Since it seems like the Judgment series might be dead, does that mean Yakuza is going to go back to being action rather than turn-based? I'm in general not a huge fan of turn-based combat over action, but switching a series combat system that late seems downright bizarre to me.

I think it was refreshing after spending houuuuuurs in old yakuza games, strangely i thought the turn based yakuza would be weird but it fit well and they made it entertaining. Judgment is a spin off it doesn't impact the direction of the franchize. I think they said in a they will stick to turn based from now on.

Yakuza always been grindy, random encounters, fighting wave upon wave of guys. You finish 2 or 3 yakuza games and you gonna feel burnt out from old fighting system

Also check back in once you beat the game because I mostly loved the combat. And it wouldn't have been too grindy if that one boss had not been designed so stupidly. It's by far the hardest part of the entire game. And it's not like a skill thing. In a way it's perfect for a game that calls back to classic JRPGs because there is nothing more true to that form then having some sub-boss be 10x harder than the last boss. I needed pretty much maxed out gear to take him down.
Last I heard they said it would be turn based from here on out. And given how successful Like a Dragon was for them. I think that's probably how it's going to be.
Which I personally really like but I'm not a big on action brawler stuff. Especially if Ichiban is the protagonist for a while. Which it seems like he will.
yeah i get what you saying but that's actually the flaw in his character. his character and persona ain't realistic. kiryu is more down to earth and aware of the reality of the yakuza world. Ichi grew up with the yakuza but it's like he pretend he's clueless about the yakuza world and always brag about what a "yakuza should be". Even after years in jail. I feel like they tried to make Ichi like characters you find from shounen rather than what a character from the real world would be. i don't know if you get what i mean. Kiryu is more real as a character. Overall i like ichi, except the arakawa family part.
Kiryu's backstory isn't realistic at all. He wants to be a Yakuza because he thinks a lot of Yakuza as super cool nice guys like his not father, even though he was slapped silly several times because Kazama wanted him as far from that shit as possible and insisted he was wrong...
His righteousness is very not Yakuza and constantly bites him in the ass, and like only 3 characters in the whole series match it lol.

They'll probably drop Judgement and start a new story or pick up Black Panther's (or maybe go back to make Samurai games or more prequels like Zero 2).
The studio behind Call of Duty and World of Warcraft is facing a civil lawsuit over allegations of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and equal pay violations. The company disputes the claims.

California Sues Gaming Giant Activision Blizzard Over Unequal Pay, Sexual Harassment
"Unequal pay" being listed before "sexual harassment" makes it seem as if the harassment was very very minor.
If that's true: stay out of my gaming life, california.
Yep. Majima always trouble. Battled him today in like a dragons. All i can say is im glad i had to grind the tower for some materials. Still both him and kiryu had epic entrances. Did not expect it at all
There's excerpts of the court papers online, and they do name names. There's been what seems like over a dozen testimonials for this specific former employee too.
It's also being heavily implied by some people that he's a "sacrificial lamb". Not shocking as it's worth noting he left Blizzard over a year ago, it makes it easier for them to distance themselves.
There's also this weird tidbit of Chris Metzen seemingly replying to a tweet by accident, likely trying to search his name on twitter -
This is shaping up to be even more of a disaster than the Riot shit was, especially due to existing reporting on internal strife at the company. Not really shocking considering this kind of environment.

Given that Afrasiabi left pretty suddenly without any fanfare, the sudden departure of Jeff Kaplan some months ago in the midst of Overwatch 2 development kind of has a different look to it...

@Jammin i finally fcking beat it. bloody hell that was hard but satisfying
I can see that. I think Ichiban's attitude is very "theatrical" which is sort of fitting with Yakuza. Not sure it works in a realistic sense but neither does pretty much anything Kazuma ever did. The Yakuza series is very soap opera-y and that part of Ichabans story very much fits into that style.
And...
Goodamn Kazuma, I know he's the previous protagonist and all but they overtuned the crap out of him. I didn't do the the hell mode tower thing so for me he was by far the hardest part of the game. I was just cruising along until i hit that fight and he was a brick wall. Then after I grinded past that I cruised through the rest of the game.
