Also with this 3 strikes rule, who's on their last chance?

I know Iron Knight/Red Sprite guy, Mutou Black/Last Saiyuuki guy, Mitsukubi Condor/Amalgam guy each could have one more try.
Naoki Azuma (Shonen Guardian and Sowaka), though Naoki left Shueisha and is now at Kodansha
Amon Dai (Muteki Tekki Spin-chan and Taizo Moteo)
Naoya Sugita (Zan and SWOT)
Katsutoshi Murase (KO Sen and Dois Sol)
Kizuku Watanabe (Marchen Oji Grimm and Koisuru Edison)
Kenta Komiyama, Yūya Kawada duo (Kikai Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyu and Smoky BB)
KAITO (Cross Manage and Buddy Strike)
Kosuke Hamada (Dogashi Kaden and Pajama na Kanojo)
Shinsuke Kondou (Retsu Date Senpai and Judos)
Masahiro Hirakata (Best Blue and Shinmai Fukei Kiruko-san)
Tomohiro Hasegawa (Koi no Cupid Hakenohara Jin and Spring Weapon No 1)
Tsunehiro Date (Cross Account and Tokyo Wonder Boys)
Ryohei Yamamoto (Love Rush and E-Robot)
Yusuki Tanaka (Hitomi no Catoblepas and Kagijin)

Takuma Yokota (Shudan, Straighten Up) can be also included I guess. Majority of these will probably never return to the magazine though (some already left Shueisha, some moved to Jump+)

Kentaro Fukuda (Devilyman & Futari no Taisei) looks like the next guy to join that list

Has Kano Yasuhiro ever actually been cancelled?

if Mx0 was extended
I think I remember him talking about ending Pretty Face early by his own choice since he ran out of ideas
and I had thought Harisugawa was like that too, didn't it mostly rank mid-low and ended early due to the premise being too trapped?

The guy's series tend to do passably, they just have very limited premised. And of course now he's had a series with a good full run in Jump+ so he'd maybe be free to come back. Though who knows if he'd want to return to the main magazine still.

I remember Harisugawa selling almost the same as Nisekoi.
Also, if we go with the 3 strikes rules, Obata would draw Hikaru no Go or Death Notes.

It's possible that mangaka who just do the art might not be included in that rule. It would be downright ridiculous for WSJ to ever let someone with Obata's skill go. If that ever happens, the editor in chief at that point should be kicked out.

Inagaki: When I first started, my first editor in WSJ said this to me that still resonates with me strongly:
"The most important thing in the manga industry is CoroCoro"
I still think so too. Of course, Saikyo Jump is just as great.

Shinohara: The reason Shounen Jump could stay on top is because its target audience was always younger than any other shounen magazines. Always maintaining a policy of bringing in new series aimed at kids, even if they are constantly axed. By keeping the door open for the young audience, you can secure brand new readers that are coming in. That said, the reader demographic have gone up in recent years.

Inagaki: Canceling a series may seem negative for adults, but kids don't care. They just go"Those past few weeks a lot of fun! It would've been nice if it continued". New series make it easier for new readers to join, at least for the first couple weeks. By no means is "series that ended short = failure". There are plenty of Jump manga that I love, even if they didn't get an anime.

Getting some Noah Notes vibes from Mitama, but it seems he's her bodyguard?
Never read Noah, but just from the cover the female lead looks a lot less damsel-y than the girl from the new series.

And the premise sounds way more pretty interesting too. Why don't more manga have chapter titles like "Prof, we're talking to a Rabid Dog in an Underground Cemetery"?

Interesting, especially this part:

But there are barely any kids reading the magazine nowadays...

Quickly cancelled series feel kind of necessary thinking about it from a kid's perspective. Episodic stuff like gag manga and short series are much easier to keep up with than multiple-year long series with big story arcs where you need to remember who everyone is and what's happened recently.

It also explains the shift away from that stuff, there's not many young kids reading these days so the gag manga and heavily episodic action series don't gather much of an audience compared to long runners you can get very invested in.

Other magazines still do fine with gag manga but a good portion of the successful ones draw at least partially from the moe slice of life side of things, while Jump seems set on having gag manga specifically be for kids and the adult appeal is secondary and just is some dirty jokes or references.

David wasn't for kids, and neither was Isobe Isobee.

Unless we're assuming all kids are huge perverts.

Jujutsu Kaisen is pretty low on this ranking. I hope everything is going ok. Because more people need to read this series.

Does it even matter? JJK absolutely crushes Stone in sales despite their massive TOC gap and will probably surpass BC on their next volumes seeing how the series has grown. At this point, i'm kinda tuning out on TOC cause i refuse to believe readers consistently rate JJK,AA and CSM that low while their sales keep growing while something like stone which stagnated even with an anime gets superb reviews yet nobody really buys the tanks

So, I have been following WSJ since 2016. However, I stopped following for a while in the beginning of this year because of some irl shit.
Could someone explain to me what changed in the status quo since then? I was trying to read the thread by myself to see everything but its just too much pages
The last round I saw was Kamio Yui/Last Sayuuki
If anyone could answer, I would be very glad

Kousuke Hamada already left Shueisha, he's now on Kodansha making Hanebado on good Afternoon, which got an anime adaptation last year.
