Just watched GotG- It was as if I was watching only to wait for the next joke. ahahaha. But I liked it. Chris Pratt was awesome. And my god, how he got so buffed up like that.

Just came back from Into the Storm such an amazing movie it was. Definitely on my top 3 list of best movies of the year (1. Transformers, 2. Into the Storm, 3. Amazing Spiderman). The pv had shown at least two scenes from closer to the end of the movie, but they were just epic to watch in full lenght in the movie (the plane scene at the airport is incredible just as it was in the pvs), Truly we are living in the ends times if such a destructive mindblowing creation can be imagined like that, just one of the most astonishing natural disasters in history, a miracle of nature indeed, with a great cast and excellent way of filming with Trey at the cameras for much of it.

Any comments on the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes? I've yet to see it but I was curious if anyone had seen it....

I thought Apes was pretty good, the signaling between the apes (no speech) made for excellent scenes and some pretty memorable moments, interesting design choice for the movie.

Also that musical score, incredible.

Under the Skin is the worst movie you ever saw? Ahahaha, you must have only watched the highest critically acclaimed movies ever created your whole life. If the movie wasn't for you okay, but it's far from the worst movie, it was a fantastic movie if anything.

Would not call it fantastic, the style of it was interesting for sure but it overshadowed everything else. Ok movie if you wanna try something else, sure not the worst movie ever but not fantastic either.

I just came back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy. Good entertainment, nice action but most of all, humor was the highlight for me. I always liked Chirs from Parks & Rec. and I was doubtful how he would fit into a superhero role. He did well. Overall, I enjoyed the movie.

I can't wait for GotG, I'm going to watch it next saturday. As I couldn't see it this week-end, I went to see Lucy. It's entertaining as long as you put your brain offline. It's absolutely stupid but if you can go beyond that, you have scarlet johansson, a good sense of humor, a wonderful pursuit in the streets of Paris and no downtime.

Two weeks ago was Dawn of the planet of the apes and it was spectacular. In my opinion, a great movie, nothing less. The way those apes are animated is exceptionnal. It's hard not to be uninpressed by special effects nowadays but those apes, just great.

Superb movie. You must watch it. I agree with zell, the animation was spectacular, and the motion capture was amazing. I'm speechless at how well they moved around. Andy Serkis is a god.

I felt like a major emotional factor was DRASTICALLY underused, which is my main complaint, but I won't expand due to spoilers.

I haven't even bothered, since it was obviously a milking job before the first movie even came out. That and I wasn't a huge fan of the LoTR series either.

TMNT this weekend was pretty awesome actually. I thought the movie would be bad, but turned out to be really good. Of course, the hate is in full blown mode all over the web from Marvel fans, particularly ones who just saw Guardians last week.

lol. Despite all this, I've enjoyed a good total of summer movies this year and Turtles was impressive. The fight scenes with Shredder were pretty good and they paid homage to the original movie in many ways too. It's fun and entertaining.

If your looking for something deeper, on some Chris Nolan sh*t, this isn't a film for you then.


p.s., F**k, the Hobbit. Wasted trilogy in my opinion. Settle for the book and that's that.

Of course, the hate is in full blown mode all over the web from Marvel fans, particularly ones who just saw Guardians last week.

If your looking for something deeper, on some Chris Nolan sh*t, this isn't a film for you then.

Not sure why you try to put the blame on marvel fans, when TMNT is simply a bad movie, nor why Nolan produces "shit". It had so many incredible logical errors. Haha it was so far worse than the trailer suggested, little to nothing made sense, camera was too near in so many cases. Spend your time and money otherwise, like watching Guardians of DotA again.

And as entertaining as T4 was for some scenes, it's still a horrible horrible movie.

Seen Dawn of the Apes yesterday. Loved it, still hate how the 3D glasses darken the movie so much, but pretty much everything about the movie was great. I'm grateful that the first trailer with Oldman being on rage and driving around was totally misleading. Nice to see a great sequel to an already good movie once in a while.

