"The impression that passes is that you all are boring old men who do not know to enjoy anything."

Lol what? xD If someone dislikes something or feels a certain way about it does it mean they're a boring old man?
That's not exactly what I meant. It is that in this thread, basically all members boast and venerate Boku no Hero, Kimetsu, Dr. Stone and Yakusoku no Neverland (I read them too, they are incredible manga), and they hate Black Clover, Tomatoypoo and Spring Weapon, this is kind 99% of people here.

What bothers me the most is that as soon as you read a new manga, the first thing you think is "hmm, this looks like what I saw in that manga," you know? You SEEK copies in things, you read looking for reasons to speak badly, and this seems old grumpy thing.

Besides that you just only post things against the manga that you do not like. Using Kimetsu as example, no one said anything about one of the first villains to have vector power EXACTLY EQUAL to that of Medusa in Soul Eater. Or has anyone here seen it? Ah, but because Black Clover has Dungeons, it's identical to Magi...

Again, I am not speaking against you directly, but in general.

For whatever it's worth, most people on this thread read/watch BC. No matter what anyone says if it was super trash they wouldn't read it. Even with the complaints I've yet to see anybody really go on a GIA-like rant when it's just baseless bashing and never listing reasons why they're bashing it. People actually for the most part give reasons of their issues and dislikes.

I don't seek plagerism or terrible writing out, I just pay attention.
I'm not grumpy, I'm just passionate.
Black Clover is style over substance to an insulting level (even if I'm entertained every week by it now)

Some of us our masochists. Some of just wanna laugh alongside the burning train throttling towards it's inevitable crash into Jump's mighty axe.
I do get entertainment out of it, but it Tabata really is a hack. He's like the Zack Snyder of Jump.

I mean, I've never really said that any of the newer manga in Jump right now are revolutionizing things or anything. They definitely follow a lot of stuff from the Shounen formula, I mean, it's what you'd expect from a Shounen mag. If people like Hero, Kimetsu, Stone and Neverland, maybe it's because they managed to find a way to really stand out in a positive way, using all kinds of methods, ranging from presentation, art style or whatever. Of course people will compare things, it's what people do, it's in their nature, I think it's pointless to be too bothered about it. I only dislike BC, not hate it. I have no opinion on Tomato Dog and Spring Weapon, since I haven't read them, plus I don't think they're getting translated properly. There must be a good reason why so many people band up against BC, whether or not if it's the fact that a lot of people consider it to be ripping off a lot of other shounen manga or if it's some other reason.

Maybe you are a grumpy old woman :teehee. Jokes, but point still is the same. You get pleasure from the pain and it makes you entertained. If it was that bad you wouldn't get that much entertainment I think?

I don't particularly find it to be very good, aside from the comedy chapters. This tournament has been really boring to me. However, it's pretty painless to read, and it hasn't offended me in a while at least. I wouldn't be buying the volumes if I didn't like it to some degree.

I'm not here to protect Black Clover or anything, despite everything I said, I agree with most who say that Tabata has, and much, to improve as a writer. The manga has a rhythm too fast, it has almost nothing of deepening of character and things of the type. And just to say, my favorite manga from the magazine now is Yakusoku at Neverland.

My point is that Black Clover is a manga directed mainly (because besides that, it also has the female audience. Whoever accompanies Black Clover on Twitter knows what I'm talking about, the fangirls love the manga) for the audience of 8~13 years, children who love magical powers, transformations, fights. The same tastes that we had in our time, where we saw all this in Naruto and enjoyed it as if it were the best anime of all (at least it was so here in Brazil).

