*is ready to raise arms for Kawashita*
achem'

I'm not putting too much money on these two newcomers. From what I hear, one is coming from a history of generic battle manga, keys seem like a nice concept.
And the new age of gag manga does sound a little pretentious, even if it was a humerous exaggeration.

If Kagajin is cliche action, it will fail. There's to much competition. If, like Toriko and Psyren, it has more to offer it has a chance. Jump seems to go easy on gag so I think the third series should last at least till November.
I hope you are wrong about that. If it lasts until November something already established will probably have to go.

Hm...well, does it really? Maybe we'll hit a locked age, where nothing new can come in.

Sounds like wishful thinking. Why waste paper if the series is going to continually rank low and not be able to compensate for that in volume sales.

That's why I said volume sales would help. But since it's lasted this long, the editors and/or readers must see something in it. Not too many series in Jump last this long if they are "wasting space."

Nothing would please me more, but I think we all know better...

There are usually cuts every 8 to 10 weeks. There could be more in late August or early September. The gag manga can't be cut by then, it won't have enough chapters. It will probably be to soon for Kagajin as well, the early results would have to be horrific. More likely it would fall to survivors from the spring or 2008. Sket is safe.

If I had to pick ones to die I would choose Kuroko or Medaka. Neither is bad but I don't think they have the potential to last as long as the others...or even better would be To Love-ru......ugh I know the volumes sell well but it's bottom out for so long now, it deserves to die.

It depends on whether the gag is a full 15~20 page series, or a 8~10 page series.

My vote goes to Akaboshi and Kuroko if I have to choose from what is available at that point.

To Love Ru can also feel free to end anytime now though I admit the blatant fan service is the only reason I keep reading it. XD

Then let's hope that ecchi thing goes. But Psyren debuted in 2007 so it escapes yet again right?

Well maybe they won't count that since they put that issue out in '07. Speaking of which, why do they release issue one of '08 in '07? It bothers me for some reason cuz they do it with the American version as well, date it one month ahead of the actual month. Does anyone know why?

And yeah, I've always wondered that myself...

December is probably the start of their fiscal year.

Seems that way. It's the same thing for music as well, anyway, and I seem to recall that was the explanation given for why releases in December are considered to be for the next year.

No, not really. That and I like every thing else that has a chance of getting axed that much more. I'd rather have Psyren keep going if it came down to it and Akaboshi for instance.

It feels like another generic battle manga so far with the battle part being extremely unimpressive. The actual direction of the story and gathering of the 108 heroes is blase to me as well.

The only saving grace for this series in my eyes has been some of the humor.

Akaboshi I get the feeling like it's trying to do too much too fast. The plot just introduced about 8 characters in one chapter. A couple chapters ago there were just 2 main characters and that was it. It seems like it's more about trying to build a story than actually having one. It's still barely even make the first two main characters character clear. But I feel like it could be good maybe in a long run.

Oh Suikoden is and old chinese ledgend or something like that. So there are 108 main characters, but some are more "main" that others. Its like the Suikoden games. I've been playing the Suikoden games so im quite excited about this manga and the alternative Suikoden manga (which hasn't been scanlated:darn). From what i know all suikoden stories have 3 things in common, Politics, Betrayal and the 108 Star of Destiny. Love the games and their story so i should like this manga, hope it doesn't get cut.
