I don't think mangaka and editors go into serializations thinking their series are going to be bottom dwellers. It costs money run a series in the magazine thus editors and Shueisha's business departments will ideally want every series to succeed. Its more like they end up as bottom dwellers. Seishun has outlasted Marie despite Marie selling more than double it according to some estimates. While we will never know who it appeals to, I can't help but think there are other series that are deserving of a spot in Jump to try and make it big. We've been over this before, but there probably is some demographic that are absolutely in love with the series and they're big enough to consider letting it stay for more than a year.
My bad. Autocorrect changed destined to designed. I agree that everyone wants a hit, and I speculate that they're trying to appeal to the younger end of their audience. The designs are wacky and funny looking, and a lot of the humor is very visual in nature.
There was a persistent annoying bunch in some communities that kept trying to deny it or come up with reasons that it wouldn't be on the same place, now they'll shut up. Having a confirmation was nice for me because it means another 2 cours for sure in my eyes. It could've had the same TV station, but a different air time.
I believe Crunchyroll posted the news too (though it seems to have been deleted since so...). The OP/ED also don’t show anything past a single cour and no other reliable sites seem to have posted it or have it listed.
You may be onto something, and it could just end with the Tsukasa match.
I wonder how they choose these replacement oneshots, if they have ones planned for future issues jump ahead or if they've got specific 'sudden break' oneshots on standby that are decent enough to fill space in an emergency but aren't quite good enough to publish normally.
Cyan Steam have released the first chapter of KK in the City of Fog. Not that it says much, but it' the best Moue's work to date. The art looks crisp and effective, although the perspective is off sometimes, like the goggles on KK's hat never look right. The panelling is less stiff then before and even inventive sometimes. And he definitely does some justice to the setting of the seedy victorian age London. The chapter wasn't really heavy on the plot, but as far as introductions go it did enough to conjure a proper mood. Strangely I found myself looking forward to the rest now.
Kicking Moue down again and again seems to be paying off for the editorial in the long run.

The artwork is definitely interesting. Pretty interesting story, I think I'd like to see more of it. I hope we get to see Numa Shun's oneshot translated soon
