Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2
Bakuman might definitely make a good drama. Drama watchers are a very different audience from anime viewers, though - I'm not convinced Sket would really be able to make it in that audience (whereas Bakuman seems to have a much greater appeal, period. They'd probably change the ages and stuff, though).
Bleach, end because the anime got too far ahead? If that happens, I will laugh my head off... and be pleased. But if they can't stick filler in, I guess it's plausible. Any reports of series continuing after a season or two of taking a break?
(And if we're throwing out examples - D.Gray-Man ended for what I always suspected was that reason. Could've been unpopularity, but the manga was maybe fifteen chapters ahead of the anime at that time, and with the rate at which new chapters were being put out...)
If there *absolutely has* to be a new Jump anime later in the year, I could definitely see animators doing Muhyo or Mx0, as mentioned by some smart person who I would name if I wasn't too lazy to look back for it. Mx0 has enough material for a season (+ potential fillers?), I'd bet, and it would probably translate to the format well. If they needed an anime. (Maybe they do, for the money? An anime would probably bring it in for Shueisha. What if they had a quota to meet?)
