Eh, stable sales are better than nothing at least. What WSJ needs right now is some more stability after all, even if they're not huge series it is still nice to have something we can trust to stick around for a while instead of half the magazine always being at risk of cancellation.

Look, I would even like to agree with that. But there is the question that the jump lost 3 pillars and a promising manga that had great sales.
I think it is necessary to have manga with increasing sales and not to stand still.

[Shinuki no Reborn]

Like mentioned, Amazon pre orders are just a interesting thing to look but you can't really take much seriously, i have been regularly checking these things since Yozakura vol 2 and it's very bizarre overall, Mitama for example always ranked higher than Yozakura in pre orders and everybody knows how it sold, sometimes Agravity Boys vol.3 charted pretty close to Mashle vol.3 but sales aren't even close, so best thing is just to wait and see.

[Stivie]

what if we're all wrong and Magu actually does like 20k+

I would like to see this happening.

Mashle 3 already has what seemingly are higher numbers than Volume 2 in 4 weeks, and these numbers are pretty much near the same Yuuna 23 numbers had months ago, so it's more than established already.

Ayakashi should already have around 60.000 copies in 3 weeks which makes it even more than established in the magazine.

None of the other series ranks, which is more than expected, but still kinda sad to see there's 0 improvement at all for series such as AGRAVITY BOYS.

For the ones who don't know about it, Hana no Keiji was a manga published in Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1993. It is based on the novel Ichi-Mu-An Fūryūki by Keiichiro Ryu and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara (the artist of Fist of the North Star). It sold 20 million copies, and is featured in that legendary page from Medaka Box.

It got some sort of anime in 2011.

I really think Oricon should start having a blacklog category. Like they use Oricon for new releases only and use a * to highlight that this position would usually be hold by a backlog volume of another series which you can check in its own category. Because at this rate someday we will have like 3-4 series with backlog taking up nearly all the space in the Oricon top50. XD

Too bad! Here’s more for you:

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Film Tops Entire Global Box Office This Past Weekend

Film earned US$43.9 million, more than double of #2 film, China's My People, My Homeland

www.animenewsnetwork.com

"Theatergoers in Japan receive a "Rengoku Volume 0" manga volume, which is limited to 4.5 million copies."

They make it sounds like a print of 4.5 million copies is peanuts.

And the worst thing is, they're probably right that it won't be enough.

And to think that we might get another record in the popularity poll....

[101nemesis]

At this point, Kimetsu's official name should be Record Slayer.

[Tamil]

I forgot about Kimetsu's popularity poll lmao. Another record breaking result will be coming in.

These are the rankings from October 18th. Oricon is about to turn into a mess.

Hey Kimetsu. China called, they want their wall back . The great wall of Kimetsu is in full effect

This success is going to bleed into 2021 and Kimetsu will most likely be #1 then too since the final volume drops in Dec. They should drop a physical colored version of the manga as well

The craziest thing about this is that the Kimetsu and Jujutsu backlogs pushed Black Clover out of Oricon in two weeks. Jesus Christ. People are gonna hold it against Black Clover, and while the series is declining, this is very uncharacteristic, it's just that Jujutsu and Kimetsu keep dominating.

Was there anything like this when HeroAca had it's first boost or two? Cause depending on how long this keeps up, JJK could potentially pass MHA's peak. All it needs to do is break 600k in 4 weeks.

...we're probably going to be seeing so many more stories about slaying demons in the future, aren't we. Especially if Chainsaw man gets in on the action.

I mean dealing/fighting with demons, Spirits, curses wherever type of manga always be around. I remember one year Shonen Jump had a lot of new manga that was about fighting demons chainsaw man was one of them. I don't see Kimetsu and jjk popularity change anything