Given the target audience, Black Clover delivers EVERYTHING that his followers want. Of course he picks up on Naruto's success, Jump's own editor-in-chief said so. Since from the beginning, BC is a manga made exclusively for commercial purposes, as if it were built for it. Just saying that it's annoying how, when we read a manga, the first thing that people seek is the bad side or copy (even if it exaggerates about it, like Yuno = Sasuke. C'mon guys, undoubtedly they're look alike in visual and being powerful, but Yuno loves Asta and treats him as his only and greatest rival, and offers all the necessary support. Sasuke was indifferent to Naruto for all the manga, disdained him at first and everything else. Their personalities are not even close similar)

You literally pulled this out of your ass. If people actually hated Black Clover, they wouldn't be reading it weekly (unless you're a masochist like Rica over there lol).
I may be speaking for myself here but I mainly read BC because I'm a big fan of battle manga, and there aren't enough of them to satisfy me. It's not like it takes long to read the chapters anyway.
Again, I don't hate Black Clover. I do however dislike how 1) it's being pushed as the next huge thing when it isn't anywhere near the quality of previous big titles (besides the art), and 2) how Tabata hardly attempts to move away from tropes/cliches and continues to play it as safe as possible.

What bothers me the most is that as soon as you read a new manga, the first thing you think is "hmm, this looks like what I saw in that manga," you know? You SEEK copies in things, you read looking for reasons to speak badly, and this seems old grumpy thing.
Who is "you"? Cody? The members in this thread? I don't know about the others, but I look for enjoyment in manga, not similarities. I don't mind similarities between manga. It's shounen after all. I do mind however when the similarities are so strong that it comes off as the mangaka not even trying to make an identity for themselves.

Given it's huge push, it's not really a success
Pretty much this. Sure when you look at the sales numbers, it's easy to call it a success. But when you look at it relative to the amount of pushing it receives, it hasn't really shown impressive results.

There's still the anime that could possibly boost it's sales by several 100

I agree with what it says on the push side, but even so, BC is one of the safest manga at the moment, is growing in sales and has a good amount of extra sales (things like key chains and similar products). It is also necessary to wait for the true action to begin in the anime. Everyone here wanted and believed that Boku no Hero would have a boost in the second season, why not believe that BC will also have a boost coming soon too?

Success, no one has defined what "success" means. Really curious what definition people are using for success when BC is selling more than 70% of all manga

Not sure, but look like, for 1st time in this 5ch topics, someone post fake.

But in 2 case, look like "login" its different compared to before. Habitual guy change login and post at 7:44pm or same day, they are 2 fake. In 2 post, number is very near.
From the second post you also see sales out of the top 50, down to 100th place. Heroaca vol 15 being close to 600k in around 8 weeks is good, albeit rather slow growth. What's more interesting is Shudan's color page despite the low ranks and that its vol 1 sales, which aren't even at 9k. Ther has to be something else going on in the background here.

Honestly i know people dislike Black Clover, but to say the series isn't successful is clearly bullshit...

Some people like Black Clover, others don't, this is getting kinda old.
But yeah, on the topic of its success, it is doing well, as anyone can tell, but it definitely could be doing better. (Which it might in a couple months)
All considering how much they're trying to make sure its popular, of course.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.

In other news, glad the numbers were corrected, I was getting a bit confused on MHA there for a second, would be a strange drop.

I'd say if it shows up on the top 30 franchises of 2017 then it's a success. Gintama, Soma, and Hero Academia were there so it's expected that Black Clover should too. Especially if it wants to live up to the expectations of "the next Naruto".

And since Sharkbait wants me to define "success", I'll explain the way that I see it: Yeah, in comparison to other manga, it's really successful seeing as most manga can't even break 100k. But you shouldn't be comparing it to the entire manga market, you should be comparing it to other Jump manga.

When you look at how all the promotion it's gotten has only amounted to about 200k first week sales, it's kind of hard to call it successful. I wouldn't call it a flop, but it's not something majorly successful either. When you compare it to Hero Academia, which had a similar amount of promotion, the results are hardly anything to write home about.

Seems like that's being said a lot for BC honestly.

To be fair here it doesn't really have a lot of good outside the manga. There's the card battle game that just went up but outside that not much else. There's no point in looking at its ratings as well.

It is. Because it has just gotten an anime adaptation, so we're in a spot where only time will tell.
