Really put perspective on how big that 2nd MHA boost actually was. Was pretty much the same as BC sells in total, and those volumes had all been boosted before.

Also didn't actually expect Neverland to do better than BC. 14 volumes with anime boost in the top 150 for weeks plus obviously the regular numbers from volumes released this year, and it still couldn't outdo 6 of Neverlands... That's insane.

Neverland is a monsta. xD Yeah, that second season boost for Academia is impressive, it doesn't happen too often.

Why do they all look like their from ps1 era jrpgs like star ocean 1/2???

Top right boy looks cute. Guess Ill watch.
Lots of cute boys in there. This cover doesn't even scratch the surface.
Hoshin Engi cover for a magazine.

they literally cannot skip any arc now. Please do not skip anything. :pwned 48~60 episodes or GTFO

In this cover, there is a character that got introduced after a big arc, but in order to have that big arc another character from earlier need to be introduced, and for that character to be introduced there has to be another small arc in between.

Well, at this point I feel like it will be over 2 cours long, it'll be a first for the studio, but they can probably handle it, they might take some breaks in between cours.

What would you say if it got the Ushio to Tora treatment with 39 episodes, a first season that has two cours and then a final season with another 13 episodes.

about ANN article about underrated manga that ran in Viz WSJ

replace Stealth Symphony and Red Sprite with Shudan and UBS and I would agree with the list

for some reason in the end of the article the author gives a honorable mentions to Hinomaru Zumou and Double Art, which is weird because I'm sure they never actually ran in Viz SJ and if he's talking about the most underrated manga in the entirety of WSJ in its history then his entire fucking list is wrong

Volumes under the top 50:
169,871 Yuuna's Haunted Hot Springs 4
156,858 Yuuna's Haunted Hot Springs 5
137,842 Yuuna's Haunted Hot Springs 6
128,389 Yuuna's Haunted Hot Springs 7
592,960 copies sold in total.
Apparently, it's a good number.
But it could be better.

It is a good number for such a new romcom. What else is doing better right now that is a romcom of Yuuna's kind?

Ecchi? Worlds End Harem
Romcom? Komi-san, Kaguya-sama, probably more

Yuuna is more of an ecchi romcom though, so I guess it's biggest contender right now is Worlds End Harem. They're both doing really well, I feel like they might announce an anime for Worlds End Harem as well, maybe even at Jump Festa.

Weird somehow we are living in a world where a prominent well acclaimed and popular series like The Promised Neverland is Underrated...ANNfail.
"As of now, the only reason Neverland hasn't become a bigger deal is because it's still too early for an anime adaptation." I disagree, it is already popular in the shonen jump manga reading sphere and it has no anime. There were several other manga they could have put instead of TPN, lettuce not forget they even did a feature on it too https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/fe...17-manga-guide/the-promised-neverland/.123872

Im glad true underrated gems from leading writers of Japanese Literature are actually mentioned. Everyone needs to read Stealth Symphony. It actually redefined storytelling and drama for the magazine, which no series has yet to reach ever since.

" Narita's fascination with charismatic yet amoral killers and over-the-top violence often clashes with the tonal expectations of a Jump manga"
Masterful.

Replace TPN with Psyren, ANN. And Barrage with Zoo.

TPN isn't really underrated. Lol that one sentence mention about HZ, that should've been the main focus of the article but nothing new, ANN articles are awful.

Maybe i'm the only one but i extremely dislike how the author/artist use the exact same face protagonist just different hair color and/or supporting characters for multiple series. You can't distinguish them.

Example of same face protagonist on multiple series

Barrage -> MHA (different color hair) although his rabbit one design is unique.
Beelzeblub -> Hungry Marie (exact same)
Early(?) Kuroko -> Robot x Laser Beam (different color hair)
Ichigo 100% - Ane Doki
Iron Knight - Red Spirte
Anything by Mx0 author

Maybe
Hungry Joker -> Black Clover ( i can kinda see the resemblance but they are different enough)
Black Cat -> To Love RU

Example of not same face
Each JoJo's part (you can make an argument on part 1 and 2)
Dr Slump -> Dragonball (different genres)
Takeshi -> Toriko (different genres but my point still stands)
Double Arts -> Nisekoi
Zombie Powder -> Bleach
Hikaru no Go -> Death Note -> Bakuman
Yu Yu Hakusho -> Level E -> Hunter x Hunter

Looking at that list, it just seems like in general, whatever doesn't have an anime adaptation is considered underrated by the Western uninformed incompetent trashy anime article writers, pretty funny. I really hate ANN. I like to get my anime and manga news from Moetron, shout-out time.
