Well, considering there's a limited amount of series in the magazine and one cancellation might mean the survival of a series you like better, it makes sense to me. Obviously I would prefer it if I enjoyed every series and every series could last as long as it needed, but that's not how it works. If, for instance, they have to choose between Yozakura or Mitama (which sounds like a likely choice for the editors to make), I would hope for Yozakura to go away. Not because I hate the series or anything.
I'd put the blame more on lack of creativity/talent than the concept not being able to work as a serialization.

So Japanese readers are the one who decide the order of character on the cover, not the board of editors huh.
Of course that in the end of the day is more about the author being able to work, but there are many themes and concepts that are simply harder to pull it off in a magazine like Shonen Jump, and giving another look at the one shot, it would probably even go to a similar route of Yozakura being a comedy series about the doctor treating different creatures without any big plot for a while

Is the cover confirmed to be just One Piece or could it be another group one with One Piece LCP? Normally the doubles have 2 group covers iirc.

Well everyone pretty much agrees that Yozakura had a pretty promising start, but then slowly started to feel like there’s no clear direction or goal in the series, causing everyone to lose interest in it.
