Tsutsui's success with WNL is pretty interesting, most of the time when an author can't come up with a hit publishers demote him to doing spinoffs, but this guy came from doing a spinoff to writing a hit in the main magazine
the last time this happened is with Akira Itou who did YuGiOh R then made Cardfight!! Vanguard
but most of the time it's the same old story
The guy that did Naruto chibi spinoff now does Boruto chibi spinoff
The guy that did Bleach chibi spinoff is no where to be found
The guy that does OP chibi spinoff did Majin no Gold which flopped
The guy that did Chopper spinoff didn't do anything successful but that, btw this guy is Shaman King creator younger brother
The guy that does Toriko chibi spinoff doesn't even work Shuiesha anymore and haven't done any other noticeable work
The guy that did Reborn! chibi spinoff did I Shojo, which I really don't know how to categorize, success? failure? dunno
The guy that does Kuroko prequel was in the magazine and did Volleyball Tsukai Gouda Gou which flopped
The guy that does AssClass chibi spinoff was in the magazine and flopped twice (he did Prince Grim and Edison)
The guy that does Haikyuu chibi spinoff was in the magazine and did Genson which flopped (he did a oneshot last year so maybe his dream of having his own series is still alive)
All of the other people that do YuGiOh spinoffs did nothing but that
The guy that does Prince of Tennis spinoff used to do Dragon Drive which lasted 14 volumes in Monthly Jump and was adapted to anime, he doesn't really fit with the rest of these guys
anyway, I hope my boi Dragon Garow Lee can follow Tsutsui's steps and doesn't just be known as the "Dragon Ball guy"
