Well, I am almost done with the game, or at least I think I am. I am pretty sure this is the longest FF I have played... Its not bad though, the gameplay is fun and so are the sidequests. I am at that huge tower which has the magic thingy whatnot, I think that is close to the end of the game. I decided I would actually go for the marks before finishing the game. Some of them are actually a reasonable challenge and fighting the espers is awesome IMO. I don't find much value with the espers during battles though, you loose a lot of versatility with them and they are basically targets for multiple enemies which does not work as well as having more characters which you can control and have perform multiple tasks at once. Anyways, I have enjoyed the game although the game is too long for me to do a rerun any time soon.

PPSSPP is so fast it runs at android machines (1.2 ghz) full speed. Not to mention that the author has halved the FPS on the game, making it run even more smoothly on bad machines :) It's worth a try if you want to, if not I won't force you.
I'm just worried that my tablet might overheat...

I will only play it again if they release a HD remaster. The espers were bad imo. Not as smooth as in FFX. The Mysth-Teks are rather cool though.

But yes you're near the end me thinks.

I just read the weirdest thing

Basically, Yosuke Matsuda said that Square Enix just now realized (Because of the success of Bravely Default) that people like JRPGs.

“Due to having split [the development mindset] according to regions around the world, we weren’t able to see this clearly up until now, but fans of JRPGs are really spread around the world,” emphasizes Matsuda. “Through the means of various networks, the latest information that is announced in Japan is instantaneously being spread across fans throughout the world. Whether it’s North America, Europe, or South America. There really isn’t much of a gap [in the relay of information].”

“With that in mind, and all of the collective fans, there’s a sense of mass, which loses the image of a niche market,” continues Matsuda. “For the new games we’ll be developing from this point on, while this may sound a bit extreme, we’ve been talking about making them as heavy JRPGs. I believe that way, we can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results.”

The whole thing is really good news. Even if it's hard to believe they could be just now realizing this.:fail

Oh and an interesting title side note in all this is that Bravely Default is now dead even with the PS3 version of Lightening Returns in sales. Both stand at .81million.

The Xbox 360 version adds another .15 million to that total for Lightening Returns. But considering the difference in advertising and overall production costs Bravely Default is crushing it.

Damn, I wanted to actually get a few more weapons (in particular masamune's) before getting on with the game but just meeting the requirements to get them would take me more time than what it would take me to beat the rest of the game. I have pretty decent weapons now but still, I was really looking forward for a bunch of weapons with a good hit chance. I guess I am going to focus on getting the remaining espers and finishing the hunts now... I guess I can get a couple decent weapons while finishing that. I am definitely not gonna do the last mark though, 50 mil hp is just absurd. Maybe I should just finished the game and be done with it though....

Damn son, that explains why they "realized" JRPGS are still wanted. Because the top brass probably threatened them if they didnt continue what they did with breavely default.

ok, I have been trying to get the excalibur in FFXII but the chest containing it never spawns. I have tried at least 25 times... I used a map to get to the place, I pick up the first treasure but I never get the one underneath. The spawn rate is 20% so I feel I should have already obtained it. Is there a way to actually permanently miss this weapon? Or am I just that unlucky?

Well, I tried a bunch more times and still nothing... I even tried using saved states to try 20 times in a row and that didn't yield results either. Seriously, is there a way to make excalibur unobtainable?

I've been playing around with Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn on the PS4 lately.

It's alright, very classic MMO-ish which is to be expected I suppose. The job system is pretty cool and the environments are quite pretty but the story is... not great. The #1 thing I think this game could have used is a SWTOR-ish companion system. Maybe not as meaty but it seems to me like the story could have been told a lot better from a side character than put into overly elaborate cutscenes.

It's also funny how far behind the character animation feels. All the gestures are so exaggerated, it's like your watching a play.

It's too bad about the story then. No reason for me to play it :p

Ah well, I'll just wait until Type 0 and then FF(15?) VS.

Is excalibur the same as the zodiac weapons? If so, then yes, it's possible to miss out on it.

I dont think so. Excalibur is the one at the great crystal that appears in a chest underneath a chest.

While everyone is busy playing the latest release of Final Fantasy, I've been playing Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls. Both are for GBA. The old appearance and simplistic design is so funny and interesting. It sure is amazing to see where Final Fantasy stands now, from what was planned to be the last project.

Anyone ever played those? :XD

I actually finished part I last year. Didn't get to finish II though. What I remember from playing it the first time, was crossing a bridge and the monsters suddenly got overpowered and killed me in 1 shot lol

LOL, yeah, that happened to me few times too. More often with FF II because of the absence of level system. One wrong step and I was hit like a fly, lol. But after reaching some numbers in your status, things become generally easier.
