Someone discovered a hidden side quest in FFIX and posted the clip on how to trigger it:

Anyway, Famitsu has revealed the status of announced FF games:

Final Fantasy X HD – 80%

Final Fantasy X-2 HD – 65%

Final Fantasy VIII (PC) – 80%

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII – 70%

I love how they didn't include Versus >.>

Versus would probably be present at Sony's conference given the whole 'exclusive' factor Sony hinted at.

I just hope they won't give us a FF13-Versus transformed into FF15. I would be (again) disappointed.
I hope for a "back to basis" FF15 (medieval, heroic fantasy, world map, ...)

I definitely believe it would get renamed. It's a bit inevitable at this point. Plus, I don't think there is any need to worry, as FF Versus was supposed to have NPCs, towns, airships and all things traditional for a JRPG. It's just Lightening who's perpetually riding the ruined-wagon.

And it's awful for a final fantasy. The main character looks like EMO-Sasuke. The design isn't as impressive as in the past. It's not medieval, not that futuristic either, seems to be set in the present of an alternate universe and I don't like it. Real time - One character gameplay, no "final fantasy" music, ... I didn't even see any rpg elements in the trailer ...

It's simply the first final fantasy trailer that is not giving me goosebumps. It might be a good game but that's not enough. Final fantasy was more than a game, FF4,6,7,8,9 & even 10 or 12 had a soul & it's gone. This is an empty shell ... as shiny as that shell may be.

I actually don't agree.

To be honest here, I've never been a huge fan of versus or the general direction Square-Enix has taken with the Final Fantasy Series in term of gameplay or story over the last few years. As far as I'm concerned Final Fantasy XIII was terrible. And while I'm not thrilled the next final Fantasy is going to be more of an action game than an RPG. Square need to get this game finished and released so they can move on, hopefully back to the older school mechanics and more artistic presentation that made Ni No Kuni better than any Final Fantasy game in the last 10 years.

What I saw from Final Fantasy XV in that trailer made me think the game itself might have a chance of not being terrible (which would be a big step). Yeah, it's looks like an action game. Yeah, it looks overly stylized. But what I saw in the trailer suggested to me that this time there might be a story this time and I'll forgive a lot if XV has a decent story to it.

The part that most stood out to me where the young protagonist and his father are eating that terrible soup and pretending to like it to keep the cook out of trouble. That's the kind of character development that Final Fantasy XIII utterly failed at.

Don't get me wrong there is a still a strong chance it will be terrible. All I'm saying is a see the "chance" for it not to be. I'm not saying it could be Final Fantasy VII good but maybe it could be Dirge of Cerberus good.

Even if it has no chance of being on par with the true RPG's of the Final Fantasy series; the VI, VII, and VIII (depending on who you talk to). Because really what they need to do is take a step back and focus more on the role playing aspects that made those older Final Fantasy games so much better than the current ones. But to do that they need to get rid of Versus and Final Fantasy online once and for all; and no more goddamn sequels. These games need to be finished and released so square can move on to making the games fans actually want.

Final Fantasy Tactics 2
And a Final Fantasy XVI that's a real RPG with it's own art style preferably written by somebody who knows what their doing(Recruit Nisio Isin!)

As a die hard turn-based RPG fan, it's hard seeing the FF series move away from it's roots. However, it looks amazing and like a lot of fun, though not too JRpg like. I miss the days searching high and low for ultimate weapons/armor or doing certain side quests to obtain them... the exploring part of the series. Even the villains are barely villains to remember.

I wouldn't judge it just yet though...let's see what the story has to offer -.-

Btw, FFXIV actually looks like a MMO I would actually pay for
