need to compare oranges with oranges guys... What other battle shounen anime will premiere?
Fair point. Kekkai Sensen S2 is airing, but I can only look forward to it so much since the director is different. The PV looked good though.

Never watched Kekkai Sensen. I will take a look.

Also, is this Shimabu one shot the one where it tells the story between his friendship with Oda?

You're saying this based on nothing
It's just personal opinion on my part here nothing that has been announced in regards to the anime hasn't struck me that it's going to be as bad as some think it will be. I'm not saying it'll be amazing when it airs I'm under the impression that it will probably be just a good watch in the fall season nothing more.

About Asta's VA, I LOVED eromanga-sensei cast. Hope it does a good job.

It's hard for me to agree with you but you're right... People here WANTS it to go bad. They are clearly desperate.

Wait, wait... Dr Stone is in 3rd?!!! Oh but some WCS are SOOO DESPERATE RIGHT NOW.

I fucking love this.

VENERATE VETERANS!
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I never implied anything. I merely said that Oda "has the right" to take breaks after what? 10 years of serialization? Horikoshi has 3, it's not fair with other mangaka that are serialized longer tham him (Gintama, Souma, Haikyuu, etc) that barely (never?) had breaks. Black Clover is not on a "stupidity" black hole. But the same goes for it. If Tabata is unable to draw he should take a year hiatus as well. I'm no hypocrite =)

Your MHA love is making you guys stupid.
The other 2 veterans have been in the bottom for 7 weeks straight, for Hungry Marie it's been even longer than that.
And what is that "stupidity" black hole supposed to be?

So he had the right to take in break in 2001 when the manga was 3 and a half years into serialization and again in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, up until its 10th anniversary in 2006 where he took 4 breaks that same year.

You sure you don't mean Venerate 1 in every 4 veterans?

I'm expecting them to do a decent job on BC. I don't really have any basis for it, it just seems like the kind of series they won't mess with despite Pierrot's track record. Maybe it's because it's so bad already, they won't feel the need to screw it up themselves any further?

I don't know where you heard about that, but this doesn't disprove anything. The OVA is a totally separate entity from the Anime series. One Piece also had a OVA and it changed VA too. Luffy had another guy and it really strange right now to think that he could have ended sounding like that.
does switching voice actors only occur when the ova is made by a different animation staff?

Even with the staff listing and the fact that Pierrot is working on it people are still delusional.

I don't really know, but I only know of two cases that did OVAs and the TV anime ended up with the same studio: Gintama and Toriko. I believe both kept their VAs.

the animation in Boruto has been consistently good, so hoping they give Black Clover the same treatment.

my only real issue with PIerrot is filler, but i could care less about Black Clover having filler. So I think they'll do a good job

The staff behind Boruto isn't working on this. Its also not all that consistent animation wise, people sure did forget about ēlDLIVE from January.

Yeah the animation scenes when Boruto was fighting Iwabe was pretty bad but overall it's been more good than bad I would say, Boruto has been great so far for something I had no faith in

Think you mean Beelzebub, not Toriko.

Well I counted them as one because it's one series. Still only makes it 2/5 though. Not that much better when rookies seem to have roughly a 1/5 success rate.

But yeh, staff behind BC are pretty important. Boruto being good has absolutely no correlation to how BC will be. If anything, it shows the same staff won't be working on it, so you can't expect it to be similar. Still, Naruto was mostly semi-decent when they were actually adapting canon content.

Yeah Boruto looks good in comparison to Pierrot's catalog but it has the benefit of a great director working on it and is a continuation of a highly succcesful franchise so it makes sense that it'll sustain a decent amount of quality which I don't think BC will have.

Early Naruto looks really bad in comparison to Boruto though which is to be expected since it was a 2002 digipaint show and it didn't start looking acceptable until the end of the Zabuza arc.

Yeah...got little faith in the new director. A lot of people hate him, somewhat good news is that it'll follow the manga more but doesn't mean that much if the director isnt good. I missed the old director. She was awesome, not sure why she left.
Never watched Kekkai Sensen. I will take a look.

You should. It's pretty episodic but very entertaining with a strong soundtrack. In fact, the ED is the best I've seen/heard and seems like Japan loves it because they made so many parody/crossovers over it. I can see Bones milking this franchise since it's one of their best sellers in a long time. Kekkai Sensen is one of Nightow's best work IMO.

Yes.

Where a series is totally, completely above criticism. Just try to critic it and you will see people here LOSING THEIR MINDS.

Still pierrot.

A newcomer for Asta's VA? Was it intentional? :O

Anime is usually a step up from the OVA anyway. One of the cases where it wasn't was for Toriko since that OVA was animated by ufotable

Gintama's OVA was pretty good and even the same studio.

As for One Piece's OVA it didn't nail Oda's art-style but was fun for what it was. Never got around to watch HxH's OVA. Takeshi's OVA could use subs since it adapted some content from a spin-off.
Damn I'm not a big Toriko fan but the anime would have really hype moments if ufotable did it instead of Toei.

Ufo did a fantastic job of capturing the feel of the manga unlike Toei which watered everything down.
