No used game restrictions of any kind.

They even basically went over everything that Xbone does and item by item essentially said..

"We'd never do that to our customers. We aren't total assholes."

They actually even presented the gamer argument for why restricting used games and DRM in general is wrong. I'm stunned. Impressed. But stunned.

That FFXV trailer was actually the first one that really made me want to play the game too. To be honest an action oriented final fantasy is the last thing I wanted but that part with the father and son eating bad soup to keep their cook out of trouble is the kind of non-melodramatic emotional depth I've really missed from Squares RPG's in recent times.

So I'm actually pretty excited about that game now.

Man, now I'm sad that I missed watching it. I read that people were actually cheering and bowing when Sony announced that there is no used-game restrictions, no need to be online 24 hours, and no need for authenticity.

They absolutely crushed it. $399, no used game restrictions, no internet requirement, and the strong indie stuff. That sells me on the console.

And this was awesome.(profoundly dickish and profoundly great)

I mean, the conference had some rough moments. Square Enix's part was a bit awkward even if the news they did was great. The assassin's creed game play demo was wonky. I'd like to know where they stutter came from.

I'm also a little surprised they didn't bring out their free to play games coming to ps4. Planetside 2 and DCU Online have both been announced for PS4 yet neither were mentioned

Did anyone catch the menu interface video they just showed? That was pretty cool, being able to make videos of what you're doing in game and upload them for people to see.

Here is the PS4 specs; 500 GB hard drive is pretty good.

Oh, it's region-free and user upgradeable.

The only down side is that playing online isn't free anymore. You need to get PS Plus subscription to play multiplayer. You will receive the same benefits like the Plus membership you get on the PS3 (e.g. automatic patch download and Instant Game Collection). It will cost $10 for a 30-day subscription in N. America and €6.99 in Europe. From what I've read in the comments, it will be $5/month if you buy a yearly subscription.

So what are the highlights for you guys? For me it was the Witcher 3 trailer and the DA3 trailer(cool Geralt and cool Morrigan)...inFamous Second Son and Titanfall were the only other stuff that caught my eye...

Oh yeah, and Project Spark...such a cool dev tool...

My conclusions: Dragon Age gave me goosebumps. The witcher 3 is technically impressive. Metal gear is promising. Square is disappointing (again). Xbox is doomed.

Yeah...Dragon Age hinted at so many things in that trailer...it had some Warcraft Burning Legion vibe though, which I like because of the effects, but disliked because it wasn't so original...

CDPRED also released a small dev diary along with that gameplay trailer, and it has some nice little hints for the main plot of the game, but I think only book readers would see those...

But I'm not sure if Xbox is doomed...the game lineup is pretty solid, and some of those franchises have huuuge customer bases...the price is a bit high though, but I consider that the only relevant obstacle for Xbox...the customer related policies will be overlooked or ignored by many IMO

Well for me the highlights were.

• Sony won my next gen allegiance with the price and lack of content control features.
• Infamous Second Son looks awesome.
• Final Fantasy XV caught my attention more than it ever has before.
• The Witcher III looks good but I still want to see more gameplay(specifically combat).
• Self publishing on the PS4 is a huge deal to me. I absolutely love Indie games and there are so many steam games I want to see make that jump and I'm excited that they will at least have the chance.
• Destiny the gameplay demo was a mixed bag. But the MMO/Borderlands 2/Halo experience they seemed to be creating is something I'm totally on board for.
• Tom Clancy's Division An interesting game from Ubisoft. It looked entirely action but also claimed it was an RPG. If it really does feature true RPG elements it's definitively something I'll be interested in.
