Have they ever had something like Naruto in their hands? Nope.
Studio Pierrot throughout the years got a ton of popular series. That is the reason it is the 5th biggest company in Japan.

Some Examples:
- Osomatsu-kun
- Urusei Yatsura also known as Lum (from the creator of Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha)
- Kimagure Orange Road
- Heisei Tensai Bakabon (from the same creator of Osomatsu-kun. In fact this one got milked, one of the small cases of Pierrot using library series)
- Yu Yu Hakusho
- Tottemo! Luckyman
- Ninku (The father of Naruto)
- Midori no Makibaō
- Flame of Recca
- GTO (The only, Great Teacher Onizuka)
- Hikaru no Go
- Tokyo Mew Mew

And others, but basically the only ones I know that got any kind of "milk" from studio Pierrot are Bakabon, Osomatsu and Naruto

Different times back then, I doubt Dr. Slump would share the same success if they were to continue it ala DBS since its appeal its limited to the people who grew up with it in the 80's than now also its not like Toei stopped milking Dr. Slump given the new short films they've made for it and Arale's cameo appearances in DBS. But yeah it is quite amazing how successful Dr. Slump was despite the fact that it was only 18 volumes and got completely eclipsed by Dragonball shortly after.

YYH got milked enough between the movies, drama cds, characters songs and ovas. I would absolutely hate for them to remake it since the anime was a significant improvement over the manga and they would probably make the same mistake as the Sailor Moon Crystal and try to be faithful to the manga.
Dr. Slump wasn't completely eclipsed by Dragonball shortly after, don't forget that Dragon Ball was in television for 11 years, more than the double of the time of Dr. Slump. And Dr. Slump already was 5 times longer than the normal Long Running series of that time.
In fact Dragonball was a slow burning at first and one of the reason Toriyama turned it more fighting oriented and less about adventure. And why the anime was divided into Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

YYH Movies were released during the airing of the anime. 1 each year, like how normal long runners with success normally do. Hardly I would call it milking it, not in the way Leoat12 was talking about here.

The little cover that's on Dr.Stone didn't help the cover art at all in fact it looks slightly worse with it, at least to me. Such a shame that Hungry Marie's cover isn't better quick question though why didn't they go with the color page of Marie about to eat a cake would've worked for the volume cover.

It's common practice for American comics, but for Manga they typically don't use covers from individual issues for volume covers

Would've been the better choice in my opinion at least it ties into the manga a bit more then having Marie be off model, that's also not counting the fact that the cover looks like it's a Bleach cover.

Let's try again, this time I will give you a hint: Has it ever had a manga like Naruto (the third most sold in manga history!) in its hands?
One Piece and Dragon Ball are the first and second respectively and they were both made anime by Toei as you know.

My whole point though is not about Pierrot, but about Shueisha because no milk will be done without its consent, Shueisha is the one that milks the most, obviously.

That souma cover looks ridiculously good. Dr. Stone cover is not by far that bad as you guys made me think.

Not Uratarou level though.

Took a year and a half to crack the top 3 and unlike Dr. Slump it was ranked third whereas the latter went immediately to 1# in the magazine in the same year it started (and this was before the anime catapulted it even more ) of course this doesn't mean it was unpopular in the slightest it was hugely successful just wasn't the immediate runaway hit Dr. Slump was which honestly can be blamed on the competition it had in the 80's readers wanted manly action manga with burly protagonist compared to the gag centric manga of the 70's and since early Dragonball was fairly gag-centric still in tone of Dr. Slump it didn't catch on immediately and Fist of the North Star ruled the magazine polls till its conclusion but once Toriyama incorporated action into it along with the popularity of the anime it shot up to 1# and the rest is history. Now 30+ years later Dragonball is back on top which as of this year is Toei's most profitable franchise while Dr. Slump is held on mostly due to 80's nostalgia and occasional appearances in Super.

Kinnikuman got the Nisei series!
I know but I mean a reboot. That would be so cool; if they go for that older look like in this recent commercial.

Or they could just continue with the 2011 content.

Inosuke? No Rengoku? Looks cool nonetheless. I can't wait to see HQ cover.

Kono Oto Tomare and Saiki don't sell that much themselves so Dr. stone is pretty low for the best manga of all time. :3c