Guardians was superb IMO. Really enjoyed that movie. Not super memorable, didn't really notice the soundtrack either, which is a pretty big minus for me. The most memorable movies to me have to deliver some catchy soundtrack that makes you associate it with the movie. In any case it was really well done otherwise with great acting, CGI was obviously incredible and the story was OK. The storytelling is obviously the highlight of the movie, including the characters which were all unique and fun. I just loved all the random comedy parts. Drax was probably my favorite character, but it's so hard to choose. All his comedy parts were great. Such a dense rock, lmao. "Nothing passes over my head. My reflexes are too good." xD

That makes this summer for me: X-men, Apes and Guardians. Not too many movies but all were excellent. I don't care for Transformers. I'm not gonna fuel its income out of principle. Gonna probably pirate that shit when it comes out. Horrible movie made purely to milk the already dry cow (but people still like the awful tasting milk I guess). TMNT was huge for me when I was a kid. Pretty much the most important comic/toy stuff for me during my childhood, but damn the movie looks awful. Typical Michael Bay production. I'm more inclined to watch that though over Transformers.

Apes by far my favorite this summer and easily the most memorable. Do want to watch it again. Kind of want to watch Guardians again due to the comedy parts which was so great. Definitely going to be one-liners that one has to remember in my gang, lol.

I know right? I already had the soundtrack and listened to it on Spotify 2 weeks or so before the movie was released. It's such an awesome mix of retro songs and worked so well.

Setting aside how immensely dull fox was in the turtles movie I actually enjoyed it. Didn't take itself too seriously, cool effects and from what little I recall the turtles did have the personalities they used to have. I don't really have an issue with the realistic take on them, if anything I would think they ended up looking reasonably cool. Though perhaps the design would have made more sense in a gritier movie. Overall I had fun watching the movie though, its easy to enjoy it if you enjoy the plot holes creepily glaring at you through the whole thing. Anyways, why was fox so dull? I know she is not an exceptional actress or anything but in this movie I can't help but conclude that either she intentionally did not try at all or was specifically told to act as bland as humanly possible.

As far as guardians of the galaxy goes, it was spectacular. Definitely the best marvel movie to date and the one I enjoyed the most. I thought it would be hard to top the winter soldier but this one definitely topped it. I never found it inconceivable that the avengers would be topped even though I did enjoy that movie. Gonna start watching parks and recreating just because of this movie lol. Gotta say I am impressed, marvel took a completely random set of barely superheroes from a basically unknown group and made it into the best movie in the franchise yet. And it probably will be the most profitable movie for them too between all the new toys and comic books they can get out of this one. Entire product lines which the weekend before the movie simply did not exist at all. I actually want to see this movie again....On another note, I doubt they will have the balls to consider a howard the duck movie lol. Is it me or is this movie not having as good a box office as other marvel movies though?

Dunno, for me that kinda sounds like it is complaining the new one is not the exact same movie as the one from the 90s.... I admit I did think some of those as I saw the movie. Fox being almost unnaturally bland was just bad and splinter being asian for some reason is one of the things I had in mind when earlier I wrote "the plot holes creepily glaring at you". I wonder why they went with that, the actual origin story of splinter is better and the new one literally added nothing to the movie at all. I guess they wanted to get back to the fans for complaining about wanting to make the turtles aliens.

If you read my comment clearly and carefully, instead of trying to make it like I said something different to support your rebuttal to mine, you'd see that wasn't the point i was making.

1. I'm not blaming anything on Marvel fans for disliking the Ninja Turtles. Your saying that and I'm a Marvel fan, DC fan, Chris Nolan fan as well and still enjoyed the Turtles film. If you want to bash me for that, go right ahead, because it seems like you "have" to like what everyone else likes or dislike what everyone dislikes. I'm not a follower, I like what I like and dislike what I dislike.

2. Where did I say, Chris Nolan "produces" sh*t?. I said, people be on some "Chris Nolan sh*t", when it comes to comparing and criticizing other comic book related films. What I mean by that is, some people want everything to be like "The Dark Knight", which to me, is a lame critique.

3. On that note, I did enjoy Guardians, but you neglected the post I made about that film in this forum on purpose, but whatever.

I don't think anyone would go into a Michael Bay TMNT expecting it to be reminiscent of Nolan Batman in the first place
