I know Balthier is pretty twisted. Someone took it upon themselves to spoil his background for me, and I had a serious WTF moment. XD I really couldn't relate to Fran and the other viera, for some reason. I like her, but they didn't give her background much development. Basch could have been very interesting but they simply decided to shove him into the "loyal knight" category, exactly like Steiner. I haven't seen his ending yet though. And I agree completely about Ashe. Vaan is probably the most disappointing and obnoxious lead character ever. Penelo just seemed to exist. She doesn't seem to add much of anything to the game. Just space.

yeah nice to meet you too.. hahah take it for someone to spoil one of the rare highlights of the actual game. As for penelo, i think she was just created as a link between the party and lord larsa.

i would like so se her have somesort of romantic interest towards vaan, to have more texture to this story... if there was implications of it then i didnt notice

Oh well, I'll forgive Squaresoft this time. It's not very often they disappoint me with a FF game. And if nothing else, it was eye candy and kept me interested for a few weeks.

No, I'm a little over halfway. I'll come back to it sooner or later, but I can tell by my friends' reactions to finishing it/or being close to the end that I can expect much of the same that they experienced.

I'm about 40 hours in, but I spent a lot/most of it running around fighting things and doing hunts to get money.

Yes Zypher, you sell items from enemies instead of getting money from them. This doesn't bother me except that they're all SO worthless you could literally spend hours just to get all the money you need to buy things. I usually just keep playing...

I like the looting system, since it's just so much more logical that monsters don't carry gils, so selling the loot for money is a great idea. But I agree with Venow with the fact that the money is a really big problem in this game, you just never have much, and more than one time I had to go farming to buy the latest spells (or a bunch of remedies to use with the Nihopalaoa >.>).

I'm still at the last save point, I really should finish the game right now but I just can't get in the mood

in the beginning its hard to make money but once ur leveled up just go to the places where theres monsters that give u good loot and ur all set, i stopped playing it about 3 weeks after it came out, i had everybody at level 45 in the area right after u defeat

finished it a while ago(b4 christmas sometime). People who started at 7 will find vaan lacking as a character(he is) but u need to understand that this was designed to be more similar to ff6 in the aspect of a party of heroes instead of the story of one. How many characters in ff6 are memorable about 4. The worst parts of ff12 were need for a playguide from the start just so u didnt end up missing ur chance for zodiac spear. The stupid random chests and the useless magic(what does vanish do!!!) In total the game felt half finished with the strong points being the start and the end. The "optional bosses" were however quite difficult but only because of their stupid amounts of HP.

The game feels rushed and unfinished with certain things feeling empty(most towns were lifeless and had no real depth). The license grid was stupid in its creation with no need for techs and guns dropping in use as the game goes on(max damage a gun can do is ~its power squared). penelo+fran ended up being nothing more then c3po and chewie. Memorable but not adding to the story whatsoever. Balthier is han which is why every1 loves him, basch is obi wan, ashe is leia and vaan is luke(crappy luke from first one). If any1 finishes the game they will realize why i compare the character to star wars. The whole Ashe + vaan thing with the ghost never explained either. Add in the Gods thing and some random shit and the story is crap in a hand basket

FFX has the story and character interaction down pat. ff12 has the best combat system. ff13 should be interesting cause of the VS verison and normal one.

For any1 wanting to try something new try DQ8 or star ocean 3. both are quite old but are really fun to play.

4) Bahumunt or Knights of Round
5) VII X3
6) Either going through the whole Battle Arena *just* to get omnislash or the boss battle at the Macarania (?) Temple in X (both took me a while because I'm not too good a player XD)
7) There's WAY too many to choose from, but I agree with juUnior...Last Order rocked!!
8) He he, I've GOT a sequal (and prequals) - FFVII XD
9) I love raising chocobos!

For those of you who haven't played any Final Fantasy lower than 7, I highly recommend you do. With remakes of the originals there is no reason not too! You can get 1-2,4-6 on the PSone (4 comes with freakin' Chrono Trigger!!) and you can get 1-2, 4-6 (6 on Feb. 6) on GBA, and 3 on DS (in 3D!) So play the old games, you don't know what you're missing!

It's just too bad that the remakes on Psone just had freakin' long loading times... I mean, my PS2 is lagging when I'm playing FFVI

But I agree with Venom, everyone should definitely try the older ones, because though it's a bit hard to stomach the 15 years old graphics when you're used to your PS2, the scenarios and characters are just more than worth it

Yea, FF IV for the GBA is a pretty bad port... gotta love how you can sometimes get two turns in a row magically. Haha.

FF 4 is a good game, but I have some serious issues with it as well...

I've been meaning to get a hold of the earlier games on PS or GBA but I never seem to have the money! I'll keep my eyes leeped though *_*
