Discussion Over-hyped magic

Enchantment - it can attach or detach Magic from objects, it's pretty useful Magic overall, but is it useful in battle? If small Lucy still can fight, I'm pretty sure that "mouse Natsu" also can do something.
Mass Manipulation - the same as Enchantment. Useful overall, but is shrinking or enlarging really that powerful in battle? (if we forget about insta-kill)
Thorns - just thorns, the most powerful Mard's magic is just summoning thorns o_O

Special category - "under-hyped magic"
Memory Control - Mest can turn Spriggans against themselfs, can brainwash enemy to make him ally, seemingly he can do it also to stronger mages (Brandish), so why anybody cares?

Universe one is the worst by far you all have to admit it, for Irene to just pull that one out of her booty cast it and then still have the MP to fly to mira's location and beat her is what really rubbed salt into the wound for me. Oh yeah and just before the latter she also cast that super all seeing sky eye thingy that's also insane.

In no particular order:
Bluenote's gravity (which base Tenrou Natsu resisted and Gildarts was unaffected by)
Fairy Law (has only defeated Jose, who, like Bluenote, is fodder at this point)
Various slayer techniques (stuff relating to Natsu, Gajeel, Gray, especially)
Gildarts crash (people still think that Gildarts is FT's strongest mage...)

Probably a few more that I'm missing.

1. acanologia's dragon slaying magic - i mean lets be real were going to complain when he dies to natsu
2. zeref's death magic - people are going to tank it and people are going to complan
3. Enchantments(non curse) same reason as gildarts likely her magic is strong because she has insane amounts of mp
4.Crash - gildarts is strong his magic is very useful but likley only able to negate magic from a user weaker than gildarts. ie he shouldn't be able ti negate natsus current magic assuming they are close to equal.
5. larcade's magic- lets be real he might be hyped to take acanologia but he won't

But you must remember their Spriggans who were taught magic by zeref so it would kinda make sense if there to op

- God Serena's 4-8 DS lacrima spells

I think is very overhyped too.

There is no difference in power by having 4 more element types. If Serena has secret arts and roars (not Historia) then that is what people should hype him for. And if he had DF or has mixed element modes (those are pure speculation).

The extra elements add versatility and resistance to elements.

Couldn't agree more. His secret art spells would be the only factor in his overall increase in potential.

The elemental nature of each lacrima doesn't give him an extra boost of power, that would only give him a larger arsenal.

I would also agree that his DF and mixed element modes are pure speculation, especially since he is a second-generation DS (neither Laxus nor Cobra has shown to be capable of DF).

I pretty much agree on all points regarding what you said above.

I think it's overhyped. It has some good advantages, but the organ busting stuff makes it too hyped, to the point that it's unrealistic.

I think if someone is on the level of Brandish or weaker than you then you can burst their internal organs.

Mass Manipulation is over hyped purely due to Mashima not wanting to use it to it's full potential for whatever reason. He could be having Brandish chucking pebbles and turning them into Sema sized boulders but he just sticks with the more bland stuff
