Square is good at making universes; it's the characters and the plot which drives people crazy sometimes. Having a handful of games set in the same universe will be nice to have, as long as the characters, plot, and maybe even genre are different.

I prefer it this way actually. I never was a big fan of changing universes every game.

I think S-E can pull it off but only if they plan it out right... Now the down side is you have to have other Consoles to play ff13 games but look @ some of the FF spinoff's i mean they are not that good so i am not going to say FF13's spinoff on the 360 will be good becuase we dont know anything yet.

I am not counting the PS3 out just yet either it is way to early in the game so let's wait and see >_>..

I'll edit the first post to mention the misunderstanding.

I was about to say, well, there goes any draw that the PS3 would get. Its sales are doing terrible right now because simply put, there are NO games that anybody is interested in right now for it. And yes, its price tag. But that'll change with time. It took time for the first PS to get popular, too.

But since FF XIII itself is actually going to be exclusive to PS3, I think the PS3 still has a chance to make a comeback. But they did make a very, very dumb decision to try to get it out at the same time as the Wii when they had so little marketing power. I suppose they thought something like this: "Oh no! The Wii is coming out, too many people will get comfortable with it and forget about the PS!" But they should have just kept concentrating on the PS2 for now.

The thing is, y'know, the games that will be made for the PS3 will naturally take longer to make than games for the Wii. So I'm not surprised it still doesn't have an appealing game library right now.

The hunts are definitely my favorite part about FF 12. It's the one thing that'll probably bring me back, other than the graphics.

I like the graphics! They are so next gen-ish that I almost wet myself, cause unfortunately I'm as broke as that mountain.

I have to say the hunts were my favorite part too, btw has anyone played Rogue Galaxy I wanna try it.

I don't think it'll be reasonably priced at all. Sony loses a ton of money on each system sold right now as it is. There isn't going to be a lower price for a long time, IMO. Remember, Sony doesn't rely on PlayStations to make all their money the way Nintendo would. They can lose money on PlayStations and make money on other products.

none the less, I won't be buying PS3, not for just XIII. I've been a Sony fan since the first PS came out (read: since I was old enough to understand/play video games) and have loved them. While the PS3 may be great, I don't want to pay $600 to play a single game (which will probably be pretty expensive itself), one that (if anything like XXII), I'll just get bored with and quit halfway through. I'd much rather wait for any Wii spin-offs and get one of the those. Sorry, Sony, but I don't want to have to pay 10-12 nights of tips just for one game.

I mean, good lord, I could buy a really nice Wacom tablet, a Wii, and games for the same price as JUST the console for PS3.

I understand completely. I am going to wait until the game comes out before I make any decisions, and with Square's track record, I have about 4 years to think about it.

Anyway, the game got a little better towards the end, but I still stand by my original review, I guess I would bump it up to a 7, but pffft.

And the final boss was EXTREMELY easy, IMO.

I don't want to spoil, so I will shut up now.

Does anybody know how to get the Ultimate Esper?

You mean the Ultima Esper right? Its located on the great crystal in Giruvegan. The way into Ultima is too confusing to explain in one post. I dont know myself how i got there :P just use a game faq with a map of the crystal, you better be prepared for that also. For the fight against Ultima (the Holy type esper). If you have, use dark element weapons and holy-absorption equipment. If you are to go for Ultima, 1st stop by the place where you can get Excalibur. Its hard for it to appear, so get a walktrough and be patient. Excalibur rocks, since it's extremely strong and has holy atribute, which is greatly effective against most of the bosses and every undead foe. Dont use it against Ultima, of course.

Now when I think about it, it would be awesom to see FF6 remake in the version of 3D and new technology.. it could be more cooler (...) or even more people would have know one of the best story and characters from FF games

Well there are some extra jobs and dungeons near the end of the game like all the remakes. Other than that no. But there are no awful loading times, like the PSone version, and I don't think the difficulty was touched.

Good thing about the loading times. I didn't finish the PS version because of that.
