It's like D Gray Man/FMA x Pinocchio love child the timeskip was surprising but makes sense since it wouldn't make sense if Noah could become an arcanist at such a young age. I hope his training gets explained more. Golem Arts itself it still kinda muddy in how it works

Except that's exactly what they seem to be doing. Viz removed Kenshin from their site, the live action broadcast was cancelled, and the manga is on indefinite hiatus. Watsuki's career might be done for.

He wasn't do much of anything up until last year given how every single one of his works post Kenshin flopped and he wound up crawling back to it thanks in large to the success of the live action films and gave us a shitty reboot prequel manga before kicking off Hokkaido a year ago. Its sad though since he's become the butt of many jokes on twitter and 5ch these last few days and the manga's legacy is tarnished. I wonder if Oda or Takei have anything to say about since they both worked under him as assistants during Kenshin's run in Jump.

For what? We see the coin stack challenge, but not the real important training like his new level 3 spell. We get introduced to the edgelord rival which could have happened at the organization's headquarter after the time skip. We see Lamech die, just for him not to die and get written out of the story.
GH could have started at this chapter and the past 4 chapters could have been flashbacks. Now it looks like the author made the time skip in fear of getting axed.

That's my thought for Golem Hearts, that maybe it's not doing well in reader votes and he's rushing past the intro/prologue stuff hoping the meat of the series will be better received. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

To introduce motivations and rivals for the MC? It's no different then any other shonen

This series has to get venerated, it's just enjoyable. It's miles better Stone and Demon's Plan. MHA had an early timeskip in the same fashion so can't have it both ways. Teenage Noah is cooler too.

I feel like Golem Hearts should have just started with older Noah, and condemned the whole prologue within the first 2 chapters

speaking of Giga, one of the mini series is about water polo! an unusual premise for a sport manga, I guess Jump is looking for more sports hits before the Olympics

I'm liking the new characters introduced this week over last week's duo, more intriguing in their own way. I'll be looking out for how the author finesses the plot of the tests, got Hunter exams vibes w/ the fodder being taken out early.
