It seems Jump has revealed My Hero Academia season 5 airing on Spring 2021.

EDIT: This isn't confirmed. We'll know better for sure tomorrow.

Probably revealed on this saturday's Hero Fest, since jump officially comes out the next day. It's kinda unfortunate how many of MHA announcements get "spoiled" because of this saturday-centric schedule, I think this happened with all the new season announcements so far.

We've all agreed in the past that Amazon pre-orders aren't the best metric, but I do want to point out that Ayakashi had good rankings before, and now that they've added the cover, it shot up to #294. That's pretty damn good, especially considering Mashle 3 is sitting at #1,935, releasing on the same day.

Quite an interesting TOC. There's 8 unranked titles this week mostly in the top half so it feels quite bottom heavy.
  • Mission: Yozakura Family - Another ranking in the top 5, looks like the more serious arc paid off.
  • Me & Roboco - Its worst ranking so far but it looks worse than it is; it's still 7th place and ranking higher than the rest of its batch for another week.
  • Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - Also not a bad ranking, but looks worse since it's just touching the bottom 5.
  • Moriking - Got a little boost this week, at least it's not dead last. Still don't think it's safe.
  • Ayakashi Triangle - Ouch, third last isn't great. Volume sales will be important here to see if this is just a blip or not.
  • Agravity Boys - It's still second last... but what if it survives another cancellation round?
  • Magu-chan - Sorry to its fans, this doesn't look good. I thought it might avoid the next round of cuts but seems even less likely now.

Dang, Magu-Chan last. Didn't expect that since I thought Moriking and Agravity were bottom 2 locked, but Moriking escaped it. Would be funny if Agravity survives again. Ayakashi also dropped, but it should be fine since it will probably sell really well.

Nice for Yozakura again, people liking the action arc which is a good sign. Interested to see the UU cover

Spy x Family has 6 million in circulation.

Dear god, over 1 million per volume total. Shit is now beating HeroAca’s sales to volume ratio and it don’t even got an anime yet. My big worry is that the anime won’t increase manga sales at all. We have to peak at some point. Even Kimetsu has arguably peaked.

Yeah. There's a chance SxF anime won't do much for it. Assassination Classroom, SxF's closest comparison, barely got a boost from the anime.
That said, lets see. It'll be an interesting series to follow once it gets an anime.

It has the same circulation as One Piece, or really close
(Tokyo Tower is the source) in 1998 One Piece has 6 million copies (sold or circulation)

If you count December 3, 1998 then it's 6 million copies in 6 volumes, if you don't then it's 6 million copies in 5 volumes

Happy to see Yozakura so high up again, and getting a CP next time as expected because of the fan contest. Ayakashi low sucks to see, but my guess is it's just a one time thing, fully expecting to see it's volume do great in a few days and this blemish will be a thing of the past. Looking forward to seeing the Undead Unluck cover and LCP! As for Magu-chan I'd say it'd go soon but then again Agravity is almost at 40 chapters soooo.

Pretty interesting ToC this week, good for Yozakura for staying in the Top 5 and even getting another CP, seems to finally be getting back on its feet. Happy that Cop and Dolphin avoided the bottom again this week, tho it could be a bit higher but ok.

Ouch for Magu-chan, had it worse placement this time, it’s gonna take a miracle for it to live. Ayakashi too took a nosedive, tho it’s definitely nothing to be worried about for the meantime, specially with the first volume coming.

Can’t wait for UU cover and Mashle’s next week

Nakano letting Amano with a detective manga go to Plus when could perfectly fit SJ and be popular, but nah lets do more exorcist and gag series :notrust

Happy for the return but i was really looking forward to be on WSJ, at least i believe we will get on MangaPlus, excited to read it :^_^
Eldlive was both fullcolor and seasonal, if Amano does something like that again they simply just can't run it in WSJ

On this subject, what other older Jump series should also get this treatment?
Moeru! Onii-san new editions would be nice and anime reboot too

December 2nd Volumes
Kaijuu No. 8 Volume #01
excited to see how much this will sell, hopefully it doesn't get buried by kny backlog

Maybe not in Japan, but I believe it can still grow in the manga/anime online community, where it is not well known yet.
I know anime are produced mainly for the Japanese market, but since it is a series that can be enjoyed by a wide audience, I think it has high chances of becoming a success also in other parts of the world..

Sure. But when talking about sales, we are only talking about sales in Japan.

We hardly ever get sales statistics for anywhere outside Japan. So that conversation is moot.
