I like the pair, but this is 100% true. Not only that, but people are actually okay with the sexual harassment. It makes sense that Lucy has feelings for Natsu, but Natsu has shown nothing out of the ordinary for Lucy, and fans think there's development or it's canon.

I am not mocking anyone here, just pointing out stupidity of NaLu shipping

They may not have had many moments in terms of legitimate romance but as two extremely close friends they're arguably the most developed relationship in the entire series. I don't think it's too difficult to understand why some people (like me XD) would like a relationship like that to be taken a step further.

Natsu-Lucy isn't a stupid shipping, nor is it the most developed relationship in the entire series. Neither is Jellal and Erza, they don't have much development to go on as far as I recall. In fact, one can say Gray-Juvia and Gajeel-Levy are far more developed than most other pairings.

Main problem with Natsu-Lucy is that it's becoming forced, and its fans are annoying as hell for coming up with whatever bad reasons they can to justify it or being so intent on it and treating it like canon when it's not. Then there are the smart ones who realize that the ball is in Natsu's court, and he at least has to actually look at the ball before he picks it up. With Lucy, it's an assumption but nothing states otherwise.

Chapter 532 basically confirmed all the major ships as being some form of love. Maybe Natsu and Lucy aren't as far along as Gajeel and Levy, but they probably have feelings for each other. Lucy's feelings is just a lot more obvious than Natsu's because she wears her heart on her sleeve.

I don't think NaLu is forced at all. You can see the progression of their relationship throughout the series. To be honest, I think Lucy's reasons for liking Natsu makes the most sense out of any of the girl's. I think it's safe to say that Lucy probably isn't falling for Natsu because of his looks or anything. Natsu's never been established as being particularly handsome. Lucy likes Natsu because of what he does and because he represents Fairy Tail, and Fairy Tail is her home. Natsu was the one who brought Lucy to the guild. When Phantom Lord tried to take her, Natsu was the one told her that Fairy Tail was her home. When they were fighting Hades and she was scared, he was the one who gave her courage. He was there when she found out her father died. When she lost her match during the GMG, he told her that she was amazing. When Natsu fought Sting and Rogue, he said that he was fighting for the friend that they laughed at - which was her. When Lucy was captured by Crocus, Natsu was the one that most wanted to save her. When they met future Lucy, he trusted Lucy just because she was Lucy. If we're counting the omake, we had sweet moments where Natsu uprooted the rainbow sakura for her, or waited for her at her house.

You see, those are the ridiculus statements that make me laugh at NaLu in this series. They "probably" have feelings for each other. Yeah. Great. While Erza and Jellal shared tragic past, she had obvious crush on Jellal in ToH enslavement, he obviously developed a feeling to her. Hell, memory of red hair was stronger than amnesia. They f-ckn were milimeter from a true love kiss ONSCREEN, during truly ROMANTIC moment. They are reason for each other to live. But cool, Natsu (being dense brick) and Lucy (fanservice boobacious lady) "probably" "maybe" have some kind of feelings for each other. Because he sneaked into her room few times and saw her boobs few times, as convenient excuse to fanservice FT community.. No, seriously, NaLu>Jerza... except nope.
If anything, NaLu may be one-sided crush, nothing more.

(though I know at this point NaLu will happen and there is no doubt to it and no way to prevent it, FT lacks reason and depth in general over last arcs. I just won't agree with calling it "big true love" cuz, it isn't)

Where. Its literally bouncing from one awkward fanservice panty-boob shoot to another, with "don't get into my room without permission". Maybe even slight tsundere bit to it ("Don't get into my room, but hell, if you are here you may as well stay, whatever.. Baka"

But as dense, yeah, very much. She is definitely not falling for him because of the romantic soul or rich personality of his either. Nor because of the past, because they didn't knew each other "before" FT happened, nor because of romantic moments they shared, cuz there isn't any.

Lucy likes Natsu because of what he does and because he represents Fairy Tail, and Fairy Tail is her home. Natsu was the one who brought Lucy to the guild. When Phantom Lord tried to take her, Natsu was the one told her that Fairy Tail was her home. When they were fighting Hades and she was scared, he was the one who gave her courage.
IIRC it was usual nakama axxpull powerup, like many times in FT.

If FT was ever close to making NaLu reasonable and romantic, it was that GMG moment where Lucy said something to Natsu, and we didn't initially know what it was. If that was confession of some sort, I would praise Mashima with all my abilities. It would be perrfect for them to share romantic moment then.
But it was only "do your best" sort of stuff. Not important at all. Possible romantic deal wasted, move on.

When they met future Lucy, he trusted Lucy just because she was Lucy.
Nakama. If this was Erza, Levi, Lisana, hell, even Gray, he'd do the same. He'd trust his friend. Because he's Natsu.

There is none, literally none romantic moments between Na and Lu. None. Natsu being attached to Lucy for me looks like a feeling that (sorry, but Natsu being insanely strong and cool, is dumb like a brick) innocent and dumb kid has to someone that happens to be around him lot of time. There is no love involved, or at least certainly wasn't before author decided: "damn, I should make those 2 a couple. Now how to.... SHOW HIM BOOBS!"

I take everything into consideration. Past has a lot of importance. And on this basis, even NaLi, with Lisanna being utterly trashed and irrelevant character, has better relationship foundation than NaLu. Because it would not be forced, it dates back to their past.



If you want to call it hate, whatever, let it be that way. Valid arguments for NaLu are welcome though.
Because it's not hate. I hate only one shipping in anime/manga I've ever got through and it is pure hate and despise. Sasusaku, Naruto, being worst ship ever. NaLu ridicule is not nearly close to making me so angry.

I'm actually a little confused. Do you have a problem nalu because they lack romance? Or because their bond is forced? Or is it because of their characters? Such as you don't like Lucy (or what has become of her character) therefore you don't like Nalu. Or do you find they have better connections with other people?

I don't like NaLu because they lack romance, their bond is forced, they have barely any reason to be together, all their interactions are either normal friendship talk and fun or awkward fanservice, plot convenience, no hint of love at all.

These questions were more for my benefit for clarification. Probably should have added that Nalu fans are annoying thus another reason to hate the ship. I find it amusing that we both hate Sas/Saku. Since we are polar opposites on the concept of Nalu.

And so last question: what constitutes as romance for you? You have already exampled Jerza as good. You also spoke of the one Nali flashback as basically (me paraphrasing) a jumping stone for a Natsu to have a relationship. You have also danced around labeling moments as romantic vs friendship vs fanservice. And that one sided love is not good even though early Gruvia and Nali were both depicted from Juvia and Lisanna's perspective more than Gray or Natsu you had little to no interests beyond close friendship.
