calm down the Mountain God back in Oden‘s flashback

Funny how I didn’t feel one bit sorry for Lizaru in that panel

It is interesting, if Garp survives I think he defects. The he was made to be a pirate thing is a hint. Literally raised four pirates basically.
Once he learns the ideals to push for the Giants in the Navy would have aided in evil plan of the Celestial Dragons he hates

So... there's no Thor figure so far in this conspicuously viking-mythos story. It obviously has to be Hajrudin, but how will he fit into it?

He needs to do something that makes me not like him because right now? I love him.

Him being the traitor would do it. Great guess
There's a traitor for sure, and none of them would hit hard (though some like Ochoku seem like an obvious pick). Rocks betraying everyone in anticipation of himself being betrayed would be pretty on point for Blackbeard's Daddy. Also would retroactively give points to Kaidou's characterization about pirates inevitably betraying each other. He just happened to be a few years more mature than Loki when he joined Rocks, those parallels are really tightly wound.

I came to the exact same conclusion. After all Rocks did gather his crew like tools for his toolbox without any friendly emotions being involved. It was just about power. So disposing of them once their purpose is done is not a reach IMO. With our current knowledge I still think one of his underlings was a rat feeding the navy or the WG with intel on Rocks‘ plans. But might be that there‘s a deeper motive and I would not be surprised if Rocks turned out to be the one that leaked all the intel himself.

On a totally different note I just found another Nika foreshadowing while rereading Marine Ford Arc. (Dunno if it was discussed over here already)

I was thinking it could be Kyo since I think he's related to Drake in and that would be an interesting parallel, but I can see it being Rocks too.
Besides who's to say there's not more than one.

Hyogoro mentioned that Luffy's Gear 4th resembled a guardian deity, so he could turn out to be a guardian of Elbaf as a result.

I'm hoping beyond coping that Ida will somehow survive this flashback, is totally fine and alive in the modern day, and will survive the rest of the story. Because I love Ida.

She‘s just a perfect hum… I mean giant being and a wonderful loving mother. Correct me if I‘m wrong but lots of good mothers died rather young in One Piece.
That said I hope you are right on the call.

Damn near every one of them dies young. And then there's characters like Dadan or Kokoro to fill in the maternal gap left by otherwise mysteriously-absent mothers.
