Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

We know that Kaido is simply too weak to push Luffy to the extreme. Only people at the peak like Shanks and Blackbeard can do that. This is why Luffy can use Novice CoC( according to Kaido, his CoC usage was clumsy), and a Non Awakened devil fruit to beat him.

Mastered Advanced CoC is a huge power up.
Awakening is also a huge power up.

I want to see Luffy vs Shanks. A real opponent. Shanks can actually fight

No way. Kaido has taken dozens of advanced CoA Gear Fourth attacks, multiple advanced CoC attacks from both Luffy and Yamato, and countless miscellaneous attacks from the other Supernovae (a weaker Law's Gamma Knife alone was considerably threatening to Doflamingo) and the Scabbards (Sulong Neko and Inu are insanely powerful, as are Denjiro and Ashura Doji).

Luffy has been knocked out multiple times by single attacks of Kaido. He's not staying conscious after all of these, but he might survive.
The others are out of the question.

Except Luffy alone has been beaten about 4 times by now. Kaido has fought nearly 20 other characters, of whom 8 were Yonko Commander level, and 2 were above that.

Kaido is confirmed to be the strongest pirate, anyway. Shanks and Blackbeard, as of now, are weaker. They will likely be beaten in a 1 on 1 with a stronger Luffy, but that does not mean the same Luffy would beat Kaido. A stronger Luffy is not necessarily stronger than current Luffy, Yamato, the Supernovae, and the Scabbards combined; even EoS Luffy is debatable.

He only partially evaded a Thunder Bagua, so he never tanked one, to be fair.
We know he got knocked out by a direct hit of Ragnaraku, though.

if we're to believe what's been said, Kaido should've felt very little pain thus far... so anyone really

if kuma's ability recreates the attacks and they have to "relive" them... Big Mom and probably jack (i don't think anyone there wants to eat a neck slash from zoro)

I was moreso going with the latter option. As for the former, it's hard to say how much Kaido has felt any of this, honestly.

But both see getting to Raftel as a requirement to becoming Pirate King, not just being the most free. Vivre Card shouldn't also be taken seriously, and if he really is that strong then why wouldn't Kaidou challenge him?

I think when they get strong enough as yonko, they can all be considered invincible. Even though technically if they fought each other someone must lose. Just as titles aren't to be taken literally. It's all just a way of saying these guys are incredibly strong.

the word skill-Ed was never used.
“strongest” was. He has the title of the “strongest creature”

Strongest means - Able to lift heavy weight or physically demanding task ; Able to withstand
Great force or pressure.

Creature is an animal distinct from an human; or Human or Animal.

Kaido is an Oni(?) who ate a Mythical Zoan..I.e Referred to as an creature distinct from an human.

Manga shows why he has this title. He’s incredibly strong & has withstood enormous amount of punishment. He’s the strongest….lol

The titles are just that Titles. But they were attained and given for a reason. Mihawk has his title because he is the most skilled & the strongest swordsman. Strongest isn’t the focus it’s swordsman, as with Kaido the focus is creature.
