Like...I'm personally not someone to drop something on the moral objections against the creator (mostly), but...it's simply someone's moral decision? How hard is it to understand that.

Also, using Mel Gibson and Kevin Spacey as examples isn't really applicable because, you know, they're actors. In spite of the culture surrounding them they only in specific cases have a creative influence on a work.

32 - Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc 2 - 377,910
THIS IS NOT MAKING THIS DISCUSSION BETTER

virtue signalling
noun
That’s a noun and a verb. Come on, son.

Or people can simply enjoy a work of fiction while still acknowledging that the creator has done terrible things.
I think this is fair. Like I draw the line harder because of my own personal experience but if that’s someone’s response I’m not gonna accuse them of being wrong. It’s all personal feelings in the end, innit.

Also, using Mel Gibson and Kevin Spacey as examples isn't really applicable because, you know, they're actors.
Mel Gibson is a director too, to be fair, though I’d argue an actor is a creative, and still applicable.

And god the sales chart isin on the action!!! Curses

Neverland isn't going to last a lot, so since Samurai 8 goes growing the Naruto way (still, a thing to see), early 2020s fight could be My Hero Academia vs Samurai 8.

And Samurai 8 would be getting a very difficult fight. My Hero Academia is being pretty solid right now. That sales number without anime in almost one year is a proof that Hero Academia has consolidated as the second Jump franchise manga after One Piece.

Awfully confident about Samurai 8, considering no one is really sure how well it'll actually do.

What about JJK? It's growing the most out of anything in Jump. Do you think it'll join the 500K club eventually?

Impossible to say. It's growth has been crazy good, so it's entirely possible after the anime it'll get there.

I hope so, but my main concern is that Jujutsu is by far the most irrelevant Jump manga in West. Nobody outside Japan cares about Jujutsu, while Chainsawman is already more popular :emobirb

I'm sure it'll be a thing once the anime starts. Just look at Kimetsu.

Blame Antitubers sucking Dragon Ball Super and Samurai 8's dicks and not caring about the actual current layout of Jump.

Wasn't Kimetsu such a thing, that it had 4chan fans that translated it pre anime?

Yes, but the difference in sales between the first and last volume of Kimetsu are much, much smaller and in MHA's case.
You're not taking into consideration the time frame with which we are comparing Kimetsu volumes and MHA volumes. Put Kimetsu first and the then current volumes side by side after a year and you'll see a sizable difference.

I don't really know, but in any case, it's a bigger thing now that it was before. 4chan fan-translations are a tier below established Edited Manga groups imo. It's not the same as appearing in Mangastream with mha, tpn, op, 7ds and basically every manga that's popular in the west.

Jujutsu is barely year old anyway. Things need time to catch on overseas, unless there's reason for the west to care from the beginning (i.e Kishimoto). Chainsaw-man is more an exception than the rule, but even then, doesn't the author have a pretty decent following online? Plus Fire Punch was licensed in a bunch of places, right?

I feel like no manga in this era "starts" huge. It's basically starting at the bottom and working your way up.
