So do you think Sorano and Yukino will fight Larcade or Jacob when the Universe One dispels? Through it looks like the Universe One will dispel next chapter because of Irene's death. I'm leaning towards Lucy fighting August and Mavis should be the one to take out Zeref since it just feels right that Mavis does take out Zeref. I don't think Mavis will fight August since Mavis parallels Clea ( because of their similar personalities, changes in personalities after Clea becomes a Rave Guardian and after Mavis lives with the curse for a year, and Mavis dying and being freed from the lacrima is symbolic of Clea dying and coming back as a Rave Guardian) I think either Natsu will fight August or Lucy and Brandish will fight August. The next chapter title sounds like Natsu will have to chose between the Dragon seed and the demon seed and Natsu would obviously chose the dragon seed over the demon seed any day. If I remember correctly Capircorn uses hand to hand combat so when Lucy uses the Capircorn stardress it will end up being a physical battle through it was never revealed what magic Capircorn uses.
Mavis does mimic Clea. Well the idea for Mavis is Mashima trying to be troll or plot twist with switching opponents for Mavis/Natsu/Lucy. Sometime has done that where you think persona a eill fight person b

It just depends on what he wants to do with Mavis. Is she a way to cure Zeref or defeat him or kill him or die herself as a sacrifice?
I try to fight battles that balance each other out when I pair weird opponents. Thus Azir vs Lucy. That would have both opponents using not multiple magics and Lucy having to tactically combo her magic. Yukino and Sorano is a bit weird because on one hand yukino has gravity and water with her zodiac. But what does Sorano have? We never get shown much of her angel
Magic. And ophericus was large but took so long to summon and didn't do anything. I don't know who to pair them up without looking weird.
Of angel had a way to cancel Jacobs magic. Would think him. If Azir could be held down by libras gravity for a clean hit, that would work but that would basically follow all the other battles. Larcade..... not so much.
Mavis also could fight Jacob because Mashima likes to bring people back to fight people who humiliate them.
It's also hard to say.... this character will do this and this will do that. Because at the end of the day. Most of theee bad guys are there just to be defeated. Look at Irene....so far no really impacting the current storyline except for taking Acnologia out. And being defeated by daughter/dragon slayer combo. Wonot reallu depends on what Mashima' she goal is for getting...... Mavis to fight. Or yukino/Sorano to fight. Or Lucy to fight.
Yea that the plot hole with Capricorn. He never had a
Magic shown. Which he could have some berserker physical ability like I think One of Haru's swords did. But if that was so..... why didn't Mashima let Lucy fight jacob in that star dress? Which would make more sense.
Because he's the main physical Spriggan. Like you said..... can't really see her hand to hand combating whoever is left- azir, August, Larcade, or Zeref.
She could have had Loke in background keeping his regulus to negate the invisibility. Jacob just seems like a natural opponent for Capricorn.
Especially if you add the fact that jacob steals people and puts them in other dimensions same way Zoledo did in tenrou.
Or Capricorn could have some energy ability as he was shown training Lucy in how to build her enegy on the beach. He also was able to take Loke's regulus.
Actually the star dresses used have been weird because
Jacob was a natural opponent to Capricorn.
Azir for Scorpio star dress.
You could even say these spirits could have supported against:
Horologium for Dimaria.
Libra for Brandish.
Loke's light for Larcade.
