Volk and Medanore is in the same tier. Even if Volk is stronger, I doubt it will be a tier above difference. (In Fact, I wont be surprise if Medanore is stronger or at least as strong as Volk)

As for Tokugawa beating Medanore. If it is like how (Tane and Zeus went) where Tokugawa can only won once in a 100 times. Then, yeah that wont mean too much. But if he wins convincingly, then Toku will be in that Volk/Medanore/Byodoin Tier.
We don't really know any of that. For what it's worth, Tokugawa could get boosted right before the match and still be much weaker than his opponent (like Atobe getting buffed training with Dorgias and then still having no chance against Romeo).

As for the match.

It came down to:

Righteousness Asura VS Ultimae Aura
I'm more intrigued about QP finding a way to resist Black Holes attached to his body. Duke with a Ki Jin couldn't.

It will be interesting how will Toku VS Medanore pan out. When it is kinda hinted that all Spain players will be on edge and then receive a mid match powerup

So, Seems like we are more concerned on how QP will handle Tokugawa's Techniques rather than the opposite.

The problem with QP is he have an insane OP Aura in Ultimate Aura. But without Aura, he is even weaker than Bismarck or Oni.

So, if Toku somehow manage to neutralize UA by putting black holes around his body, then it is over.

However, maybe we are underestimating Ultimate Aura. That is the strongest TNK or like to three radiances Combined. Maybe, it can negate black holes?

Surprisingly, this is a very even matchup between Germany's NEW #2 and Japan's New #2. (Let's face it. They are stronger than Bismarck and Tanegashima now. Lol)

QP’s serves with Ultimate Aura managed to crush Oni’s wrists and left him on the floor badly injured. Wirbeltaufe’s spin was enough to overcome Black Hole. I’m not saying QP’s serves with UA have the same spin but seeing that Duke broke through the BHole through pure power (even though he couldn’t control it and his shot almost killed his sister), maybe QP could do the same and break through it with raw power?

Even if he can’t he is smart enough to play around it like Frankesteiner did and the latter is levels below QP, he should have enough technique to avoid it or somehow find a way to break through it.

If Toku uses it to attach it to his body, I don’t see how eventually he would be able to still hit shots after some tries that would be in, unlike Duke who couldn’t control them.

Righteousness Asura VS Ultimae Aura is good choice, but I want to see it in full capacity, until then it's not fair for Tokugawa.
As for Medanore: If he wasn't injured he might have surpassed Volk.
It is obvious, he is better than Amadeus. (I wonder if Amadeus or Ralph are better than Q.P or not)
now, Tokugawa is about to face, someone that we are all agree, is better than these three I mentioned it.
And if he somehow wins over Medanore (something like Boss Vs Volk)
Then he is probably equal/better than these three.
Are you agree?
As Monster Volk said: He still lacks of physical strength, Medanore is not as strong as Volk, or his style, which lucky for Tokugawa otherwise he could have lots of problem, but he is as smart or even better than Volk on this occasion, so is Tokugawa somehow manages to stand against him in such a terms I think all he needs to do make himself strong enough to be on the same league with rest of S rank guys.
Still, these guesses are in his favor. Still when it came to basic tennis Q.P and other three (including Medanore) has a better status than him.

Right now I think QP will take it until Tokugawa gets another power boost.

Probably something like 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.

I think QP will overwhelm Tokugawa initially. Tokugawa can win next set after he adjusts a bit and spams black hole + Kijin. However, in the final set he is worn out and can no longer keep up.

Ultimate aura QP was basically utterly destroying Oni.

Ok, now this is a good point.

One advantage of Germany Top Players over Japan Top Players. Is The Germans have enough stamina and base tennis to control their power.

Look at Germany VS Japan

All Players Uses all their arsenals. Most of Japan players were near dying. But Germans are still ok to the point that they can even play one more set.

Volk was ok even after Volknado. Bismarck was ok even after spamming Kick Serves in tiebreak. QP was ok even after UA. Tezuka was ok even After Ultimata Zone.

In contrary, Byodoin nearly died. Oni was injured as hell. Duke/Niou and Tane/Akaya took some damage as well. Yukimura is the most ok, but he really cant measure up to Tezuka thats why.

However I think Tokugawa have his winning conditions. Same as QP's.

If they play 100 matches. I really think it is 50-50.

Damn, I cannot decide. I need to see more other's reasoning.

I think

Ryoma, Tokugawa, Medanore, Volk, and Byodoin will all be in same tier after the tournament.

I mean Ryoma never lose an official match cause he is MC. But I can see him losing to them in unofficial matches.

@Adamska

You said Byodoin Won against Volk but the latter is still stronger. It's just that Byodoin slight chance of winning happened by risking it all

Do you think same will happen to Tokugawa VS Medanore. Where Tokugawa will beat Medanore but the latter is still stronger?

Are you assuming QP will use UA at the beginning of the First Set. And then using it whole game?

Because Base QP barely managed to beat Base Oni in the First set. It was 7-5 iirc. I dont think Base Oni is much stronger than Base Tokugawa.

However, if it is UA At the start. Then yeah I can see the 6-2 score in First set. Maybe 6-1.

Tokugawa will surely adjust and use Black Holes + Righteousness Kijin to bounce back to win Second Set.

