Was she really ever that important of a character?.
She probably wasn't. Still, I would have liked to see more. But apparently her only schtick really was ressurection and soul manipulation and Nakaba probably thought of her as disposable because she was mostly driving the Ban and Elaine storyline for a while and there is already a Commandment with a death-related decree, so maybe the future will focus more on Graylord.
Yup that was her only purpose really and to keep Elaine alive. Galan and Merascylla we're both expendable from the start.
But they could've been developed more as characters. Mind you, this is critizising Nakaba on a pretty high level at least with Galan since he got plenty of attention and was basically the archetype Commandment/villain of the first half of this major arc. He started out as an unstoppable force without being cringefully pretentiously evil like so many others of his category. The guy was a nasty piece of shit but he was a fun piece of shit all the while. His golf antics. The drunken escapades at Escanor's bar. Not to mention his old man grumpy mood swings coming from his wounded pride. I really want to know what he was like during his prime. Nakaba really could've gone there and showed more.
Granted they are interesting characters but Nakaba never gave them the chance to develop. Maybe it's just a shounen thing but Galan and Mera never felt like they'd be around for long anyway. Galan was the first commandment to make his move and to show off his power so it was inevitable that he was going to get killed off first. I still have hope that the remaining commandments will get some backstory and development because now is the best time.
I actually think that Galan was pretty well developed. Merascylla? Not so much. Galan had personality, goals, and a chance to show off. Merascylla's sole role in this series was to indirectly move side plots, first with Hendy and the three misfits, and then with Ban and Elaine. She herself, did nothing to prove her worth as a Commandment, nor show why they were a threat to the world at large, unlike Galan.

Seems like a cop out to me I mean aren't these guys suppose to be basically the opposite of the Sins(not in context to the information in the manga but just in a symbolic way) so basically it's like they introduced new members of the Sins and have them die and be completely useless. It's not that hard to develop 10 villains or even give them all cool seperate motivations.
Really? they never felt like that at all. From what has been shown most of the commandments already have their own motivations and personalities. They just haven't been given enough screen time or the chance to develop. What happened with Galan and Mera was a cop out and i agree. This ark isn't going to end any time soon and there is plenty of time for the commandments to get a decent about of backstory at least.
Looks like some designs were slightly altered. Originally Monspiet had a middle length cload barely beyond his wais, now it is a full one going down to his feat (probably to conceal his rapier? He still has his rapier, right? I hope so.)
Is it just his cloak that is concealing it?. Monspiet hasn't been shown with it since the 10C's first appeared.
Where else would he have it? I don't think he actually discarded or lost it and there is no reason to sell it. Unless you are implying the longer cloak IS the rapier, as in a shapeshift weapon. That would be an interesting thing.

Especialyl the last sentence in the bottom box is very interesting since it most likely refers to Gray Lord.
They also use spells related to death. And we know Gray Lord's decree is "Thou shalt not kill". Very curious.
