I wouldn't really miss the robot pirates all that much. I didn't mind them in the game but I didn't find them essential either... I wouldn't mind seeing an earlier game in which we get to see their origin and whatnot though. I wonder if its just me or it seems like technology is more advanced when you go back in time in the game. Usually you find "technology" but it is usually old and forgotten. The occa were somewhat current in TP however the temple of light, which seemed to have some degree of actual technology, was ancient. In WW you had the temple where link got officially chosen to be the hero. Within the context of OOT we can make the point that the stuff in TM was already ancient by then. Then we have SS where FI is somewhat of a program herself and there are remnants of technology potentially everywhere. If anything the idea of the goddesses at this point seems more like they were aliens with advanced technology or magic (or perhaps a combination). The story of the goddesses could easily be interpreted as them being allpowerful technologically advanced magical aliens that terraformed hyrule. The robots certainly had to be made by someone too. Maybe we will see a game which is set in a more technological setting but it will take place in the past. It would be interesting to see the events which led hyruleans to flee to the sky, maybe it would relate to the culture that developed the robots disappearing.I guess the 3 Goddesses don't look favorably towards technological advancements![]()
I dunno, Termina had a Clock Tower, Observatory and Cameras and they were left doomed to be destroyed by the Moon. (It was an evil mask who did it, but still..)
The most advanced technology Hyruleans ever made was either in the far past or far future (Adult Timeline) where the Goddesses just kinda left, I guess.
But what do I know? It's not like the Goddesses have done anything wrong, like, giving part of their powers to morally questionable gingers...
Yeah I know, it's part of Zelda's world that technology is supposed to lie off in the far corners of the world, and the best thing Hyruleans can muster are fishing rods. I have no problem if the next Zelda is gonna take that same route, but darn it, I want my Robot Pirates back. They need to come back, seriously.
A Robot Pirate riding his firebreathing dragon with a flaming chainsaw sword, fighting with Ganondorf in his dark magic powered mecha, shaped like his horse, against Link in his own Epona shaped mech...with guns
Somebody please make a fanart out of this.![]()
Another bit I found weird is that according to the hyrule historia the occa descend from the hyruleans that stayed at the sky. But over that time they developed all their advanced technology as they evolved into the stuff the internet believes actually is KFC's chicken. In turn hyruleans that went to earth did not develop anything of the sort. I was thinking that perhaps in the past humans themselves had a decent bit of technology and then some event led to them loosing it. It could have been when they fled to the sky and maybe they couldn't sustain it due to limitations in resources so they simply went back to a simpler life. Maybe the occa could develop their technology because they could travel between the sky and earth thus securing materials which they would need to develop stuff. Living in the sky (and evolving into things that should realistically scream "KILL ME NOW" from birth) would have meant they would benefit more from technological advancement. Maybe the birds they rode in the past went extinct so technology was a must. Or maybe as they evolved into WTF chickens the birds began to see them as food. Or maybe they became like that when they mated with those birds....
