Bacchus and Cana (Baccana)

Good.

I must admit, I would’ve liked it if this couple got included on the final rate list. They’re basically meant for each other, not? Both of them don’t really care about where life will bring them; they just want to get drunk and have some good fun. Even their age difference of 10 years doesn’t prevent them from getting along very well.

Okay, Bacchus hasn’t been the most respectful one in their relationship. He did brutally snatch her top after he defeated her in a drinking game the night after the first day of the Grand Magic Games, giving Cana the right to pull a #MeToo (blame Mashima). I guess the term banter isn’t the same for everyone. All turned right after they had some joy at Ryuzetsu Land – where they also looked far more cute than Gruvia – when they exchanged a lovely smile without being worried about the panda float Bacchus was using.

So where are they now? According to chapter 371, they ended up being drinking buddies. I guess we all need one.

Sorry if i'm being redudant, but @Unnamed Namesake once wrote a very convincing post about Cana and Bacchus being an awful couple.
I can't argue about it as well as she did, and especially because i am abysmally ignorant about drinking problems. I got drunk only once in my entire life and it will never happen to me again. So i'm far from the best person to describe why Cana and Bacchus aren't a great couple, so let me try to explain what she meant back then.
She more or less said that having a drinking problem (and Cana sure has) is a big deal, and being in a relationship with someone who doens't help you stop AT ALL is the worst thing that could happen. Someone making Cana even more of an alcoholic rather than helping her stop/reduce, is a bad thing.

So yeah, she seemed to know what she was talking about and was pretty convincing to me. Which is why i didn't vote for that ship.

But ehh, any ship involving Cana is good, we get to see more of her which isn't unpleasant to me

You're right, you're right. =)
Personally i think Cana is actually very serious and rarely acts stupidly or irrationnally, despite the alcohol. But when talking about long term risks, i don't think it'd ever be a good thing to drink as much as she does, from a body health standpoint. Then again we're in FT, it's not like we're gonna hear about cardiovascular disease or alcohol induced cancer.
Soooo yeah, if we don't think too much about it and stay on the manga level, Cana's problem with alcohol doesn't seem like a problem for her, as you say.

I think alcohol was more of a problem for her at the beginning of the story and after she made peace with her dad (she didn’t touch alcohol at all during the Tenrou Island arc), she more drinks for recreational purposes. Which is why Bacchus is able to outdrink her in Gmg......

I like Cana x Bacchus but I love pairings of opposites. That’s why I like
the dynamics of Laxus x Cana. And why I really love Mira x Laxus back when they were teens cuz she was a punk and he was kinda chilled. And why I never shipped Naza, even in ToH. They both out-going fire types. For me, they need to be paired with cool. I think Cana x Gray could have had potential. Especially since Mashima stated they were close. But we never got to see them interact outside of Tenrou. types.

Plus Bacchus is that boyfriend that you don’t bring home to your Dad.

Seriously, I might be a little bit biased since I gave my vote to Baccana in the poll, but that pairing makes much more sense than Jellal X Hisui... At least they are drinking buddies, plus Cana is known for having a thing for older guys - it's canon that she had had a crush on Macao, who is almost 20 years older than her.
Whereas Jellal and Hisui have barely anything to do with each other!

Well, no shock to see a crackship fall first.

Jellal is a decent guy and one of the best husbando's in FT, but you can't ship him with anyone other than Erza.

1. Jelly never touched Ultear or Meldy from what we know. Think of how many times they were together and no romance happened. Pretty hard to build a case for any other female with those 2 being avoided.
2. Even with Erza - Jelly has shown to resist her due to 'his sins'.

Hence, Jelly is impossible to crackship. Now that Jellal has been pardoned by Fiore, and Erza's hair is prettier than ever, maybe Jerza can make first base.

That said, this isn't looking good for crackships some of those quotes were savage
