Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2018] - Discussion and TOC Talk

[WesKR]

We were rather fortunate, we got like 20 chapters in less than a year.

[MangAniMY]

Hunter x Hunter takes a week one break in Shonen Jump issue 18.
.
.
well , time to reread this arc
.
.
Will return the following week in issue 19.

Ok... not just yet

[SharkBait]

Or will it...

[MangAniMY]

That is the question...

actual question though (again) do we have enough chapter to fill a volume yet?

[cody]

Speaking of HxH, its 20th anniversary was rather uneventful. OVAs never.

[tirakai]

Probably because it hasn't actually been running for 20 years, at least a third of that time has been in hiatus. Maybe even half.

This amazed me, in short, is the second most sold manga Jump and do not dedicate anything?

More or less....

A chapter is missing to fill the volume.

Neverland didn't win the Manga Taisho award, again. Beastars won it.

There is still tezuka award in May

[Doughboy]

Does anyone know what NHK is?

[MangAniMY]

Does anyone know what NHK is?

The manga/anime or the network?

Oh it’s a network, makes sense. Thanks, I was reading this jump article and was confused.

20 Years is still 20 Years.

[SharkBait]

Not like there arent 11 more months to celebrate its 20 years

There isn't.

[shoyoboyo]

For the 20th anniversary, HxH will be going on a 20 year hiatus. Please look forward to Togashi-sensei's return.

About time something else besides TPN won an award. I love TPN and all, but I personally enjoy Beastars way more. Glad it won. Congrats to Itagaki-sensei.

I'm coming with the question made yesterday but in hard mode:

What would be your most 10 Jump enjoyable manga of all time?

In my case, with no order: Yu-Gi-Oh, Saint Seiya, Black Clover, Boku no Hero Academia, Naruto, Kenshin, Kinnikuman, Ring ni Kakero, One Piece, and Captain Tsubasa.

[Drmke]

All-time Jump Favorites?

Slam Dunk
Hunter x Hunter
One Piece
YuYu Hakusho
Rookies
Assassination Classroom
Death Note
Rurouni Kenshin
Eyeshield 21
Majin Tantei Nogami Nuero

Runners-up include: Jaguar, Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure, Rokudenashi Blues, The Promised Neverland (though way too new), Haikyu!!, Hikaru no Go, and Bakuman.

I've dropped most Jump series over the years so I don't count those. Others like Dragonball, Naruto, or Bleach have long lost their charm overtime.

[TheEnhancedExe]

My favourite Jump manga would be
Assassination Classroom
Bakuman
Boku no Hero Academia
Death Note
Haikyuu
Hunter x Hunter
Naruto
One Piece
Shokugeki no Souma
Yakusoku no Neverland
(no order)

I haven't finished any of the older series and most of the Jump manga I've read have been from recent years. HxH, Naruto and Souma will most definitely fall out. I just haven't really found the time to read some of the older manga (although I started reading Slam Dunk, just didn't find the time to continue). Neverland is in there despite being new, because the only other options would've been Bleach, which I dropped during the final arc and Black Clover. Compared to both, I enjoy TPN a lot more.

[Inumaru]

Here's my top 10:
Sket Dance
Boku no Hero
Saiki
Haikyu!!
Bobobo
World Trigger
Toriko
Jaguar
Eyeshield 21
Hareluya Boy