3rd set will be the decider though on who have enough stamina and arsenal

I'm going with Tokugawa. Black Hole is just hax and I expects him to get over some of its weakness in the final as well.

Wirbel Taufe didn't overcome Black Hole. The ball stopped, but Tokugawa himself couldn't do anything against it (until he started using a special grip).

Duke didn't really break through Black Hole successfully. Sure, he managed to move, but all he could do is send the ball flying and we didn't get to see him win any point since (Tokugawa won both of the final games).

If Volk didn't shoot through Black Hole like Frankensteiner did, what makes you think QP can?

This is the only matchup I cannot decide. I love both of them.

They are both very strong.

But If I am betting my money. I might lean towards Tokugawa just cause of Righteousness Asura being a protagonist Kijin almost always win.

The UA of QP is OP though. So I understand whoever will pick QP.

Yes I am assuming QP gets serious from the start.

Also Tokugawa black hole cannot be spammed for long or he will get injured.

I can see QP using stall tactics even and drag the match longer so Tokugawa exhausts himself.

Even though Black hole is great at returning virtually every shot, its not particularly powerful. QP can drag the rallies very long even if he loses some games eventually.

Kijin alone cannot deal with ultimate aura, he will need to spam black hole to stand a chance. I don't think Tokugawa kijin is much stronger than Oni's.

That’s right, even when he made Oni run back and forth to crush his spirit, he would stall the match longer to make Tokugawa faint after 30 min. I don’t see how his Ashura Kijin helps him against UA since Oni got wrecked with TnK.

I’m not saying he would break through directly, but eventually what makes you think he can’t stall Tokugawa long enough to reach Black Hole’s limit and make him faint?

It’s a shame because he really needs BHole to stand a chance, if he managed to enter Ashura’s path and goes through the door Byo left open and unlocks a new state then he wouldn’t need it, but his current Kijin it’s honestly not up there to face UA. Oni with TnK shouldn’t be no less than it and still got squashed like an ant.

Hm, true. I don't quite remember if the 30 minute limit for Black Hole was ever lifted. And there's a chance that using his Black Hole so far away strains him more, too.

I think I give it to QP 0-6 7-5 6-1 because of this.

Tokugawa even lost weight like you mentioned, and a lot of kg due to overusing Black Hole. After the time limits expires he gets wrecked, unless he can enter into the divine path of the Asura and go through the door that Byo opened instead of the path of 8C.

Let's take a look.
Medanore: who could have surpassed Volk if he wasn't injured.
Medanore: I'm the only one who can play vs him (Ryoga)
He is in the same level as Byodoin and Volk, though Volk is really a Monster and you can win vs him in normal way.
Now:
Tokugawa: He beated by the hands of Byodoin (60%) though he hit a shot, plus stick to his principles.
Then he beated by the hand of Monster Volk, who was physically stronger than him and he couldn't handle his strong shot.
After this: he beats King of Destruction, fair and square.
He was able to handle his strong shots, with black hole and his Asura. ( I think he (as he is now) could have handles Volk's shot as well)
So he improves a lot. He is better than Duke. Number3.
So we can put him on the same league with Bismarck?
He got a lot of potential, this what makes him separate from other G5 (except Boss)

So Basically he is more or less as strong as Bismarck, but with a promising potential which makes him to give him that he can beat Medanore, though more or less the same as boss did with Volk. Yet the problem is he has his way of doing things (honor) which makes it double hard to beat guy like Medanore.
Medanore is not like Volk, which makes Tokugawa using stamina/taking tech in order to play with him.
But I think he must have something which makes Tokugawa to choose between way of honor or the other way, more like:
If you do this, Japan will win, but if you don't and stick to your own principles we will lose.
I think Medanore will win. He must, otherwise it would be 3-0.

Poll will be up tomorrow.

I'm going with Chitose. I think Saiki allows you to get points against someone of much higher stats pretty consistently (This is clearest with Echizen vs Yukimura before Yips kick in). I just don't see Kite being able to handle it in Singles. In Doubles Kite value is much higher though.

Chitose should logically take it. Saiki should let him take control early and often. The only way I see Kite winning is if Twin Rackets makes Saiki too unreliable by adding too many factors, but I don't think it would. And also Kite didn’t master Nitoryu anyway

Right now. It should be Chitose. I actually think it is lopsided.

Kite didnt get anything to counter Saiki.

Kite is underwhelming this world cup.

1. He didnt master Nitoryu

2. He got destroyed by Henri

3. Rely on trickery with Marui to create a FAKE Nitoryu.

If I am a coach of Japan. I would have pick Chitose or Tachibana before Kite.

Yes, I agree with @-Ken-.

Kite's value is in doubles. He is not that strong in singles relatively.

Oohabu has actually "a complicated spin and movement that is unpredictable even for the player himself" (<- Hirakoba's 10.5 profile). So, by spamming Oohabus, Kite can probably turn Saiki "off" (just like Tachibana did with Abare Dama). He can hit them as serves and regular shots, too, not just smashes.

Does this mean that Kite accidentally hit 2 people in the head in his match vs Kimijima-Tohno and pretended it was on purpose because it makes him look cool? Maybe
